Something to note, Precision Instrument does not require crits to stack/refresh the buff. It only increases precision damage, but if you hit the body your timer still refreshes/stacks still increase. Prob not enough to move it any tiers but its a bit more forgiving than people think

This does not appear to be true in my experience - A Volta Bracket with 3 shots, and a Volta Bracket with 5 shots, will both activate Nanotech Tracer Rockets in the same number of hits - 3. Assuming the rounding is consistent, this should not happen if the required hits is 50%. Also, Explosive Payload adds an extra hit per shot.

Something I’d like to comment on is Eddy Current. Perfectly reasonable to rate it E or F overall for most things, but with one particular set up, I’d argue it’s pretty good. If you didn’t know, everyone’s new favourite exotic, Getaway Artist, gives you free amplified whenever you consume your grenade, therefore using a weapon with Eddy Current with that set up will give you really max reload immediately. I used this paired with the new Heavy Burst pulse, Corrasion which has voltshot and I’m sure it’s obvious at this point what I’m getting at. Also, that same combo is available on Nation of Beasts if you prioritise having Voltshot up as quickly as possible over the additional damage of Dragonfly.

I was surprised to see Circle of Life in D tier. I find that Incandescent on No Hesitation feels a little flat when I'm not on solar/prismatic subclasses that can really take advantage of the scorching beyond it's base DoT. Even looking at the other perks in that column, Circle's 25% damage buff is just shy of 3x Desperate Measures, and its arguably easier to proc because it doesn't require kills. That follows similar logic to the "on hit vs on kill activation" argument. It's not exactly an S-tier perk or anything, but IMO it probably belongs next to Firing Line in C-tier at least. Although then again I'm ass at this game so IDK lol
Here to defend killing tally!!! Ability kills are common but not every build can upkeep DM x3 well enough, i'm thinking speaker's sight and nighthawk for instance. The flexibility of just 3 kills giving an untimed 30% damage buff is A-S tier worthy in my eyes but idk i don't run speeds on this game

@@SpiderReviver Cool, thanks for the correction! My memory was fuzzy on it; so much Destiny info being crammed in there these days. :P Also, gotta love how totally reliable Destiny patch notes definitely probably sometimes might be, amirite?
You made me wanna try GMs with explosive light GLs instead of bipod rockets. It must be better in every aspect and it's way less awkward than using it for raid DPS because of the amount of orbs you have in GMs
I feel like if by default perks that are considered “the same” as before were moved down 2 tiers, you should probably have extended the tiers upwards to S+ and SS instead of down to G and H.
Tbh I don’t really see why killing tally was moved down. I see it as effectively equal to desperate measures or at the very least not notably worse. They’re the same max buff and while it takes 1 more kill to reach max stacks than desperate measures theoretically needs it has the benefit of not having a timer. It won’t drop off between add waves and since it’s basically only machine gun relevant we can just assume it’s being used there, and there’s not a ton of reason to swap off a machine gun in add clear focused situations. Idk I just don’t really see a huge difference in viability between the two.
I personally ready/stow LMGs way more than I think most people do so that downside of not being able to swap is a lot more significant to me than the lack of timer if you keep the weapon out, which might explain our difference of opinion :P
Could you do a damage test on titan? I am wondering if running solar, and using hazardous propulsion spam would be the highest dps, even higher than the cloudstrike/rocket dump method. Essentially just run ember of singing and occasionally scorch, abilities, kindling trigger, occasional skyburners oath shot. Once the extra class regen is going dump all your crits with a good dps precision weapon or if you need more stacks faster using a 3 burst linesr fusion riffle (or euphony). It would have the dps of that euphony or precision dump on top of having a rocket volley every 9ish seconds. It would loose out on having a super however. Particularly interested in a scintillation/skyburners oath/hazardous propulsion combo
You are asking me to test if Skyburner's Oath and Scintillation does more DPS than a rocket dump method? I don't quite understand what is novel or unknown about this loadout you are proposing.
@@TheAegisRelic more so testing hazardous propulsion with singeing for spamming the class ability volley. Skyburners is just there as a source of continuous free scorch for a long dps phase. This season you could use any solar sniper. The fusion rifle was just to stack up the rockets fast enough, though on second thought a simple sniper should be able to keep up, despite searing making the class ability come up faster. This just stemmed from my belief that two hazards volleys were roughly the same damage as the net gain from star-eaters twilight arsenal over the regular twilight arsenal in a dps phase. So i was curious if we kept spamming hazards if it could allow for competitive damage through a longer dps phase like the witness or even just greg.

