I have just ordered the MG10XUF for live use. I currently share a Behringer Flow 8 for both live and studio. The unit is quite advanced with scene memory and stuff. It could also connect to an iPad/iPhone for more controls. However, I couldn't make quick adjustments without having to navigate menus etc. Not recommended live when you want to concentrate on the performance.. So in a nutshell, the Flow 8 remains in my studio and the Yamaha board will be reserved for live use. Let's hear it for good old analogue and knobs !! Peter.
Good morning, thank you for making the very informative video. I'm not clear on one step, can the white fx/aux 2 knob handle both functions at the same time? Let me explain: if there are monitors connected to the aux2 output on stage and I operate the white knob, do I raise/lower the channel signal or increase/decrease the effect? I understood that I can only route the effect to the aux1 output. I hope I have explained myself clearly and thank you in advance for your reply.
Hi, i noticed my yamaha mg12xuf has a very loud output compared to my other mixers. I tend to put the gain and fader volume so low. Is that normal? Doni have a deffeftive mixer? Thanks!
What is your experience with external/outboard effects and this mixer? I have a delicious Strymon Volante that I would like to use on several keyboards plus a vocal mic, definitely better than the built-in Yamaha delay options. I guess you would use one of the AUX SENDS, and then return to 9/10 or 11/12? Too bad there isn't a dedicated Stereo Return.
you mentioned that mid frequency is not provided..and you also indicate that it might be a budget issue... you should think about the soul music.. this frequency is belongs to vocal.. making one's vocals ...strength.. so its mid frequency knob is not provided in the machine.in said channels. b because these channels r designed for stereo sound or instruments... purposes..
I'm sure Yamaha would say the non-mid channels are for stereo instruments... but when you run out of regular channels and use the non-mid channels, there are times you definitely miss the mid knob.
I own and love this board. I am more video oriented. Learning this board was simple and has been a huge help.
This is really a good walk thru - a guy that has a lot of experience, but hasn't yet graduated to something else! A lot of valuable insights. THANKS!!

This console is (besides my computer obviously) the most important and cherished piece of equipment i own
This was really good and helpful! I just started a new AV job and they use these!
auctually PFL is only for setting the input level only its not for adjusting EQ
Right and wrong - if you adjust EQ, you can still hear it via PFL
i just upgrade from the mg10xu to this MG12XU and this one rules .

It would be great to show us the beginners how to connect the things you say like the subs to control them separately from the master.

Nice video. I have an MG10 that will mount on a short Mic Stand with an adapter. Can the MG12 do that? Thanks
Nice
Hi what are the two small audio gears next to the Yamaha 12 mixer .. .. can you please name out
Is the MG12X the same and 5 times cheaper? MG12XU has addition USB port for PC interface.
By the way I have the same mixer with 2 tops and 2 subs and a controller.
how loud is this? can i use it to play a gig?
It's not a powered board - you'd need to use it with powered speakers.
i have one for DJ gigs
