@@joshrosal5573 had they rolled out MoS, BvS, Ayercut, WW, ZSJL 1, Aquaman, ZSJL 2 and 3, and all the satellite films like Shazam, Flash, and Batman v Deathstroke, the only critical snarl up would have been BvS. Ironically nowadays we see BvS being retrospectively better received, and it's a perennial best seller on bluray, with most of the public liking it. It's not as big a misstep as WB's panicked reaction suggested way back in 2016. Ayercut would have fed in to ZSJL for more story connectivity. Then after ZSJL had run it's narrative course, another MoS, Green Lantern, etc etc. We were only lacking a Flash and Aquaman origin in ZSJL, and Aquaman wasn't even the finished article in the Snyderverse at that point, his solo film told the origin afterwards. Leaving only Flash without an origin for ZSJL. Not as rushed as people think. One film before the MCU did Assemble. Not rushed... Just carelessly and fearfully thrown away by WB. A complete tragedy imho.

The DCEU is so vibrant , colorful and unique with so many different tones . I can appreciate it even more
I love how diverse the DCEU films are, for better or for worse you really can feel each director vision in each film, this make them really unique.
Marvel may be more consistent and (much) more organized I terms of what direction they want to go, but that's something that they will never have, unique visions, stunningly beautiful cinematography AND epic and memorable soundtracks.
MCU got the soundtracks bruh. Black Panthe ost album is the only movie album soundtrack to go platinum. But the other parts can be true

People hate it because Superman did 'this' and he did 'that' and he shouldn't have done 'that'. And that is pretty dumb. People still don't understand the concept of the multiverse and how it is a blessing to us, we got different interpretation of a single character, that's pretty amazing imo. If the main character was an original character instead of Superman, people would have loved the film.

The one thing DC got right with the movies is the cinematography, like literally all of these scenes looks like something you would see in a comic book especially the one with Aquaman and Mera jumping off the boat trying to escape the trench.
The best thing about DC is that they treat each movie like a cinematic adventure with each movie having a different tone one can differentiate. Something, Marvel never made me feel.
Well, DC can never make me feel as connected and based on the same universe as Marvel, with their hundreds of Batmans and reboots😉. Everything has a good and a bad side.

As a lifelong DC comics fan who has been devouring their comics and other content since the early 1980s, thank you. I always felt like modern DC films were unparalleled in their visual artistry and this definitely supports that 100%
marvel has never and probably will never make me feel the way that dc has since i was 4 years old: simultaneously grounded in reality and higher than the clouds. the dceu makes me feel that way again at 26.
MCU might be amazing and all but I really grew up with DC ... with their animated shows, movies and TV series. TBH....if the Marvel movies didn't exist, I would probably never knew who The Avengers are (except Spiderman ofc). 😅

I didn't read comics, so you probably get the idea. My life changed when I first saw the Hulk smashing the chittauri in Avengers. From that moment, I became a HUGE fan of MCU. I like some DC movies too, but if they had someone like Kevin Feige on their side, I believe DC could have accomplished great things. But alas, it's handled by a hungry Studio that almost doesn't care about its fans.

Every shot from Aquaman is such a color shock comparing to the rest of the video, even supposedly colorful shots from other movies doesn’t compare to darker scenes, there’s just something about the cinematography, the level of exposure, the color contrast, the way scenes are lit, the framing and camerawork, I absolutely fell in love with it in the theater.

Aquaman is literally one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. every single scene just has a painterly quality( Trench scene, final battle, all the scenes in Sicily etc) to it, and it's easily the best looking dceu movie.

The stories haven’t been as consistent but man from a visual standpoint these films blow away anything in the MCU.

Zack Snyder and the DC Extended Universe's amazing photography is constantly overlooked when I personally think it's something quite unique and convey visual storytelling which should always be embraced.
The cinematography of DCEU honestly is what sets it apart from the rest of the other cinematic franchise. The way they use the visuals as part of the storytelling medium, alone with the sound track man....IT'S FUCKING AWESOME.

The DCEU is so underrated.
DC films have succeeded so much more than Marvel in conveying the mythic, godly, otherworldly comic book origins of these characters.
For all the storytelling blunders and missteps, it's incredible how the artistry still stands out at times as a really compelling rendering of the DCU...It almost felt like I was watching a really long trailer for an adaptation of Final Crisis
There were no major storytelling blunders in Man of Steel and BVS Ultimate edition..

While I do believe that this are some amazing shots, I would better say that they are "beautiful". The tone. the lightning, the colors, etc. Most of them are like paintings, especially the ones made by Snyder
Aquaman has some of the best visuals I've seen any movie ever. James Wan really took it to the next level.

I finally feel like Warner is polishing his DC Universe Diamond, I think it's not a matter of emulating the Marvel Universe, but of doing something unique with each movie. With Respecting Every Vision of the Director by proving your loyalty to the characters we grew up with, there's no need to follow a dark and gloomy style. Very happy that DC is getting the recognition it deserves as well as showing new characters that deserve to shine.

