Good to see you Cathy! Thank you for this video. I am definitely going to try these recipes. To keep myself busy, I read, watch tv, and get on my tablet. And also check on my family and friends. I am pretty much a homebody anyway, so I am doing ok...have plenty of groceries for now. It sure is a scary and worrisome time right now. I hope you and your family stay well. Please keep your videos coming...I sure look forward to them.
Thanks... I loved this... recipes are fun to watch and try... I have thought abt making this several times... now I think I will... we actually have cream of tartar... maybe a homemade version verses store bought of something... no idea what... but that would be fun to see... I’ve been coloring a little bit... I find it relaxing... I forgot how much fun it was... my father, who’s 70, joined me... just like when I was a little kid...
They both look amazing! Thank you Cathy, these will be great for breakfast. The kids will love them. Puzzles, games, drawing, painting, cleaning Have fun, enjoy your families. Make the most of this time together. Before long everyone will be back to doing what they did before and wishing they could just stay home. Blessings
Cathy thank you for providing us with videos during these trying times in this country and in the world we appreciate you!! Health & happiness to you and your family always! 😊
I love Snickerdoodles! But, I don't have any brown sugar. So, I'll give the chocolate a try! I did a lot of prep type cooking today. I made macaroni for salad and for dinner with some spaghetti sauce, hard boiled eggs for the macaroni salad and some egg salad for sandwiches, sausage gravy for biscuits, and some tuna salad for cold sandwiches and melts. I spend a lot of time doing crafts, as well as knitting and crocheting. I'm going to be a great-grandmother come the end of June and I always knit blankets for my grandchildren. 💕

Recipes Three recipes for brown sugar are as follows: Light brown sugar from white sugar and molasses: Measure 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of molasses into a mixing bowl. Stir with a fork until completely mixed. Dark brown sugar from white sugar: Measure 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of molasses into a mixing bowl. Stir with a fork until completely mixed. Dark brown sugar from light brown sugar: Measure 1 cup of light brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of molasses into a mixing bowl. Stir with a fork until completely mixed. Why This Works Molasses is a byproduct of making white sugar and contains protein, minerals, and vitamins. For example, molasses is high in manganese, potassium, vitamin B6, and more. The thick syrup acts as a sweetener and comes in various forms, including light, dark, and blackstrap. One benefit of this recipe is that it doesn't go to waste. Molasses is added back into white sugar to make brown sugar. Light brown sugar contains about 3.5 percent molasses, and dark brown sugar contains about 6.5 percent molasses. By adding molasses to white sugar, you are doing precisely what is done at the sugar factory but a discounted price. And by making it as you need it, you don't have to worry about your store-bought brown sugar turning into hard clumps. The complex and rich flavor of molasses gives an extra dimension to the taste of finished products like cookies, muffins, marinades, and sauces. Rum flavoring also adds a flavor similar to molasses. Use white sugar in your recipe and add a couple of drops to the mixture. Rum is made by fermenting and distilling sugarcane juice or molasses, so it's not wise to use actual rum, as it won't have enough of the concentrated flavor. It simply will add more liquid and alcohol to the recipe and would require other adjustments.
@Carla Siu You have been busy! I have been so lazy. 🙁 That’s so exciting you are going to be a great-grandmother! I hope things are back to normal by then. 🤞
I've made that chocolate cake for years. I have a friend allergic to eggs. My husband called it mud cake since it's so dense and moist. I sometimes make it a poke cake by melting a jar of seedless raspberry jam in the microwave and pouring it over the warm cake that I "poked" with the handle of a wooden spoon. Let it cool then spread a tub of cool whip on top. It's really good. Since I've been off work I've watched UA-cam. You can find anything of You Tube.
Thank you for continuing to make us entertaining videos. I think I have made these but it had to be more than 40 years ago when my sister and I used to bake together. My store has been out of flour and I only had about a cup left that is necessary for gravy so no cake for me. Anyway, we've been watching old movies, going out for walks and tomorrow we are getting about 5" of snow. I'm anxious to start gardening but that will have to be put on hold until it warms up. Wishing you and this community good health!
