Thank you for showing us our culture through the lens of our neighbors. When I lived in Germany, I was visiting the Alps. One Sunday morning we drove by an Alpine church and the parishioners were spilling out of the church wearing dirndls and lederhosen. I thought “they have no idea how special of a moment this is for me ❤ edit: love from Texas!
American's are like a huge family. We may have our differences and fight like siblings, but like a family if you mess with one of our brother's or sister's you better be ready to take us all on. A dysfunctional family we may appear to be, but we can come together quickly when need be.
This was definitely the case for the US in the early and mid 2000s. However, post covid, it's a bit of a shit show that I'm not sure would fully come together like it did after 9/11 or in this video .
I remember this night and the emotions I felt. I've seen this video and the emotions are always the same - gladness that someone so evil is gone, sadness for the people who have suffered because of him, pride in those who persisted in bring justice for those we lost and for their families, relief that a chapter of this tragedy was finally closed. Thank you for reacting to this.
I remember that night well. A lot of people think Americans are obnoxious when we chant "USA" but it's not directed against anyone, it's just pride. ❤ from Boston
I agree, it’s not meant obnoxiously. We are like one big sports team and do that for ourselves as moral. Thats how we bond. The patriotism might be the only thing we have in common with other Americans.
I remember waking up randomly out of my sleep and looking at the TV and seeing it running across the bottom of my screen. I remember I kept rubbing my eyes and thinking I was dreaming. It was if God woke me up...I will never forget it. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙 God bless America!! 😢
Don't worry about the waterworks, Ms Carol! This is at least the fifth or sixth time I've watched this clip, and i still ball my eyes out! Love from Oregon ❤
Since Carol loves to learn... you guys should do reactions to the Fat Electricians videos. He reports a lot of amazing American history stories. I love your channel and keep making awesome content you guys!
Philadelphia native and long time resident here. Was living in the lower NE part of Philly when this happened. The city, particularly a few parts, went nuts when the news hit. If wasn't late on a Sunday - hence lots of people working on Monday, the crowds in cities like Philly, New York, DC, Boston, Chicago, LA, etc. would have been nuts.
I still remember this night. For context, I’m a veteran. I joined because of 9/11. I was out of the military at this point, and I happened to be in a band. My band happened to be playing a show that night. It was the end of a 5 day run with some good friends of ours, and we happened to be the headliner this night. Right before we went on stage, I got a text from my dad letting me know what happened. I told my band mates, and they decided that I should tell the crowd. We had shots prepared, I told the crowd what happened, cheersed the crowd, and immediately broke into our first song. I had a lot of drinks bought for me that night. Def a night I’ll never forget. Thanks for your reaction. Love the channel!
I've seen this many times, and I still get tears in my eyes thinking about all of those who were killed by this evil man (if he was even a man) . Love From Michigan and it's a beautiful evening ❤️ ❤ Sending You 2 a hug 🫂
I remember a line from a spiderman movie that said, "You mess with one of us, you will have to deal with all of us". We have our issues like brothers and sisters do, but Lord help anyone that would attack us from outside the family. We Americans love our people and our friends around the world...
I remember that night like it was yesterday. I had just got home from my Beer League Hockey Game. My wife was watching tv and the President was walking to the podium for the announcement. I got home at the right time. That was a huge moment for all of America 🇺🇸
I was in the Army when this happened. I was in training, and we had just got finished for the night and was doing last formation...we just finished and were heading back in, when suddenly our Platoon SGT called us all back Immediately... hurried up and got back into formation...and all he said was "We got him"...nothing else but we all knew what he meant, and we cheered, cried, everything
We might be from different countries but we are all one on this little planet called Home.... That night was for us All! Sending y'all love and light! USA,USA,USA!!!
My small city probably had a lot of company that night Streams of cars horns ablazin' Ever Flag in town was brought out. Shops running out of beer. So much hatred released in joy
I love your shirt from New Jersey! It's a beautiful video and was a beautiful night! I'm a Phillies fan. I live just south of Philadelphia, PA. When I first saw this video, I cried. I was proud of my Phillies. It was funny about the one Mets player that was originally from Canada. Thank you for your reaction.
I remember where I was. I live in Alaska so it was still kinda early. We are 5 hours behind New York time. I was cooking dinner listening to the TV and when the President came on, I turned dinner down and started jumping up and down when he broke the news. I have many friends and family that were military. I kept thinking that they will be coming home soon.
Awww as a Michigan's with alot of ancestors from Sweden, it's amazing seeing you share again(I remember the first reaction) this video. It really was one of our greatest nights and mornings for many of us. Proud to say I have a little bit of Swedish in me!!
I had seen this before, but it still brought out all the emotion of the first time I saw it. I loved how you reacted to it, as it was almost exactly how I did. First, wonder, then engrossment in the video, then pride as the chant began and got louder and louder, and then finally the tears started flowing, just like the first time I saw it.
I remember the relief I felt when I watched Obama speak. I remember crying. Funny the emotions are all coming back watching the video recap. I was a teenager in TX at the time this happened ❤
Another things to remember it was really symbolic because they never made it to the decade. After the 2004 video from the guy, getting him before the 10 year meant so much.... The year of we all knew it was the 10 year anniversary.
I worked an afternoon shift job at the time. We had TVs (muted) on cable news channels and we saw headlines going across the bottom of the screen. We were a bit stunned by the new. Everyone was trying to find news articles online to get details. I got off at 11:00 pm and made it home in time to watch the news conference.
This game was longer than normal; most baseball games last 9 innings. Baseball does not permit tie games, so they'll play extra innings as long as it takes to determine the winner. They recently added a pitch clock to shorten how long a game lasts.
The thing that gets me. Here are 2 teams from areas that BOTH experienced terrorist attacks , playing against eachother and during THIS game, is when the man responsible was taken out. How ironic. One team may have been declared the winner of the game, but BOTH got their vengence .
I grew up near Philly and now that Im married, I live in the home area of Todd Beamer, one of the heros from Flight 93. I was in 2nd grade (7yrs old) during 9/11/01. When Bin Laden was deleted, I was in 11th grade (17 yrs old). One of the things I thought was such a wonderful miracle was that this game that was happening "in my own backyard" involved two teams that are based in states most immediately/impacted by 9/11/01. People from Philly commute to NYC often since they are so close together. People in Philly were wondering if Philly was gonna get hit at some point because we were the next major city between the Baltimore & D.C. area. Flight 93 was taken down in a field in Shanksville, PA by Todd Beamer and other selfless passengers. The fact it was large group of PA and NY meeting in one place on national TV at the time still sends chills down my spine because it meant and means so much to us in the Tri-State area (PA/NJ/NY).
you may realize this but the two teams playing were representing the two communities directly affected by the attacks. New York Mets obviously from New York and the Phillies where the game was played are in Pennsylvania where Flight 93 crashed into a field. Thank you for doing this video
This game was really long & went into extra innings. It also started later because it was a nationally televised regular season game. MLB games, without extra innings (kinda like overtime), range from 2 to 2.5 hours. If there’s a ton of hitting, game could go on longer.
I remember when this happened. Many people went out In the street where I live and started to yell, USA. Especially on campus where I live in Madison Wisconsin.
Kind of off subject but I've notice you kind of have a southern drawl. Your really not from Texas are you ? I love the work you guys do and God bless yo both
I was pregnant with my daughter when this happened. I remember watching this game, and then the President's announcement, I broke down crying, so thankful that she was going to be born in a world where there was one less terrorist. She was born three weeks later, and knows all about this event ❤️🇺🇸
I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news. Me and my cousin were walking through a Walmart in Shreveport, Louisiana and saw it on a display tv in the electronics section and heard people celebrating. It was a wonderful moment of complete strangers coming together when we finally served justice over 9/11, an event that was seared into a generation’s conscious. Despite our differences and disagreements never forget how our country rallied together in the face of adversity and when justice was had over such a tragedy. God bless the United States armed forces.
i was 9 years old when bin laden got killed. i spent 3 years from 6 to 9 years old using a map of mine to try to figure out where bin laden was , n i figured he was somewhere in pakistan. i was somehow right
The strange thing is and many younger Americans don’t know is that Bin Laden was once a quasi-ally to the US as we supported the Afghan rebels vs the Soviet Union in the 80’s. Kinda an enemy of my enemy is my friend type of deal. Once the Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan OBL no longer served a purpose to the US and he became even more radicalized towards the west.
Heartbreaking to think it would take something as catastrophic as 9/11 to remind Americans that it's supposed to be us against them and not all this internal conflict that's been separating all of us.
I think at the time Europeans wanted to downplay this event because this event took place was when some of the countries were opening their communities to migrations and didn’t want it to be seen as hostile to those who could have sympathized with Bin Laden. Also by this time, a lot of Europeans made their opinions clear they were not a fan of the US. I think lately that has changed in some ways, it seems like there’s more Europeans trying to do their own research and have stumbled upon information like this. The thing is that Bin Laden aim was the West, but specifically targeted the US for being the remaining hegemony. The pain he brought upon our country can never have words for the loss we bore, no language could describe it. Yet through that pain, twice he managed to get the country to unify and get us through the suffering he imposed on us, the irony.
I wish we could take some of that American solidarity and brotherhood even with people who you don't like or have different opinions, and they were able to remember. Were all one country. Doesn't seem to be that way anymore. No country can take us down. If we go down it'll be by our hand.
May 1, 2011. The day we delivered on the promise that no matter how long it takes, if you do harm to us, we will bring you to justice. The video that day were it shows then President OBama, Hillary Clinton and others watching it all go down is amazing. You don't what is actually happening but their faces you can only imagine what their seeing