One thing i like about the DCEU is that they show GODS as GODS. They fight like gods,destroy everything like gods,like u can really see that they dont feel like a person,they indeed feel like a god and thats what marvel movies lack imo

@@prathambhardwaj2009 the fights actually have some weight to it, it's like you can feel the blows. Especially on the Smallville fight (that's my favorite part of the movie btw). Yeah sometimes story can be lacking, but when you see an awesome moment, it's worth it

crazy thing about DCEU is the hero and the villain is equally cool and iconic character.
Not for nothing, I know a lot of people didn’t approve of WW2 (their unfortunate choice) but that fire work scene where Diana and Trevor were flying was done so beautifully as far as cinematography goes. And the part where she finally learns to fly.
Yeah I legit got hype when she did it 🤣😂 honestly, more hype than I expected
I think personally what threw people off about WW84 is the script. It felt like this story and script was made for Linda carter to get her WW movie back then but something happened to where they scraped that but still had the script sitting in dust for decades until patty jerkins came across it and made a few changes to it. The movie feels like a cross between Linda Carter’s WW and the golden age comics of WW. I honestly enjoyed the movie but it do throws you off especially considering how WW2017 was much more darker and serious a bit. I didn’t like that they brought back Steve because I felt like it cheapened his death in the first movie. I don’t hate the magic stuff entirely but I wished it was done better. I don’t like how cheetahs power was tied to temporary magic where in the comics I believe she gets the power from a dark ritual that she did. Instead of using the rock,I wish instead of enchantress being in SS 2016,she was used in WW84 to be the main villain with maxwell lord.
Gosh these movies have so much potential moving on. After watching THE suicide squad, I can finally say, I’m excited to see The future of the DCEU. It’s a good time to be a DC fan.
I like that DCEU has a very strong and unique aesthetics in every movie. MCU looks nice, sometimes awesome, colourful etc. But when You watch DCEU movie, You can feel that it's something different. You could just walk in to the room where someone else is watching it and You would recognize the universe just by the first frame You see. There is a soul in these movies. Also, there is a sick amount of CGI in these yet they somehow manage to feel very real and authentic almost as You were there.

From what I understand WB/DC movies film a lot more on practical sets and shoot their films far in advance of release so they can have a long post production time. This allows for far better crafted shots with better integrated CGI. Wish the MCU would do the same but unfortunately they seem to try and get their films out faster and faster
Yeah, MCU is like a fast food chain.
Unfortunately? It's worked for the MCU thus far, plus as the universe is actually planned out story wise, they need to do things on time so the movies coincide with the timeline of events. DC dont have that rn, and WB dont care really so they have more time to film, plus they're filming less stuff in a year than Marvel does

When it comes to DC visuals I think there’s rarely ever complaints (except for zAcK’s MoViEs ArE tOo DaRk!), it’s more so that movies like Birds of Prey character/story wise are mediocre or subpar.

Nothing wrong with marvel movies at all! But I can’t believe how visually elevated and diverse the DCEU movies are.

HAVE to put this here. At this rate, I've played this video 397 times since I've put this on loop since 6 days ago from morning to night...
I think I'm obsessed. 🤔
I really love the DCEU for it's artistic diversity.
And I know that people will say "bUt ThErE tRyInG tO cOpY mArVeL nOw !" and I will say you completly wrong here.
A "Marvel like" is not just being just colorful and fun. (even tho most of MCU are...pretty dark at moment.)
What make a "Marvel like" is that :
-It doesn't take his concept seriously and have a BUNCH of cynical jokes
(like : "lol i'm fighting robot army in a flying city with just bow and arrows, that doesn't make sense lolilol". - Hawkeye)
-It's appealing to mass audience and generaly cut the emotional moment with a joke.
-And doesn't assume that it's a comic book movie.
And all of this is why the Josstice League (even tho is NOT even the Josh Wedhon's cut...yeah yeah, believe me) and Suicide Squad 2016 is bad (or pretty bad) because it as (practicly) all of this in it.
But in the other hand with have :
-WW84 and Aquaman who assume the comicbooky and fantasy aspect.
-Shazam who make humour but for the sake of the story and caracthers.
-Bird of Prey who assum the wackyness of Harley and doesn't make cynical joke about his univers.
-The Suicide Squad 2021 who (mostly) assume his genres inspirations.
-Snyder Cut (and the Snyder trilogy) who just assume their bold ideas and mythological aspect.
And all of that with more artistic liberty and vision than the MCU.
But all of this for saying that, NO ! Don't bring back the SnyderVerse !
Thath could kill all the artistic vision and diversity that the DCEU has.
But...that just my opinion.

The best things about DC universe is their cinematic shots and filmography
If there's something the DCEU nails, it's cinematography and music!
You can clearly see the beauty of these shots and its ethereal existence.
When I was 5 or 6 my eyes were glued on the telly watching justice league, batman the animated show, JL unlimited, superman, green lantern the animated show, batman beyond, teen titans and reading lots of comics( still do).Seeing this makes me cry as huge DC fanboy. And the soundtracks are really good too.Specially the Hans Zimmer ones.