I have made the chocolate version forever. Our family calls it Shelley Stokke Cake because my friend, Shelley, gave the recipe to me over 40 years ago. We serve it hot with a butter cream sauce. You take equal parts butter, sugar and milk (can be whole, 1/2 & 1/2, cream or evaporated). You cook in a sauce pan until the sugar completely melts takes a little bit. Then you let it simmer for a little bit. Spoon some over each warm cake slice. It’s heavenly and I think it might be good on the Snickerdoodle Cake too. My kids favorite part of making this cake was pouring the vinegar on the baking soda and watching it foam up. Since we just got home from our trip I’ve been unpacking, doing laundry and paying bills. Looking forward to doing UFO’s I have I my craft room.
The chocolate whacky cake is great - after 30’ I sprinkled 1 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips over it and put it back in the oven 2’ more. When it came out of the oven I used an off set spatula (small) to smooth it evenly over the top. Yuuuummmm and it looked just like chocolate frosting. Thanx for a really fun/fast dessert recipe!
Just found your page and love your authenticity. The chocolate Wacky cake was one I grew up with and the only chocolate cake I will eat. It is even better the next day. We have done variations of it like orange, rum, and Kahlua but have not tried the cinnamon. I look forward to trying it. Thanks for sharing.
thank you so much for sharing this catchy i love baking hacks and improvised recipes like these it's very kind and helpful of you to share such things in these hard times 😇❤👍
I've made the snicker doodle cake twice now. Yesterday I made my husband one with gluten free flour. I was shocked it turned out good. Gluten free doesn't always turn out for me. Tonight I made one with regular flour. It was moist and so good. Thank you for reviewing it. Ohio goes into "stay at home" tomorrow. I may have to see if I have the ingredients for the chocolate one.
Omg yummy!! I buy new cookie sheets and always use my well seasoned sheets cause I love them!! Early spring cleaning makes me feel good and try not to think what's going on for a bit!! Getting ready for season 3 of ozarks so good!!
I'm with Don W. & have no problem filling time at home since I dont go out much anymore and so far, this quarantine has been no big deal. However, I'll soon miss my friends and movies and will go nuts in due time.
I never have restraint to wait for baked goods to cool off either! Like you, I love cinnamon. So I will be making the Snicker doodle one in about 2 min! Keep posting, your fans need this right now. Stay safe and healthy and we will get through this. Prayer helps me tremendously. I imagine that prayers are beams of light reaching God. Let's all light up the world for him♡
Hi Cathy, thanks for continuing to do videos for us. 😊 These look yummy! I’m cleaning/organizing, watching tv and walking my dogs.🐾 Today I also ordered a wig for my 80 yr old mother, she’s worried what her hair will look like in the coming weeks with no salon visits!
The snickerdoodle one looks amazing, I love anything cinnamon!! 🙂 I will have to save this recipe for a rainy day. Thank you for the recipes with out eggs, milk or butter. I am always looking for stuff to bake without egg because one of the little girls I nanny for is allergic to them.
Delicious!! I’ve made the chocolate one many times but you’re snickerdoodle cake is ((chefs kiss)) perfection!! I’ve made it three times already, luckily I have 4 kids to help me finish them *BUT* I’m afraid my future daughter-in-laws will hate me because my boys now expects this cake daily. 😂😂
Those both look good. I'd usually rather have cookies over cake--but I would definitely give them a try. QOTD: Well I'm officially board! I've started my Spring cleaning. LOL Also, I found a couple new UA-cam channels to watch and have been catching up with their past videos; playing fetch and hide the toy with the dogs; and doing some reading. I think being retired for a couple years helps, as I'm already used to planning my day and staying home most of the time.
I can tell you really like the cakes because you can't stop eating them! No, judgment. :-) I have been watching more UA-cam than normal. Next week is supposed to be in the 50's so I will be outside walking since I can't go to the gym. Currently, the plan is to still be working, many are working from home and my office is pretty isolated so until we get orders to stay home or work runs out I will be working a reduced 32 hrs with Monday's off.
Looks yummy. Definitely will try one day. I've watched the 2 shows you mentioned. I see there's a Brazil Circle. I haven't seen it yet. Also watched Holo my love.