@TheAegisRelic depends, honestly, high ground will proc x3 on the first bullet if you're paying attention to your feet and after the third kill if you can't-get your feet 1m above "an"(doesn't have to be the floating enemy) enemy's feet. I thinkdesperate measures is a very good perk, always have, and better then high ground, in alot of situations but high ground is better, and easier to proc then something like even BNS, imo. I've allways thought BnS was over rated, I mean who really want to shoot their primary or trace at a dps target, feels counter intuitive, to me
@TheAegisRelic even on the arc rocket sleepless, if your 1m above your target, your first rocket gets the dmg buff. imo, it b tier at least, A-tier pushing s tier in my opinion. it's even potent in pvp, which not many perks can bridge that gap
Yeah I suppose, it's just a bit situational I guess but if you play around it correctly you can max it out instantly, I just think there are other neutral perks that don't require any thinking or planning and have higher highs and similar consistency
My fattest hear me out is on destab rounds. Sure the ICD sucks but you should see it not as a one kill one splash perk, but a one kill in a pack of n enemies for n-1 explosions. The ICD cannot be felt one bit in specifically GMs with a plinking behind cover strategy, and I know how meaningless that is in a world where Hunters and Titans are literally invincible and Warlocks have infinite CC but if -99LL GM solo runs become a thing it might see use. On a more serious note, there's value in controlling when the detonations happen. Demo has a weird mechanic where it has a very short ICD on grenade energy regen that sometimes prevents chain reaction or incan or whatever to proc on every splash kill while destab avoids this issue by needing manual triggering, and IMO Demo is still the best perk in the game no matter how hard Big Speedrun tries to CENSOR the SILENT MAJORITY!!!!!11
Yeah so I actually ranked Destab higher than most people I was talking to thought it should be rated, their concern was not so much the ICD (which as you correctly point out, is rather hard to perceive), but rather the disappointing rate of volatile ticks post-patch. But yeah, your assessment is valid.
Every origin trait/perk is on the list (indom is A tier). You can check spreadsheet in description for full ranking. If it didn't move from last season, he didn't include it in the change log.
Honestly D tier isn't that bad when you look at the other perks in D, this tier list does have an H tier so comparatively D is actually the middle of the pack
Okay I got a question. Don’t get me wrong, I love a statistical analysis for a tierlist and this was an interesting one, but do you yourself see any point for the origin trait tierlist beyond maybe adept weapons that have several? What I mean is - maybe collective purpose is a D, but there’s really no way to get rid of it in my non-denounce, nullify or anomaly, and there’s also no alternative for any of these guns. Basically, for like 90-95% weapons origin traits are just something you take notice of but don’t care much, aren’t they?
Yeah it's just helpful in the same way you can only have a certain set of perks on a weapon - to analyze how good the weapon is, not what the best perk combo is.
Pretty shocking how few traits are actually worth upgrading to enhanced vs the cost of doing it. I mean Cascade Point is at 2.5 seconds, enhanced adds .25 to it, what a useless increase.
Deconstruct doesn't really serve any purpose besides basically acting like a non-precision FTTC on primaries, which I don't think is particularly useful compared to something like Rewind
All perks are on the tier list (can check in spreadsheet linked in descrip), but if it didn't change tiers then it wasn't included in change log (GT is B tier at rank 38).
Salvations edge deserved a better origin trait and weapon models. I mean look at stuff like Kings fall, Vow, Deep stone, etc. amazing weapon design and/or origin traits that felt raid-tier. Then for the final two raids they just throw?? Seriously bugs me and I haven’t seen anybody bring it up. Salvations and Root have mediocre or just plain ugly/lazy looking weapons and surprisingly bad origin traits, when they should be some of the best in the game! Makes no sense to me especially after Vow… man ya gotta love Bungie
bipods reason for s tier is the swapping to other perks for more ammo and then swap back to dmg perk. but didnt bungie fix that perk swapping ammo keeping tech? or am i missing something here?
Bipod swapping with a crux? I thought the double perk was on the 3rd column for crux, or does he mean rally with a bipod crux the swap to another crux that doesn’t have bipod?
@@TheAegisRelic Like the handling is really nice for swaps, but it is also a reload perk. Additionally, enhanced threat detector is much better than the base version. The weapons I would use threat detector on (shotguns, sidearms, smgs) are all going to he within 15 meters of the intended target anyways, so it isn't difficult to proc. Shotguns benefit from a handling and reload increase at the same time, along with a handling scalar. 3 stat bonuses just for being near targets is goated, especially for sidearms and smgs. It solves the weaknesses these weapons typically have (stability, handling, reload due to small magazine) and is far more useful to me than Feeding Frenzy due to the kill requirement. Think of it like this: my crafted Calus Mini-Tool has Extended Barrel, Flared Magwell, Enhanced Threat Detector, and Enhanced Incandescent with a Range MW. With TD ×2 active (which happens all the time) it goes from having 50 range, 56 stability, 57 handling, 48 reload to 50 range, 96 stability, 100 handling, 100 reload. The perk isn't for every weapon, but I think it is easily the best 3rd column perk for smgs and sidearms outside of double damage and utility (demo/splash perks) that I am still willing to pick over utility/splash depending on the situation. Even if it isn't the best in slot for swap shotguns (reconstruction, envious assassin, slickdraw, quickdraw) I still think it is a decent contender. That's just my two cents though, what do you think?
ace of spades, khvostov, and still hunt provide stacks for dealer's but don't benefit. I.e. if you have the call, still hunt, and some non dealer's choice weapon for heavy you would have x2 stacks of dealer's choice for the call. Similar idea to conditional finality providing buff for harmonic resonance, but not receiving the buff.
Not really amazing dps, precision rockets intrinsically do ~14% less damage (0.95/1.1) than adaptives/aggressives and grave robber has a 3s icd. Basically unless you specifically need a strand rocket, any good adaptive/aggressive rocket would be better dps.

