Boy we are lucky enough in our town to have a place that does hoses for JLG and Ingersoll Rand. I've had a lot of hoses made because of my job and they've always had everything on the shelf. Like the look of those wrenches. I've been using kobolt from Lowes with great success. Take care. 🎄
I love the song you sang in the start of the video. Old equipment can be a real bargain. I had a old Case 530CK I got for free not running years ago, it cost me a lot of time and $1000 to get it running and working again. But I made money with it for years and then sold it for $2500, so in the end it was a real bargain.
It is just like this stuff I find thrown away. It costs too much to HIRE someone to fix what they have, so they pitch it. Labor will eat you alive on heavy equipment, but the parts aren't really all that expensive, especially on a Case.....a Cat is a completely different story !!
Only 30 rock city feet left to go trenching for a new water line when I noticed oil dripping from the bottom of a bucket lift cylinder hose. So here I'm learning about new hoses and tomorrow I be at Kubato or a local hose and cyl re-builders (if they are still there). Enjoyed the posts. The 2006 L39TLB -GST I just acquired has old hyd lines so I expect more problems to be solved. It's training me as I'm a newby.

My problem was I was talking when I should have been screwing !!! LOL !!! Actually, putting the far side on first caused a little tension because of the stiff hose. Once I lined it up, it went right on.
Our local parts store on the far end of town are pretty good ol boys and make hydralic hoses. Had them build my pickups power steering hose because it was cheaper and heavier duty than the factory replacement they sell in the box. Yes sir I am a cheap, lol
count the set of wrenches because they are for that machine. LOL I love your new to you tractor. By the way now you can deduct future tailgate charges since you can now lift anything you buy from the trucks.
No, I have a complete set at home, I just preferred an extra for convenience. If I lived on the farm, I would not have purchased them, so I can't justify calling the wrenches an expense, just a preference.

If you don't turn the steering wheel to open the valve, no additional fluid is gonna run out. The system is self bleeding because everything is pumped back to a holding tank that is NOT pressurized. It is just like bucket with a vented cap on it.
a broken Craftmans wrench changing an alternator on my grandpa's car about 20 years ago outside anin AutoZone my grandpa was laughing cuz we bought the wrench from the AutoZone. Needless to say the ways surprised and gave us a new one. Fist and only time that's happened in my life I'm 42 years old now., And it even surprised me that I broke it lol.
..those Pittsburg/Harbor Freight wrenches are BETTER than the crappyman's you buy nowadays. I stripped out one!! Luckily we have a hydraulic hose shop here. And, he likes to do it cheap. most times he will reuse your fittings if he can. That save ya $$$ and makes ya :-)> i think that's a smiley with a beard...
What about the hydraulic fluid? do you have to bleed the system or anything? or just add extra to the reservoir? If you are truly keeping tabs on the cost of your equipment, you really need to add in the specialty wrenches you purchased from Harbor Freight, fluid you add, etc. I am happy for you in getting what looks like a real bargain.
Well, the wrenches aren't "Specialty" wrenches and if I were to sell the backhoe, they would not go with it. And as far as fluid, you wouldn't add the cost of a tank of diesel every time you went out to do a job.

The tools at Harbor Freight may be guaranteed for life but they are Made in China. Craftsman is Made in USA. That is the difference. We have a higher standard of living than the Chinese , thank You Lord, and that is the difference in price. I for one have for many years and will continue to pay the higher prices for Made in USA products. Folks are starting to catch on so maybe more things made here will come available. Thanks for the video, I have to change a busted hose on my tractor front end loader.

With the possible exception of pipe tapered fittings, hydraulics don't require sealers. They generally seal by o-rings or in this case (JIC) tapered fittings which require metal to metal contact.
What about a "Senior" discount? Virtually all stores give Seniors a discount, although the qualifying age may vary from store to store (ages range discounts are 50, 55, 60, 62 or 65. I have been getting this discount for years.
I work on hydraulic equipment everyday. For guys like you cheap.. next time get the reusable fittings they are more but can be reused. If the ever try to sell you Parker hose don't by it it's junk.. you might want to get some angle wrenches they are great. At work it's nothing to change a dozen of more hoses 7-12 feet long.. during a monthly service.
Who said it MISSED me !!! I had to hold the lever open to move the backhoe backwards off the driveway. That hose was under pressure when trying to lift the bucket off the ground. LOL !! You will notice I am wearing a different coat !
you can get hoses cheap on eBay and one thing I do is when I blow a hose I take the old hose and cut it at the damaged area to save the good part and down the line I use them pieces later by putting a reusable fitting on the end or just press another fitting on the end. also I use an old fitting with a bolt in it as a plug instead of that plastic bag. come to think of it I think I'll enter that home made plug in your doing it cheap thing.
I'm gonna steal your idea and modify it. Gonna melt some lead and seal the fittings where they are crimped onto the hose. Make some good temporary caps for those lines !!
I am not talking about structure insulating foam. I am talking about tire foam specifically designed foe these type wheels. Most construction fork lifts will hav this installed in new tires to avoid flat tires on the work site
This guys channel is entitled "DoingItCheap". Filling tires with foam is NOT cheap. Not by a mile and unless he's using this daily to make his living, there's a lot of other things for him to spend his money on like more hoses.

Hi, What would be the procedure to make sure there is no pressure (release the pressure) on the lines before removing the hoses?
With the engine shut off turn the steering wheel all the way in both directions several times. With levers, same thing, push/pull several times.

I had multiple flat tires on my backhoe, so I took them to a guy and had them filled with some kind of rubber .Now their flat proof .

Don't buy a hose by the part number.......... take it to your local auto parts store that makes hoses.

just a word of advise. If you change front tire be sure is not a 2 ply tire will blow out with weight. I have learn this the hard way.
You are preaching to the choir !!! A lot of people do not realize the weight a front end loader full of gravel or sand puts on the front tires !!!