We called the chocolate one Crazy Mans Chocolate Cake! We never frosted it. We poured some cream on top and around the cake! Yum!:) I've been watching tv and Amazon Prime! :)
Hi Kathy, I enjoy your channel. I have a depression pie for you to try. It's mock apple pie and you will be shocked it does taste like apple pie. 2 cups water, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 3 tsp cream of tartar (combine and boil hard one minute), Add: 22 whole Ritz crackers and boil 3 minutes more. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Make a crumble of 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and top pie. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
When I was a kid, my best friend's mother (who, unlike my mother, was a good cook) made Ritz mock apple pies on occasion. They were great and really did taste a lot like apples.
Oh my... that Snickerdoodle cake would make a great breakfast! I wonder if that batter would work in a waffle maker? Mmmmm! (I could pass off anything with cinnamon as a breakfast!😉) QotD - Right after you mentioned Love is Blind, my niece also mentioned it to me, so I binge watched the season too. I always want to believe these shows are real, but the Damian/Giannina match wasn't very believable. Other than that, I really did enjoy the season. 😁
I'm stuck home anyway, so this doesn't affect me much at all. I write, play RPG games (Auteria or Eternal Lands if anyone is interested), and sometimes I watch tv. I like Wife Swap and comedy sitcoms such as The Big Bang Theory and Malcolm in the Middle. I don't have Netflix, else I'd get lost there watching Fuller House and Love Calls the Heart(I think that's its proper title).
🐥 they look go good. I am gonna make one tonight and the other tomorrow . I’m gonna make one with pumpkin pie spice . Hope it works. I’m doing a lot of crocheting . And cleaning my house . Hope it gets better soon . Like I said my kids work medical field . Won’t see them till it’s ok . Miss them especially my great grand baby . Addy is my partner in crime. Stay safe❤️🙋♀️
Hi, What I am doing to keep busy while I am stuck inside is: I am watching UA-cam videos, reading my emails and I am binge watching: thee incredible Dr. Pol on Net Geo Wild.
I’ve been binge-watching shows on Acorn TV. I love British and Aussie shows. Other than that, I’ve been pretty useless. Lol I have a million things I should be doing, but I guess I’m not quite bored enough yet. 🤷🏼♀️
What am I doing? I baked a cake at 5 AM this morning. No, seriously. I had eggs though. I had enough eggs that I made egg salad yesterday. I still have a gallon of milk. I’m running low on bread. But I have flour and a bread machine. I just don’t know what I’m going to do about that. I got a check in the mail from the mortgage company this week and was really dismayed. I didn’t want to go out to the bank because my family is very high risk. So I ended up downloading the app from the bank and depositing the check from home. I know these apps have been around for years. But I was so happy to be able to use it when I needed it most.
LOL good video! The cakes did look good. I wish I could cook! But I'm a guy. (Edited because the ads on UA-cam wouldn't let me keep writing.) Without getting too personal I've been off for a long time I've already gained 60 pounds. And this junk is not helping. To pass the time I've been playing video games and sleeping trying to fight my depression as well. But I do get comfort in watching a lot of UA-cam videos. and that's how I passed the time.
I have used mayonnaise or apple sauce in place of eggs. I am currently reading "The Tattooist of Auschwitz, re watching The Office for the 100th time, I have dyed my hair (possibly a questionable color) and have began making those hospital masks.
QOTD: I've been catching up on my favorite shows and my favorite UA-cam channels and also working on my own channel. I'm normally an introvert but I'm dying to get out. Had planned to go to the store for some necessities but then it started down pouring rain. Ugh!! 😕😐 Hope y'all stay safe. 💙💜💚
as for what I'm doing to stay busy I'm mostly watching DVD's Blu-Ray's and Playing Video games around the clock also like most i am binge watching stuff online whenever our landlord's horribly weak and unreliable Wi-Fi makes that even possible
I love love love a ‘channel’ called “Acorn TV”. It presents shows mainly based in Australia, England, Ireland and such... I think of it as all the great British fair out there. You can find comedy, drama, educational, documentary... pretty-much anything you can imagine. My FAVE type are the shows having to do with crime! “Acorn TV” is not free, but it is about half that of Netflix, which I also subscribe to. All together, I pay for three services which are “Netflix”, “Acorn TV” and “Curiosity Stream”. And goodness me, there are TONS of the free services, as long as you don’t mind putting up with commercials with some of them. Take care folks and stay safe.✨🤗✨. Be like this==>😷, not like this==>🤒. STAY AWAY FROM CROWDS FOR THE TIME BEING!!!
