Nice quick fix Allen, I love the quick fixes. I used that company (Kwik con) once and caught them red handed, I was viewing my car from the waiting room and I noticed an engineer appear from under the car dipped his finger in the used oil container and went back under car. Soon after that the manager came in and said I need a new shock absorber well a pair basically, he said it was leaking I asked to see it and was shown oil coming from the shock, I said so it has nothing to do with the guy putting oil there then? I explained what I saw the car soon come off the ramp, needless to say I got a discount and never returned
Allen, my dad gave me his TV to work on 18 months ago to try and fix.(He'd already bought a replacement) Only a year old or so. Blinking red doom lights and won't come out of standby. Can't remember the brand. As ever with TV's space is an issue if it's stripped and waiting for parts (or a reasonably sized skip). I'll let you know how it goes when I take the plunge.
Hi Alan. Can you explain how the tape trick works on the tcon board ribbon connector to an lcd display that is playing up. I.e. blocking one or more of the clock lines. To get it to work again. Cheers
Nice easy fix for you Allen, well done.
Regards, Brian 👍👏🏴👍👏🏴
The connector for the subwoofer is known to make problems.
I had a few of this kind of sets with this issue.

@wisher21uk Engineer? That’s a real disservice to real engineers. Call him what he is, a fitter.

An easy fix is always welcome, at least capacitors give you a good clue when they start to blow their tops.
