Hi Christy! Would you mind making a video on how to make this presentation, it is astonishing and i would love to learn how to me make a presentation like this one!
I'm not sure where the intern part comes in? This presentation seems at minimum mid-Level with a solid understanding of UX Strategy. I would be stunned if Google didn't offer your a return offer immediately. Well done Christy
Beginning to end, this was a great video. I am so excited to try and go down this path myself now. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful experience :)
I'm glad youtube algorithm brings me to your video, definitely worth to watch! Thank you so much for sharing this Hu, congrats & good luck on your intern! Keep it up!!
This video is very helpful for me. Can you make a video on how to do white board challenges? And what type of questions recruits will ask after the portfolio presentation in 15 minutes?
Thank you Cristy for sharing this! I- too who is also Graphic Design graduated last yr. Leaning more into UX, is it okay if you can share how did you transition too? And any other tips to share!
Hi Christy! I wonder how many cases you should to share in an interview? Is it like the video which you have 30 minutes to present two case studies or just one?
I can either present one or two projects in 30 minutes. I still have a lot to talk about for one project in 30 minutes. Some hiring managers want to hear two projects. So I would ask the hiring manager.
Great Job Christy! such a beautiful layout and precise explanation. Congratulations! I would like to know what is the current webpage you suggest for soon to be UX designer to host their portfolios in?
Do you mean website builders? Webflow is a great tool that has existing templates and lots of customization. But it'll take some time to learn for beginners.
@@christyhu yes, I meant website builders. I did hear about Web-flow which seems like a great option, as a beginner I know it’ll definitely take time but it’ll be worth investing time in. Thank you!
Hi Christy! Thank you so much for sharing this - so insightful!! I'm wondering what software tool you used to showcase the sketches during ideation? Are they done in illustrator?? :)
Hi Christ, thanks for the video. It's so clear and helpful. Were you reading the script or presenting without the script? I'm asking because your presentation was very natural and obviously carefully prepared.
Good question, Simone! I had written a script but as I practiced more, I can remember what I'm going to say so I don't need to rely on the script. I also suggest writing down keywords for your script instead of exact sentences. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you for sharing this! It's super helpful and I'm so impressed by your presentation. Could you please share the website that you use to build your portfolio? Thanks!
Hey Christy great video, thanks for sharing. I'm curios to know what criteria did you use to select your 2 projects and also how did you decided the order in which you'd present them? Thanks again!
Great questions! I selected one internship project and a hackathon project. Because the internship project shows my collaboration skill with the team under real constraints. The hackathon project shows how I can work creatively and effectively under a short timeline and pressure. I chose to present the more impactful project first.
Hi, Thanks a lot for sharing your UX Design Portfolio. I just subscribed to your channel. I look forward to more great content like this. It was super informative and thorough! I have a few questions if you don't mind. Q1. What tool did you choose as a presentation medium(google slide, canva, figma, keynote etc.) Q2. Was the presentation done on-site or online(zoom, google-hangout etc.)? Q3. Does a presenter including yourself usually carry some sort of script you can read off to help you stay on time? Thanks. 🤓👍
Thank you for your support! To answer your questions, I used keynote for my presentation. Most presentations are still done online through Zoom or Google Meet today. Yes, a script with keywords is helpful. But I don't recommend reading off the script. Hope it helps!
Good presentation and nice work! However I wonder if Google has the same standards applied to hiring non-US professionals for the full time positons, not internship?
Hey, Christy! I really like your presentation🙂. I've one question for you, Hope you'll reply me😊 Could you please tell me the way how I can write my content and can also able to read while I'm giving presentation so that interviewer can't see that I'm reading the content and can easily present my work.?
Hi Shivani! If you use Google slides or Keynote, you can put your notes in the speaker notes section. You will then use presenter mode when you present. So others won't see your speaker notes.
@@christyhu thanks! Also thank you for the great video. May i ask what kind of questions do interviewers ask during/after portfolio presentation? Do they mostly ask 'why' questions like "why did you choose to use that research method"? Or 'what' questions, such as: "what is that X feature/button on the X page for? how does it work?" Im not sure how should i prepare the portfolio presentation interview except working on the slides and the verbal presentation itself
@@christyhu Thanks! So would you recommend me to NOT go over each and every feature in detail while going over the final prototypes? My projects are both mobile applications and there are lots of features and functionalities I designed. For example, almost every mobile app has 'Settings' page (and so does mine), but of course it is not the most important / core feature of the app. In this case, would it be ok to just omit explaining the settings page or explain it over very briefly?
@@christyhu Also, when you were presenting two projects, was it like: 2 presentations + Q&A session at the end OR first presentation + first Q&A + second presentation + second Q&A?
Even for Google, this presentation is far beyond "intern-level" work. I've interviewed mid-level designers with half the quality you show in this presentation. Google should offer you a Product Designer position and salary, not an internship. IMO
Hellooo. I just want to say I love this video and thank you so much for having this. If you don't mind I would like to connect on LinkedIn if that is okay with you. The name is Joshua :D
What a clean and easy to follow presentation, this is really impressive job! No wonder you got the job :)

I'd like to. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm curious what do you find challenging when making a presentation?
Oh my gosh, I remembered you thanks to your unique logo! Your portfolio is really amazing! Kudos for all the hard work you've done so far!
Amazing work, really helpful to see how you can approach a UX portfolio, even as a Content Designer! Thank you 🙂

hi Christy :) Thanks for the sharing! Did you made your portfolio file as a website or a pdf? let me know~!

Sorry I can't provide my presentation material/template. I designed it in Keynote.

Brilliant
1:30 what's written on bottom left corner ? its obstructed by your face cam
Did you read off a script for your interview? And do people normally read off a script or just wing it because i was planning to read off something
I have a script but as I practice more, I don't rely on the script.
Hi! where did you create your slide deck? on Figma?
Apple keynote
ikr!
14:37 For this part, did you basically just 1) record your figma prototype screen 2) place it inside your slide?
that's right!