stop baking cakes that will make you gain 50 lbs, lol, cook up something healthy so we can fight this epidemic, do that with the cans in your pantry. even though I would eat the cake, I would still like to have a side dish to go with it. lol well I spend most of the time all by myself these days either watching youtube on the bad days or on the good days going out to the lake going for a walk and enjoying the fresh air waiting for it to warm up just a little bit more to drop a line in and catch some fish. plus I am waiting for the ground to dry out a little more so I can go play some disc golf or at least try.
@@2centchick well there is a meal in itself, lol, but if you add the tuna to a box of mac n cheese you can stretch that meal just a little bit further. maybe show how to make some no knead bread which is very easy to do I can go search my recipe if you would like me to. I could send ya a couple of youtubers I like to watch that are cooking things up with very little if you would like them.
So what has this virus, now left in its wake?
A reason for Cathy, to stay in and bake!
They're crazy, they're wacky, no eggs, milk, or butter
Three things made by chickens, or from a cow's udder
Her pantry's well stocked, Cathy's such a good cook
I might have four of those things, if I take a hard look
I do have eggs, milk, and butter, but I really don't bake
And with all of those, it is breakfast, I'd make
Along with some toast, bread was no easy find
Cake is last on my list, I hope you don't mind
But if I had kids, and knew my way 'round the oven
I'm certain these cakes, Cathy made, they'd be lovin'
I'm sheltered in place, not much change from before
Even prior to this, I don't go out much no more
Since retiring from work, about eight years ago
There's much less I need, or places I must go
So TV and Facebook, and UA-cam fill time
And once in a while, I get to write a cute rhyme.
So please all keep safe, and stay in if you can
And give me a "like", if my rhymes, you're a fan
👏👏 Another good one!
You know I love your rhymes! Glad to hear you are staying safe. 💕
ALWAYS a fan!!!
a big fan here no question about it, that is for sure, but I really tune in for that cute little blonde who is the real star of the show.
Huge fan Don👌

just ad some molasses to the white sugar and it will become brown, that is how brown sugar is made. look it up for the right units of each because you don't want to over do it.
Recipes
Three recipes for brown sugar are as follows:
Light brown sugar from white sugar and molasses: Measure 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of molasses into a mixing bowl.
Why This Works
Molasses is a byproduct of making white sugar and contains protein, minerals, and vitamins.
Alternatives Without Molasses
If you don't have or want to use molasses, you can try these alternatives:
Try adding a tablespoon of maple syrup to a cup of granulated sugar. It will result in a slightly different flavor element. Real maple syrup works best, but maple-flavored syrup could be used in a pinch.
Agave nectar also can be used, mixing a tablespoon with a cup of granulated sugar.
Buckwheat honey has a strong flavor much like molasses. Mix a tablespoon of it into a cup of white granulated sugar.

Oh wow! I have never heard of that. When I can find some sugar I’m going to try it. Thanks
@@2centchick I don't know about now but for many years, the recipe was right on the box.
Oh my... that Snickerdoodle cake would make a great breakfast! I wonder if that batter would work in a waffle maker? Mmmmm! (I could pass off anything with cinnamon as a breakfast!😉)
QotD - Right after you mentioned Love is Blind, my niece also mentioned it to me, so I binge watched the season too. I always want to believe these shows are real, but the Damian/Giannina match wasn't very believable. Other than that, I really did enjoy the season. 😁
I agree, Damian and Giannina are not a good match! And I’m so glad Jessica and Mark didn’t make it. He is too good for her.
@@2centchick - I couldn't agree more!
That snickerdoodle cake could be even better with a streusel topping, since you mentioned it was like a coffee cake.
That would be really good!
These are gr8 if one has a 'sweet tooth' yet trying to eat LOW FAT...thx for sharing..
Drinking Purple Haze ~ cheers! 🥰
Yum! 😃
Time to officially go solo and rename the channel 2 cent chick !