Procs while stowed and 7s refreshable. I think he slightly underrated killing tally since it ramps quickly on LMGs and persists until stowed, but desperate is similar to frenzy with the easy/consistent uptime. I feel like every time I pull out a desperate measures weapon I'm already at x2 stacks.
If weapon kills didn't extend the timer at x2 or x3, I'd agree. However, they do, and in the current sandbox, DM is excellent - having a tier 2 damage perk already active when you swap your LMG is really strong.

Not disagreeing with chad Aegis but note to all that auto-loading holster is insane on bipod rocket.
Yeah Auto Bipod is fun in GMs for sure!
sundering procs on shield break now, its kind of insane
Did I just dream this, or didn't Bungo just nerf Relentless Strikes and Whirlwind Blade to not ramp up with Wolfpacks anymore?
They said they nerfed the relentless strikes interaction, but that was just a lie.
They never said anything about whirlwind, so idk if they plan on fixing the interaction.
@@SpiderReviver Cool, thanks for the correction! My memory was fuzzy on it; so much Destiny info being crammed in there these days. :P
Also, gotta love how totally reliable Destiny patch notes definitely probably sometimes might be, amirite?
bro studying this harder than wave managment in league go get on the grind man
Bouta build a 3 wave crash into the Witness
remember that eddy current is currently bugged and even when amplified you need to run for the perk to activate
That's only for the Enhanced version. The normal version is working as intended, constant reload buff whenever you're Amplified.
Yeah no worries I assume that's going to be patched
beacon rounds is fire
You made me wanna try GMs with explosive light GLs instead of bipod rockets. It must be better in every aspect and it's way less awkward than using it for raid DPS because of the amount of orbs you have in GMs
It's kind of interesting as a roam option and plus you don't have to use Gjally :P
@@TheAegisRelic always disliked gally. Have 360 kills on it in 3y of playing
Good morning aegis
Ambush on big burts dmg is super nice
I feel like if by default perks that are considered “the same” as before were moved down 2 tiers, you should probably have extended the tiers upwards to S+ and SS instead of down to G and H.
Perhaps tbh, I think maybe making +- tiers would've been a decent choice
It's a good meme on Appetance but trace rifles aren't exactly end-game meta so IDK
Yeah I'll try using HP + volley maximization in rotations, it's planned :P

