Going through your content and I just want to say THANK YOU! This is the best design channel I’ve seen. To actually see real work, not only video descriptions of how to do things is amazing. Great work!
Although old this video is the best video on how to structure a case study for interviews specifically. Regardless of your level as a designer, I am a senior and I will be taking inspiration from this. Thank you so much Femke for everything you do for the design community! 🖤
Thank you Fem, you really inspire me!. The way you present the ideas, the tone voice. Love your clarity and the confident while you explain the concepts. Thanks again.
Hi Femke.. I like how you explain your team's process for coming up The Stories feature. The Stories feature are so overused in most of the apps that we use today, but I like how you all arrived at this concept without obviously picking this concept.. if that makes sense 😅 all the best
What a great case sudy presentation. Really clear story and process. Definitely getting my hands dirty on my next case presentation to come up with such a great one as yours! 🎉 I'm wondering, is the MVP based on assumptions, or did you also performed research upfront? And if so, what types of research did you perform and how did you come to the problem statement? 😊
Super helpful content Femke! I'm a junior designer trying to learn more about quantifying impact, so I just wanted to ask how did you know that the increase in orders came from your project and not some other variable (e.g. aggressive discount promotions)?
This is my first time commenting on a youtube video and I just wanted to say thank you so much fore sharing! This is truly helpful. I learned so much from all your videos.
Can't believe there are only 742 likes, (I'm being the 743rd one) this video is worth 100x likes. Your sharing is so valuable. Thank you so much, Femke!
Femke, this is a great use case that demonstrates a real life example and that helps me to put learnings into context. I have learned a lot from your video and I like how it aligns with the double diamond design framework that you discussed in another video.
Thanks for this beautiful presentation! Was curious to know 1. At what point of time did you start documenting these and how do you go about it? How long did it take to make this case study presentation 2. How and when did you measure the impact after shipping the feature ?
Hey! I created this presentation specifically for an internal presentation. As for impact, it can depend on the experiment timeline as this can vary per project. For this one I think it was 6 weeks.
Thanks for sharing this Femke - whilst people scoff at the spread of "stories", ultimately its now become a familiar pattern for users to interact with, and it absolutely seems like it was the right solution for the problem you described. Thank you again for the informative video! :)
So impressive! I have two questions, how long did you spend on this project and do you always create the high fidelity versions of your explorations, as in this presentation? Thanks in advance. Love your content, it has helped me a lot lately ❤
This project was about 8 months from start to launch. As for hi-fi explorations, not always but sometimes it was easier to use the design system when exploring which naturally meant our explorations were in hi-fi.
Hello! Great presentation. I wanted to ask that I am currently a college student and have worked only with small startup but do have some hypothetical UX case studies made. How can I add those in my portfolio highlighting the impact or the changes those would bring in the overall experience.
Really great content, support from another Product Designer from Toronto. Just wondering what kind of research you guys did to validate the concept, also were you the only designer for this project? Just curious. Thanks and looking forward to more great content from you.
There was a lot of existing, supporting foundational research that influenced this project. This project came about from hearing in other research that customers and merchants were looking for more connection.
it's very useful. Thank you for making this kind of video, I always struggling with presenting case that would be great if you can keep making this kind of videos
If the designers design these experiences, engineers implement them and then PMMs market them. What do PMs do? I am so curious to hear what your perspective on the PM role as a designer.
Thanks so much!! I learned a lot about how to structure a case study. I am wondering, are there some differences between a case study deck and a deck for UX interview presentation?
Excellent presentation and solid work! However, I would like to understand what decisions/designs she made vs. the team and how they came to those decisions. Did they test prototypes with users, or was it created based on internal knowledge/hypotheses then beta tested? I'm always curious how teams handle this.
Hey! It can depend on the project and resourcing we have. This project was strongly based on internal hypothesis and past research we'd gathered which highlighted this as an area of opportunity.
Hey femke, great presentation. Did you try integrating storefront stories on the profile picture kind of thing just like instagram does in form of profile picture strokes?
Hi Femke, I have enjoyed your video's and explanation around 'impact' of design. What would be the ideal duration for measuring the impact after the feature has gone live?
Do you think the framework that you used in the video to present the design work is efficient & can be followed during case study interviews? By the way, this was really cool and the presentation delivery was on point!⭐
i would like to know why uber eats failed in my country. we have rappi and its been the leader for a few years now. some others came and went out like glovo and uber eats.
@@femkedesign amazing. I'm currently studying UX Design and hoping to move into that team when I'm done after I get some experience. We may cross paths 😁
I was just on Uber Eats app today looking for food to order and saw this new stories. Not to offend you, but as a customer myself I found it super annoying and would not want to spend my time looking at them at all. I just want simple, straightforward, let's get this task done. Every app is starting to feel like Tiktok and I honestly hate all social media. It's all just more clutter to have to go around!
I honestly learned so much on presenting design concepts based on this alone, thank you Femke!
Yay! So glad to hear that :)

Love the video! How do you come up with the principles? Do you do some sort of workshop?
OOh good question! I might save this for a future video, but generally they evolve from the user research phase.

Hey femke, great presentation. Did you try integrating storefront stories on the profile picture kind of thing just like instagram does in form of profile picture strokes?
We had it as a future exploration - at the time Eats didn't have logos or profile pictures for stores, so that would have been a huge dependency.
Hi Femke, I have enjoyed your video's and explanation around 'impact' of design. What would be the ideal duration for measuring the impact after the feature has gone live?
Hey Peter - in this case we had an experiment plan that was set to run for 6 weeks. There is not hard number, so it can vary per project.
thx for sharing! inspired me to improve my portfolio deck!
Yay! That's awesome to hear Rachel. Good luck!
