The Raimi Trilogy is nothing short of MAGIC. Its so beautiful i just cant understand or explain how. Just take a small example from this clip At 5:44 we see our beloved superhero in all his glory beating up a villian out of pure selflessness and heroism, he's just a good hearted kid who wants to stop the bad guy and save the day. At 5:38 we see the Symbiote Spider-Man beating up a villian purely out of rage, vengeance and disgust. Sure he's trying to avenge Uncle Ben, but by doing the opposite of what his Uncle wanted from him. He's filled with murderous intent and has forgotten what the Spider-Man symbol stands for. And finally at 5:49 we finally get our Amazing Webhead back with us, who has learned his lesson and is trying to right his wrongs by fighting the demons of his own creation with the light he gets from within, from his friends and family. gosh, Sam Raimi, you are God and dont let any MCU fanboy kid tell you otherwise.

@@ANDREWjkl1 Both these blockbusters have great filmmaking, no doubt, Villeneuve and Reeves are top directors but lacking are the production values of 35mm, built sets vs greenscreen and while 'Dune' utilised solid actors, the film as a whole left me feeling nothing (possibly because we only saw part 1 of 2 but then 'Fellowship of the Ring' managed to provoke me emotionally) and 'The Batman's only good actors were Jeffrey Wright and Colin Farrell. 'Batman Begins' had Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Ken Watanabe, Tom Wilkinson, real actors who can make bold choices in a scene and deliver dialogue with seamlessly naturalistic thought changes. Sadly Pattinson can't act (although he selects good projects and directors to work with), not that it matters so much in a blockbuster movie as the strength of the set pieces, editing, sound design, cinematography..etc can cover for this but you definitely feel the difference when you have actors on the level of Bale in the lead. It's like going from Brando-level acting talent to someone like Orlando Bloom-level "acting" talent, the production as a whole then becomes more dependent on the overall filmmaking qualities and thank God they had a director like Reeves and not some studio 'yes' man to deliver a unique vision of Gotham that felt like the comics, it certainly has plenty of replay value as a result. 'No Time to Die' and 'A Quiet Place II' are thankfully recent examples of films that can still deliver the quality you were mentioning we had 20 years ago during the golden age of blockbusters (good actors, built sets, on-location filming, 35mm and practical effects), if only we could get more blockbusters of this quality, we were spoilt from 90s to mid-2000s in this regard.