you missed the mark on high ground, perk is s-tier on machine guns, namely, Song of IR Yut. easy af to proc, it is literally allways active
Why LMGs specifically? Wouldn't Desperate Measures just be better?
Incan/volt shot are S to me. Too much ease of use for legendary primary group ad clear similar to graviton/sunshot
Envious down to F tier after the most recent patch
It's rough out here
6 collective purpose non denouement tempo+gambit dps test when?
would like to know any changes considering the reserve change shenanigan. I'm sure bipod might lose its S tier placement...
Bipod swapping still works post-change I think?
Don't know if this has been mentioned.
I didn't see the origin trait Indomitability, from onslaught.
It's there!
Every origin trait/perk is on the list (indom is A tier).
You can check spreadsheet in description for full ranking. If it didn't move from last season, he didn't include it in the change log.
Thoughts one the envious "changes"?... Do you think it was intentional or just a side bug due to how they fixed reserve swapping 🤔?
Classic Bungie patch of overkilling a blanket patch to affect 20 things so 1 relatively harmless thing doesn't work
@@TheAegisRelic yeah think so too... But i really Hope listen this time
Headstone in D tier is criminal, justice for my boy 😭
ya and the pris fragment+artifact perk makes it very effective ad clear. dusted off my Krait this season, thing shreds
Honestly D tier isn't that bad when you look at the other perks in D, this tier list does have an H tier so comparatively D is actually the middle of the pack
@@TheAegisRelic Also don't tell Bungie, but Onslaught is bugged atm and gives x3 stacks when you kill something with a grenade 🤫
People don't go around swapping origin traits, be real
Pretty shocking how few traits are actually worth upgrading to enhanced vs the cost of doing it. I mean Cascade Point is at 2.5 seconds, enhanced adds .25 to it, what a useless increase.
I think it allows for 1 more GL shot or something but yeah usually doesn't matter
Do you have like a VOD channel or something that would just have all this s24 lists as one really long video? Pretty please?
I might make a VOD channel yeah haha
Deconstruct isn't half bad with primaries ros argos can run rewind plus surplus
Deconstruct doesn't really serve any purpose besides basically acting like a non-precision FTTC on primaries, which I don't think is particularly useful compared to something like Rewind
Thanks, you forgot Damage Increase tho it's wtv
Huh
Aegis cured my cancer
Good vid. But where is this one build for every exotic vid? : (
That's gonna take so long and TFS came out before I got to it, hopefully ONE DAY
@@TheAegisRelic we can dream lol.
I don't see Golden Tricorn, sadge
All perks are on the tier list (can check in spreadsheet linked in descrip), but if it didn't change tiers then it wasn't included in change log (GT is B tier at rank 38).
Slight dissagreement, I find pugilist on shotguns especially one2p and trench shotties to be really nice.
It's good on stuff like Perfect Paradox
Salvations edge deserved a better origin trait and weapon models. I mean look at stuff like Kings fall, Vow, Deep stone, etc. amazing weapon design and/or origin traits that felt raid-tier. Then for the final two raids they just throw?? Seriously bugs me and I haven’t seen anybody bring it up.
Salvations and Root have mediocre or just plain ugly/lazy looking weapons and surprisingly bad origin traits, when they should be some of the best in the game! Makes no sense to me especially after Vow… man ya gotta love Bungie
Yeah I wish Collective did more :(
bipods reason for s tier is the swapping to other perks for more ammo and then swap back to dmg perk. but didnt bungie fix that perk swapping ammo keeping tech? or am i missing something here?
I don't have roll to confirm, but a reliable source has said that bipod swapping still works.
edit: confirmed with my own roll as well.
@@SpiderReviver bipod swapping still works just tested it i see why its s now lol
Im gonna fall asleep to this video

Bipod swapping with a crux? I thought the double perk was on the 3rd column for crux, or does he mean rally with a bipod crux the swap to another crux that doesn’t have bipod?
double perks occur in either column, depends on which column got it last from master LS.

@@SpiderReviver I learn something new everyday, good to know thanks.
Expand the tiers even further with +/- sub-tiers >:D
Hahahahahahaha.........
I would say Threat Detector is underrated, but I like the list otherwise.
It probably is yeah
Wait Still Hunt procs Dealers Choice too? Isn't Still Hunt an exotic?
ace of spades, khvostov, and still hunt provide stacks for dealer's but don't benefit. I.e. if you have the call, still hunt, and some non dealer's choice weapon for heavy you would have x2 stacks of dealer's choice for the call.
Similar idea to conditional finality providing buff for harmonic resonance, but not receiving the buff.
@@SpiderReviver Holy shit that's big. Thanks for the info.
attrition orbs skip? :D
Pretty good on high RPM (multimach)
It's in the list, just didn't change tiers this season!
Did they nerf izi reserves? I didn't see anything about it in the patch notes but I swear it used to have more than 19
19????? Wtf that's gotta be a bug
Every sniper got accidentally nerfed with the reserve changes.
Bungie is already aware and working on fix.
Could grave robber + bait on crowning duologue be any good?
Not really amazing dps, precision rockets intrinsically do ~14% less damage (0.95/1.1) than adaptives/aggressives and grave robber has a 3s icd.
Basically unless you specifically need a strand rocket, any good adaptive/aggressive rocket would be better dps.
guys, whatever you do, never, NEVER abbreviate Collective Purpose

Ah never mind I see it just wasn’t changed tiers never mind I am blind
Yep only went over changelog :P
@@TheAegisRelic where would you put bait if it was on an lmg?
Bait is already on several LMGs and it's alright
Desperate measures being better than killing tally is the worst take I think I've heard since TFS dropped.
If you don't have an ability kill every 7s consistently on any class other than maybe on a warlock, these rankings aren't for you bruh
Best* KT can't be kept up while stowed.
DM is a goated perk, especially on s/hoil builds and punch hunters. anyone who doesn't think so is wrong or doesn't understand the perk
If weapon kills didn't extend the timer at x2 or x3, I'd agree. However, they do, and in the current sandbox, DM is excellent - having a tier 2 damage perk already active when you swap your LMG is really strong.
