2. Diamonds by the Square Reference book
Best package: Starter Pack #2 - contains Original Ruler, black Square Reference book, Vol 1, Diamonds by the Square reference book, Vol 2 and 2 hour instructional DVD.

I first purchased your rulers and reference books in 2014 and have made a number of small quilts with the Square in a Square technique. I even led a small group at our LQS using our reference books and rulers. I recently found your UA-cam videos, and am enjoying seeing you demonstrating and explaining your many Options. Thank you for your teaching and love of quilting.
Wow I love this! Will check out the products. Jeannine Cook
Jeannine, I would recommend to watch our free webinars and start at the beginning. We use one ruler (tool) to make all the triangle units in any size. The hexie star is Option 25 of the Square in a Square system. Here is the link >>> bit.ly/webinarsfor2021
What an epiphany! Thank you!
That was amazing. I wanted to make trees go8ng around my quilt. You have solved my problem on how. Thanks
Brilliant!
The border idea is so cool! Also, I bet a lot of beginner quilters would be intimidated by the Y seams needed to attach the side pieces to make the unit have a straight edge.
That’s why we make it easy w the way we put it on.
What a WONderful ruler!!!
It’s a beautiful project thank you very much for your tutorial! 🌹
I love this tutorial and I can't wait to try it out. Admittedly I don't have years of quilting experience under my belt, so I will have to practice sewing those Y seams as one of the other commentators called them.
Linda, we will make a "part 2" of this video and show you ways to put it together. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching.
love it! going to give it a try!
Great and very clever tutorial the knowledge of the ruler is a must. Can you make a tutorial just explaining the use of the ruler??? That will be good you explained very good.

How wide is the red strip you first sew the diamond onto? Thank you. Love the video!
It's just like how we do the Basic Square. Measure the diamond, divide in half and then add 1/2" to get strip size. You can always email us for help jodi@squareinasquare.com
WOW, that looks great, you make it look so easy!!! Love it, this will be my next project!! Thank you!! What if I don’t have a 120 ruler??
The Original and Mini Square in a Square rulers have all the angles you need. One Ruler and One System does it all and in any size.
Очень понятно и подробно преподнесён материал. Спасибо!
Очень хорошо. через гугл переводчик.
Lovely! Would you please show us how to sew in those oblique angle pieces to the star? I want to make one of these for Patriotic causes.

Question Jodie - Is there a reason you don't press these seams open in the initial construction of the diamond ? The reason I ask is the bulk would lay flatter I would think when the 6 points come together in most all of the settings. The seams are not nesting, but going in the same direction.
Mary, I like them to all go in the same spiral direction. Of course, you can press them open if you want to; and I do this on a lot of little blocks.
This may sound like a rookie question, and it is. When you add your extra triangle pieces to square up an even edge to the star unit, how do you sew that triangle in? Line up right sides together with 1/4 inch point overhang in center, and sew center point out to outer edge; then start back at center point with other edge lined up, sewing point out to outer edge?? Then press how? I don’t see an easy way to line pieces up to sew together. Am I missing something, like doing this prior to joining strips of half joined stars? I love this pattern, but have avoided due to all the weird piecing. Thank you for your time. Peace.
Are you butting the ruler inside the diamond ?
Is Diamond in a square and square in a square the same ruler and just different books or are they different rulers too?
Yes, it is the same Original Ruler that we use for all triangle units. It's amazing how One Ruler and One System can do so much! Since you mentioned the diamond unit...here is a package to look at on the website. It has the Original Ruler, the "square" Reference book and the "diamond" Reference book as a pack. Let us know if you have questions - www.squareinasquare.com/pack2
Hi I'm a bit new to quilting but think this is such a beautiful quilt. Where do you get the ruler from?
I'm going to subscribe to your channel. Mant thanks.
Thank you. We have kits of teaching with webinars and you tube and Facebook. Tools and books are on our website. Happy to have you come have fun with us. Join at squareinasquare.com
I intend to make these blocks - once I finish up all my current (long overdue UFO's) projects - BUT I can keep watching videos and not add any more physical projects.
how wide are the strip units
2 1/2"
What width strip?
Listen what she said again, you will catch it.
Half the width of the star strip + 1/2" => so the width of the strip is 4" ==> Half of it is 2" + 1/2"= 2 1/2".

Brilliant!!!
