I understand the no name vitriol for 3,5,7,etc. my son wanted a shirt with 35 on it and Holmes on the back. He’s from our area and he’s on our favorite team. I know it’s not a jersey but it’s the same effect. Could get a 35 but everyone would think Moose.
You're wrong. I have a Mickey Mantle Jersey, the old school one, the ivory colored one, not the clean white like they wear today. It cost me $50. Do better research
@@El-Aviccithat’s a classic jersey thats different yes jerseys with names are cheaper if you get a jersey with no name cost more what world you live lol I buy jerseys all the time
They have a problem with someone’s name on the Yankee jersey. But he has no problem with the Yankee logo on a hockey jersey that they’re giving away May 17. The other day before a game, Michael K was holding up the hockey jersey, smiling and laughing. He’s OK with the Yankee logo on a jersey that’s a total different sport
Just my opinion...I'm 100% in support of no names. I believe fans get names to specify the player they support. Clemens, Bader, Ellsbury, and Soto all have worn 22 over the last 2 decades. Soto fans want to support Soto, so they get the named jersey.
Perfect example of why this topic is stupid af. Growing up my favorite player was Alfonso Soriano if I wear number 12 now without the name people will think IKF first before Soriano the GOAT LOL @luisdaniel7027
I recently bought a bootleg 22 road grey jersey that has no name. I realized after the fact that Soto never had or will wear a jersey like it (in the near future as far as we know) because it is the road grey with the white outline/piping. No biggie, it's a Soto jersey in my heart but could also be a Clemens or Posada (he wore 22 in 1997) jersey.
Michael "they had to put the patch on there. You want them to put it on there for free? Why should they?" Why? Because when someone buys that jersey with that starr insurance patch, they're advertising for your company for free! The question should be "why should someone pay to advertise for your company?" I assure you that patch, combined with sewing it on, is MUCH cheaper than obtaining even one customer! Learn how to sell people!
Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Yes, it's ADVERTISIN! Michael and Don completely missed the point. And the jersey makers/sellers could probably get more money from the insurance company for each jersey sold with the patch because it's added exposure.
Didn’t they address that? Just don’t get it. The people who want the exact same jersey no matter what will get it and everyone else won’t. I’d be more mad if they automatically put the puke advertisements on every jersey
Yankees fans aren’t asking the Yankees themselves to put the patch on. They’re complaining that Fanatics isn’t including the patch on the “authentic” jersey. It has nothing to do with the Yankees.
When you go to the store the two options are "replica" and "authentic" authentic costs more but it's game ready. Those are the ones we're talking about.
Not a casual yankee fan and live on the west coast. Sadly the only jerseys stores out here sell Jeter and judge jerseys with the name. So in so e instances, there isn't a choice. It's what they sell
Mike and Don are going overboard. What is big deal for Yankee fans to get their favorite player name on Yankee jerseys. I get it, it’s Yankees tradition not to have players name on the back of Yankee jerseys. It’s what sell the Yankee jerseys and makes lots of cash 💰. Why would the Yankees organization stop that, this guys making mountains of mole hill.
They are getting paid to have that stupid patch on their jerseys (completely unyankeelike bad taste) then they want us to pay to put it on to be realistic
I HATE Yankee jerseys with names on the back. Like you really need to know the name of the guy who wore number 7??? If so, you're not a Yankee fan. It's that simple. And don't tell me it's the money. You can EASILY find a cheap bootleg Jersey without a name. It's pathetic already. Stop with that crap people. BE AUTHENTIC!!!!
I'd prefer that they know the names of Yankee legends from the get-go, but if not, you'd prefer keeping them in the dark? Because we both know casual fans aren't going to go down the rabbit hole without being pushed a bit.

You shouldn't talk about the names but about the price. MLB Europe Shop 456 € for the authentic Jersey. Are you insane? That is a piece of cotton. I love the Yankees but no way I would buy merchandise. Don't forget, the people need to work hard for their money. The most fans are not rich an get 30 Mio. a year.
Wait. It cost the Yankees money to put that crap on the jersey? 😮 Excuse my ignorance but I was under the impression that it was the other way around. 😅
No man, the Yankees are offering fans the option of adding that patch to their purchased jerseys for 15 bucks. Separately, the actual sponsor is paying mega bucks to have their patch on the actual players’ jerseys during games.
I don't have as much of an issue with it when it comes to legacy players. Most casual fans aren't as knowledgeable about the history of the sport, especially younger fans, so it's actually educational to display the retired number with the associated name so that people learn to appreciate what came before. I actually have a home DiMaggio jersey in the modern style that a friend gifted me. At first I recoiled, but then as I got to thinking, I realized what I wrote above. I also own a personalized home jersey with my own name and number. (I used A-Rod's number, since it's not retired and people hate him, so I can get away with it, lol) People always ask me who the name is for, and they get impressed when I say it's mine. But when it comes to active players, I absolutely agree that Yankee replica jerseys should not have names. So many players come and go anyway, that any jersey with a name quickly becomes outdated. For example: I have a nameless #0 Yanks road jersey that I got when Adam Ottavino was on the team. Talk about a wise investment. I've been able to repurpose it for him, then Domingo Germán, and now Marcus Stroman. Any fan who knows the current team will immediately be able to connect with it. I'm planning on getting a road jersey in the new style with Sóto's number at some point. I wouldn't dare have his name on it. (Imagine if I had gotten one last year with Bader's name? Talk about a waste of money.)
I can’t actually find a Soto away jersey with no name on the back it’s literally impossible because they haven’t made it yet. Literally you can check they haven’t made the jerseys yet with no name on it they always make the one with the names first so to blame the fans is literally wrong
I can accept the t-shirts with the name and number on the back. I personally wouldn't wear it,but at least I get it. It is a really cheap alternative. And perfect for casual fans. But if you're buying an actual jersey and have the name on the back, Don's right and I question how big a fan you are. No actual fan needs to be made aware who wore 7, 4, 23, 15, 51, 21, etc.
Kay only believes what Yankees push, right or wrong? He not getting this is the same as Biden not understanding why people don’t like it when cost of living is insane! The idea is on top of paying for $100+ for a jersey you have to pay extra $15 for a PATCH!
Unless you bought my jersey you shouldn’t care. It ain’t your money, it’s not your Jersey and you’re not wearing it. Get the hell off me. I got some with names and some without.
