Back in the day there were midi companies selling general midi tracks. The problem is all the people using them sounded cheezy and lazy. Cheezy because general midi was a standard that played sounds that were basic sounds and sounded like the worst of available generic horn sounds , organ , electric piano etc. making your own is time intensive, esp for a basic player like me. I did have my own sound and sounds used were the best I could program , as close to the record as possible. It was fun but too old now…lol

if you are always using it in the studio and sitting, it doesn't matter much anyway. I saw a guitar years back (strat but can't remember if fender made... I think it was though), and some old timer was passing by seeing me look at this thing wondering why it was painted and never drilled for strap holes. he said way back they made models for studios. you can tell by the lack of strap holes for they played sitting down. I thought that was interesting

Good conversation! When I write and record, I spend inordinate amounts of time to get it how I want it and no one would want to see that process! 😆 I have spent hours just finding the perfect sound or patch to blend with the song and feel of the music.

I have two of these Goldtops - one 60s tribute with humbuckers and one 70s tribute that I swapped p90s into. Great options for someone that wants a Gibson guitar at prices less than some Epiphone cost nowadays.

A wood carver could use a CNC and make much more money, but I doubt that it would be fair to call the final product art and take pride in it. The whole DIY mindset is about achieving something on your own, at least, how I see it. I would be interested in knowing more about your songwriting process, including lyrics.

Hi, i noticed my yamaha mg12xuf has a very loud output compared to my other mixers. I tend to put the gain and fader volume so low. Is that normal? Doni have a deffeftive mixer? Thanks!
