Monstrous treasure is also what got me into juicing way back when. Personally I'm always a big fan of strongboxes but I actually like to roll them, yes it's very slow but it's worth it, especially when strongboxes are as expensive as they are currently. Although I do enjoy taking the corrupt/rare passive and just blasting as well if they're cheap.
If they changed them slightly so they felt more like a unique encounter then this would be the answer. Make it feel like a different kind of map, like how valdo's puzzle boxes are. Then sure get them juicy, but i agree wholeheartedly scarabs being able to produce several divs in currency off a t17 map makes everyone who can't run those maps miss out.
It's interesting to see a top-end to the league, even while catching up. I am enjoying your build! I used a relatively cheap Lethal Pride to fix fire resistance before moving to critical. Going to merge back with your build when I farm more. Thank you for the detailed PoB!
I can see strongboxes being good in the current meta but god damn do i hate monstrous treasure. There's something about just going into a map and blasting the mobs. Monstrous treasure is somewhat taking that feeling away and I rather not play that
it would be cool if there was a keystone on the atlas tree that made strongboxes open when you walk near them with some kind of downside to make it balanced
here's the other end of the spectrum: I love monstrous treasure, but I really dislike the scarab version, because it's either extremely expensive and only worth to run on T17 with a specific setup, or might as well not exist. To be fair though, that's the way I feel about most of the reworked scarabs and T17's in general, it hasn't been good for the game imo. Basically the sextant issue amped to 11.
I made a spell-user with the caster mastery just for this reason. I wouldn't recommend doing ambush with attacks unless you really don't mind clicking the boxes.
Can you make an update on the build? it is my first season, I was following your guide but I dont have the knowledge to know looking at your poe ninja why you made some changes in the tree, and I'd love to know more about it.
I haven’t deviated much from the Headhunter version if you look at that loadout in path of building from the guide. But I will make a video at some point here.

the "Monstrous Treasure" farming method has never fallen out of favor, GGG has just been randomly removing it and adding it too the game, it was the best farming method until they removed *prophesies* mechanic from the game, so no more monstrous treasure. players got pissed so they putt in a Div card and then that was to powerful so they removed that and then they put it in there *compasses* if i remember correctly until that got to powerfull and so on (so basicly they have been moving the way to get monstrous treasure from one mechanic to another for years now). The only time MT. was in the game but wasint one of the best farming methods to farm currency is when they made it so rare that it cost so many Exalts/Divines that there was noway to make the currency back. But every league where there is a consistent way to target farm Monstrous Treasure it has been the best or one of the best way to farm massive amount of currency
Yeah, I'm aware it's existed, and of course I sold a lot of Containment scarabs last league. In Affliction league, Legion Boxes was a thing, but not Monstrous Treasure (Legion was #1 in that farm). So at least for the past 2 leagues, I'm not aware of Monstrous Treasure or even Strongbox really being at the forefront of the high-end meta.

If you use the pilfering scarab the map boss gains 5% increased toughness per divination card he snatches. So I got 5 diviner strongboxes and did like 90% less damage to the boss. Now I'm out like 3 divines and gots no pokemon cards. Whats the trick?
Another strat that gates 98% of builds. This is what GGG needs to fix, but still can't. Fixing melee brought many builds into potential viability, but there are still ~80% of gems that are dumpster to low-mid tier that need attention. I appreciate them trying, though.
This wasn’t the case when I recorded the video, however. You could max out the diviners strongboxes you open and or…well it’s some motivation to REALLY gear out your character.
So what do us T16s andies do? I can run T17s but I refuse to as I don't think they should be in the game with rewards. So I am doing my best to keep the engament metric low.

Pilfering is based, it's so much fun with monstrous treasure, big gamba on every boss kill, biggest hit thus far was 4x I see brothers from it. Though you do get dud maps where you get like 1 div box and the boss has less then 100 cards. It's worth for the dream of 7-800+
Not since they fixed the bug. You like getting 1shot through 170k maxhit? and that was only 337 divcards. A lot of people will try this and have a really bad time.
It wouldn't make sense to do that no, not really. Between TS being way nerfed, not an emphasis on multiple projectils in this build, and all the synergies with elemental ailments.
Im doing the divination card farm strat which is netting me around 40 to 80 stacked decks per map. Is the boxes doable in t16 and is it more worth it? I tried doing it in fortress and abomination and got annoyed at needing to roll the maps
he cut the video, go back like 10 sec and you will see on the minimap that he havent got to the boss, so he cut the video after he kills the boss, and then he goes back to get the loot
For the Pilfering kill, it was either done before the hot fix or it didn’t matter because I found 0 Diviner strongboxes on that map. Looks like it’s a lot harder now
I like it more, and it's a lot more flexible for followers of the guide too. It has a ton of useful bonus mods unlike Lethal pride, which is basically all-in double damage.
I was able to get brutal restraint with 10% move speed, 12% max life, 10% ailment effect, 40% increased damage, 20% cold res for 1 divine. A good lethal pride is 20div+
I can make 5 div per h running 9 mod maps in t11-13 then using the gold to buy low n sell high using 90% of my time mapping fun content with shrines n gull

@@brodieb5066 For T17's, likely yes, but I haven't done any math on it. It basically results in twice as many strongboxes as just cramming 3x Ambush scarabs in. It also gets the benefit of the other two scarabs that double the reopen chance and improve the explicits. I'd say if it's probably worth it up to the point where it would triple the investment cost of whatever strategy you're doing relative to triple Ambush scarabs.

Good strat, but the value of the scarabs is ridiculous now. The loot this league is horrible... Feels like everyone is just trying to squeeze the one last strat that actually drops anything. Game doesn't feel worth playing unless you're in sanctum hell or t17s.
Why dont they make T-17's drop zero loot and have them in the game for leader boards and weekly challenges? Keep the farming in T-16s instead of only a handful of maps because if you use 'juice' on anything but T-17's you are a clown, and if you dont have a build that can do T-17's (but can do T-16's just fine) you might as well uninstall.

You should go around the left side of the center map wheel, all overloaded circuit does is cost you 4 extra c per map with no benefit.
I did something like that before. I skipped corrupt/rare strongbox, and 2 other. When I opened the map, the strongboxes were not corrupt or rare.

One option is to wait until Spicysushi creates a mirror tier bow for the no-fee shop, and mirror it.

Strongbox was always prime strat for mf before the scarab rework last league. It would focus on the enraged mobs and the additional mob quant.
2-3 div just to run 1 map? That's already not likely for the average player.
The more you put in, the more you get out.