I think you are right!
Im able to work from home through my office PC but I wish I had more time to clean & binge watch shows lol
Pumpkin spice is a good idea! Stay safe! 💕
Hi,
What I am doing to keep busy while I am stuck inside is: I am watching UA-cam videos, reading my emails and I am binge watching: thee incredible Dr. Pol on Net Geo Wild.
Where is Robin?? I soooo miss her!! Is she ok??
I’ve been binge-watching shows on Acorn TV. I love British and Aussie shows. Other than that, I’ve been pretty useless. Lol I have a million things I should be doing, but I guess I’m not quite bored enough yet. 🤷🏼♀️
I’ll have to check that out, thanks!
I have so many things to do too, just no motivation.
You can always substitute mayonnaise for eggs fyi/ and watching you
Thanks
BRILLIANT‼️ 👍 😋 QOTD: Why watching UA-cam, naturally ‼️ 😂
😀
The bank app is awesome! I don’t remember the last time I went to the bank to deposit a check. Stay safe!
QOTD...it's a great time to be a hermit. I've trained for these days all my life. LOL Not much changes really.
LOL 😀 It’s your time to shine! 😂
Interesting concoction, have you ever thought of making a gluten free version? I have a vegan sister that I'd like to surprise one day :-)
05gtdriver If I ever make a gluten free version I will let you know.
@@2centchick Oh, way nice of you! Hope you're keeping safe in this crazy atmosphere we're all facing. Keep reviewing so we can all keep tuning in 😉.
Teaching my cat tricks.😂😂😂
😂
If you need something to watch all american, atypical, cheer, when they see us, unbelievable these are all on Netflix
Thanks!
where are you from you look very familiar.
I’m from KY, I live in TN now.
I’m sorry your not working right now. Stay away from the news and only watch videos that make you laugh. That’s what I’m trying to do. Be safe! 💕
@@2centchick thanks you

Watching 2 cent chicks and freaking reviews
Love it! Thank you! 💕
James of freaking reviews is cute
I have used mayonnaise or apple sauce in place of eggs. I am currently reading "The Tattooist of Auschwitz, re watching The Office for the 100th time, I have dyed my hair (possibly a questionable color) and have began making those hospital masks.
You have been busy!
where is robin
She no longer has time for the channel because of her work schedule.
What does your husband do for work Kathy? Stay safe where you're at!
Thanks! Stay safe!
I work at biglots, so I’ve been working👍
Stay safe! Have you busy?
2¢ Chicks yes ma’am. And always.
Kathy is totally hot!
Aww thanks! 😊
Yes she is!
She's a beautiful lady. :)
as for what I'm doing to stay busy I'm mostly watching DVD's Blu-Ray's and Playing Video games around the clock also like most i am binge watching stuff online whenever our landlord's horribly weak and unreliable Wi-Fi makes that even possible
Watch the cable girls good show
looks like brownies
Woundering if I could make them keto!

Anne with an E on Netflix
Thanks
wheres robin?BTW you seem very stressed!
Madam Secretary...Netflix.

Be safe!

these look like the are vegan
STAY AWAY FROM CROWDS FOR THE TIME BEING!!!
stop baking cakes that will make you gain 50 lbs, lol, cook up something healthy so we can fight this epidemic, do that with the cans in your pantry. even though I would eat the cake, I would still like to have a side dish to go with it. lol
well I spend most of the time all by myself these days either watching youtube on the bad days or on the good days going out to the lake going for a walk and enjoying the fresh air waiting for it to warm up just a little bit more to drop a line in and catch some fish. plus I am waiting for the ground to dry out a little more so I can go play some disc golf or at least try.
LOL To be honest I don’t have a lot of canned goods. I think I have tuna and baked beans. Lol
@@2centchick well there is a meal in itself, lol, but if you add the tuna to a box of mac n cheese you can stretch that meal just a little bit further. maybe show how to make some no knead bread which is very easy to do I can go search my recipe if you would like me to. I could send ya a couple of youtubers I like to watch that are cooking things up with very little if you would like them.
ken strampe I am thinking about a no knead review. I have watched a few different videos.
