@Dohn Joe! Belts are pretty strong and they usually last for their intended period of time. As you may know in my case, a previous mechanic didn't get the tensioner bolt tightened enough and opps there goes everything else. The best thing an owner can do is change the belt at the recommended intervals. And say halfway through the interval, they could do an inspection to see if there are any oil or coolant leaks which if any one of these substances get on the belt will shorten its life. Thanks Joe for the comment.
I just had the timing belt and water pump replaced (friend/semi retired mech). When I got it back it had a terrible rattle that changes with motor speed. It sounds like it is in the top of the engine close to the cam. sort of like a gear rubbing on something. But when you get up to speed, (about 50ish) and it gets into high gear It disappears. When rpms drop it starts again. I have had the Trans range sensor (twice) recently. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi John, sounds like you need to get back with your mechanic friend and see what he done wrong. Probably something going on with the front of the engine where the timing belt is located. A closer inspection should reveal what's going on.
stuzman52 We've done that, there was some play in the tensioner so we replaced that to no avail. Part of the problem is the lack of a decent manual for this model. We believe there may be a problem with the timing being just right. so we are going back to square one. Also, he is going to try talking to the Chevy dealer about it. I think the engine is Chevy? God I miss the days when you had a Ford and it had FORD components!! lol
John Ervin Sounds like you're on the right track John along with your friend. Got to be something in there not quite right. There's a couple of places you can get the factory manuals along with the wiring diagrams, but they're not free. About $26 dollars for a year. But here's a link to a free service manual that should help. It's listed for the Daewoo engine for Nubira and Lacetti, but these cars have the same engines as the Suzuki. You'll see the link for the 'Daewoo Service Manual'. Click on that link and it will take you to it. Good luck on your repair. www.suzuki-forums.com/suzuki-forenza-reno-forum/78338-free-service-manual-suzuki-forenza.html
If your gears are shifting hard and your LCD display is correct, more than likely your range sensor is probably okay. I would put a scanner on it to see if there are any current or pending codes. You may have tranny issues.
Good afternoon I have an epic 2.0 chevrolet, but I was revolvio the axles of cams, the reference that have both axes of cams is R 90400056 what sets them apart from each other is that one says 52 GM and the other says 51GM request help me To know which is the axis of cams of admission and which is the exhaust to install them correctly. THANK YOU.
I don't know which camshaft belongs to whether it's the intake or exhaust. That's why I marked them when I took them out to know where they came from. Maybe you can call a Suzuki dealership to know which one belongs where. Sorry...
Hello. Is it difficult to remove the fuel injectors from a 06 Forenza. I have them located just never took them out before. Will gas spill out if I remove them? Thanks
JD Koch not at all JD. You can pull the fuel pump relay and then start the engine until it runs out of gas. Then release the fuel supply line by pressing the plastic tabs on each side and pull straight back. Then there will be two bolts holding the fuel rail down. And then pull the fuel rail with the injectors straight out. I show it in one of the videos of where the head is pulled on the Forenza. Good luck! 👍
stuzman Thank you for the info. Well... I will not be able to start the engine being that I have the timing assembly all apart. I will still reference your video though.
Alexus, I don't know what size the bolt is as I sold the car three years ago. I'm quite sure it's a metric bolt. The bottom bolt is the same size as the top. Take the bottom bolt out and carry it to Lowe's or Home Depot or an automotive store and they can measure it for you. Keep in mind that you asked me earlier "what if I'm missing a bolt in my sensor could that make it still shift hard" and I said "It's possible and you definitely need to get another bolt in there." You need both bolts installed to keep the range sensor from rocking side to side. This still does not mean 100% that this is going to fix your hard shifts. You could have other issues as I can't see your car from here for a diagnostics. Good luck and hope the missing bolt fixes your issue.
tengo un suzuki forenza 2006 a que se debe que cuando voy en una curva el carro hace un sip sal como si fuera a perder el control se le a cambiado amontiguadore bola esférica terminales y no se por que lo sigue haciendo
Maybe you have an issue with the struts worn out. If you don't see an issue there, I would look over the front suspension well for any loose components.
I might as well ask here... which rebuild "KIT" did you go with, AC delco, Gates, Goodyear? Some people have been having problems with the Gates water pump on the Suzuki-Forums, they're going bad prematurely, something fails and I think the belt is getting wet, it slips and BOOM! Some replace the Gates with AC Delco and no problems thereafter... I like RockAuto by the way.
You're probably right Michael. As you may know in my case, I found that the tensioner bolt had loosen, and whoops there goes everything. Thanks for your comment Michael and take care...
Wow small working quarters this is going to be an interesting series
Actually it's a pretty easy engine to work on Rick. It's a lot better than some of them out there.
your video has helped me throughout my rebuild ... thank you
You're welcomed Brandon!

what if I'm missing a bolt in my sensor could that make it still shift hard
It's possible and you definitely need to get another bolt in there.
Okay thank u
what size bolt goes at the top is it a standard size
Top of what Alexua, valve cover ??? If so, you've got others to compare it with.
Transmission range sensor
it's the top bolt for my trs I have the Suzuki forenza I just need to know what size is the top bolt

you should also add the tags for the other cars you mentioned. that would help others out and help you get more views if you care about that

Very similar or same engine for the daewoo nubira,
Yes, very similar if not the same engine. Have a great day!

thanks much
I think the biggest problems with these cars is the timing belt only lasted about 40,000 miles from the ffactory ...