Your love and appreciation for the United States really touches my heart. Thank you
I was actually at that game. I will never forget the crowds reaction.
My boyfriend at the time was there with friends but was watching live on tv. What an extremely boring & frustrating game! 😂
Carol, don't "get better"just be yourself emotions and all.Cold Carol wouldn't be the same❤.

@danmanak I have been here since February of 1988. I stepped off the plane in Barrow or Utqiagvik on Valentines day.
I really hope our great country can come together again like we used to. It's so different now.
Its another day that you will remember exactly where you were when you found out.
Thank You for your support.Love from U.S.A.
As a Philadelphian, I would like to request some more reactions to the birthplace of our nation, Philadelphia. Thanks, love u guys
As someone with family roots that go back to 1738 in the Philly area (you can still visit their house 😂), I second this! 😊
Baseball games are 9 innings unless tied after 9 then they go on until someone wins. :)
Wonderful reaction video! (In a prior video comment, I said it was never ok to assassinate anyone. Is it too late to add an exception or two to that?)

Still brings tears to my eyes.
That night was one of only two times I ever called my parents that late at night.
I remember the relief I felt when I watched Obama speak. I remember crying.
Funny the emotions are all coming back watching the video recap.
I was a teenager in TX at the time this happened ❤
Key point are the teams playing! New York Mets and Philadelphia PA (where one plane went down.)
No matter what, I adore you. (Ohio)
I really appreciate your reactions and love your 'love' for the United States.

You should react to when Obama made that announcement.

" POTUS" is news and insider speech for "President of the United States".

I think it's quite sad and possibly a little ironic that the people that dislike or hate the US the most is the western world itself. Countries not in the western world but still US allies have high favorability for the US. But Europe is much more likely to dislike the US despite getting the most benefit.
I blame propaganda
