Omnia Sol- Let Your Heart Be Staid

- Billings West High Meistersingers performing Z. Randall Stroope's masterpiece: Omnia Sol.
Somewhere far from nowhere, I grew both strong and tall
Longing to become, but knowing not the path at all!
But the footprints of the winter melted to fields of spring;
One last embrace before I cross the threshold: To life we sing!
O stay your soul and leave my heart its song!
O stay your hand; the journey may be long!
And when we part, and sorrow cant be swayd.
Remember when, and let your heart be staid.
Omnia sol temperat,
Absens in remota.
Ama me fideliter,
Fidem mean noto.
Weave the dance and raise the chorus; grieve no more
Through the strength of Orion, find refuge from the shore!
Let courage be your oar, let passion be your sail;
Wisdom and truth will guide your deep hearts yearning, though all travail!
O stay your soul and leave my heart its song!
O stay your hand; the journey may be long!
And when we part, and sorrow cant be swayd
Remember when, and let your heart be staid.
Omnia sol temperat,
Absens in remota.
Ama me fideliter,
Fidem mean noto.
Omnia sol temperat, (Ah ah ah ah ah ma)
And when we part, and sorrow cant be swayd
Remember when
Remember when
And let your heart be staid Be staid.
We sang this for my high school graduation... and it makes me cry like a baby every single time. This song is not only beautiful, but it holds so many wonderful memories for me :') This was the perfect way to end my last year of high school.
Joshua Wibbens army?
xLostSunrise I sang this for one of my high school concert.
This was sung at my graduation as well!
I also sang this for my high school graduation. First performed it at an all conference choir my freshman year and fell in love with it ever since. Great way to end my high school music career
Same here! This was my high school graduation song too
Ugh, we sang this for choir...so glad. Love this song, and still sing it to this day...and that was 4 years ago!
Why the ugh?
And now 14 years ago...still singing it!
@@TheChorister51 A happy, content "ugh" of reminiscing!
We sang this at Large Ensemble Competition on the 15th. Before we performed, my choir teacher said, "When you sing this song, remember what you are singing about. This song is about the fact that every soul you encounter, you leave a piece of yourself in their heart. One day you will all grow up and move off to college and probably never see me again, but just remember that there will always be a part of your soul in my heart, and there will always be a part of my soul in your heart." And it made the song so much better and more emotional. When I got off the risers, my heart was beating a mile a minute and all I wanted to do is cry. This song is amazing, but it's 10x better if you feel it, not just sing it.
One of the most beautiful chorus pieces I have ever worked with .
I would recommend this song for choirs.🎵🎶🎼🎹
My senior year of HS in 2014, my dad lost his battle to cancer. In his final months, we had worked on this song in choir. He knew the director well, so the day of his memorial service a bus was loaded up at school and the choir came to sing around us. This was one of the songs.
My all girls choir just did this. My favorite choir song ever! The end gets pretty high for soprano though.
I sang this song last night for a choir concert. I'm a soprano... AHHHH
Still good song though..

Agust D dropped D-2 not too long ago and bts came out with a new single called Dynamite💜
I remember singing this in my honor choir back in 2008 and 2010. I was a tenor 2 and my goodness this brings back so many memories. Makes me cry still
SirThundaMuffin same here. Tenor 2
Me too. It has "it" whatever "it" is.
this song is so beautiful. doing it for concert coming in march. can't wait. best part is that every harmony sounds like could be its own melody. every part sounds so nice
At my high school we sing this every year at our last concert and we have all seniors stand in front and hold hands..... im a senior, imma cry
5 years later I’m still playing this and singing along. So beautiful.
There's always the one person that has to sneeze during the quiet part. xD
Love this song. Loved it since the first day i sung it with my high school choir years ago.
i almost blew my speakers listening to this on the loudest it could possibly go
Lovely, sensitive delivery. Beautiful: you got inside the essence of the song.
This is the graduation song for Hauppauge Eagles. I graduated in 2018 and will never forget when I sang this how nice it felt to say goodbye to all my friends and have a Mini Concert for the last time. Whenever I hear this it send shivers down my spine.
My choir sings this every year as a send off to seniors and everyone cries, I can't wait to hear it as my send off this year
Dr. Stroope's wife is my choir teacher, they are my favorite people on this planet.
My choir is singing this at our graduation this year. it makes me cry every time
Best song ever! Sing this in my choir every year! At Graduation and Contest!
Best Choice for choirs, hands down!!
Gorgeous song. My choir was just assigned this, and I can't wait to sing it.
Also, LOL at whoever in the audience sneezed during the climactic pause.
This song will stay with me forever. It was sang by past and present members of my high school in honor of a classmate that had passed away. I hardly knew him, but after hearing what a wonderful person he was along with the singing of this song, made me cry like a baby.
Alto part
I'm 30 and I sung this in high school. My son is now in middle school and has started chorus ! I about just cried listening to this with him😭🤣😭🤣😭💀 this was THE BEST SONG we did and WEEP NO MORE was my FAVORITES !! out of school for the rest of the year and only saw my son in one concert so far but I cant wait til next yr. My last yr in high school I was in chorus 1st period and concert choir 2nd.. I was in both! And was carrying him 🥰‼ now hes 12 and I'm 30 this song just brung back so many memories. And I'm a cry baby 🥵😩😭🥰
Thoughtful and beautiful! Nice job. Remember those HS Choir days. They will stay with you always.
I sang this at a choir gathering of a whole bunch of choirs, and we had over 200 people singing. It was amazing!
My choir is singing this tomorrow for our High School Spring Concert!! I love this song!!
my favorite choir song💛
I had to memorize this song for the graduation at my high school and it is so beautiful I catch myself singing it all the time and I bawled my eyes out.😭😭😭😭
My grade is singing this for middle school choir concert. It's so beautiful!
Me too
We sang this for the seniors at my chorus concert last night. It was so emotional because I’ll miss them all
this was the all country choir song this past year. i didn't go because only chorus 3 and 4 people could but the whole class had to learn it and i fell in L.O.V.E. I've never heard it sang as beautiful as this though
Sang this with the college choir for our spring concert. Definitely my favorite of all the songs we did.
Singing this song for the seniors commencement this year... sort of in memory for a student who died and would be graduating.
RIP Jake Revere, I never had the chance to meet you.
Absolutely beautiful. Unlike many mediocre choirs, the vowels and dynamics are all consistent and open. I can always appreciate that. The sopranos have a lovely, well-blended sound rather than it being screechy. Hard to achieve. All around the choir sounds fabulous. Well done!
wow this is really good! my choir sung this in the begining of the year and it makes me tear up just thinking about how emotional we all were when we sung this song...its a wonderful thing to be in choir...
me and the advance womens choir at my school sang it at our pyramid consert, one of the kids who was listening seid" it toutched my heart" and i almost cryed when i heard the kid say that :') i lovet his song
sung this last night brought me to tears
man i remember preforming this with like 150 other people in my choir and past students of our teacher it was epic i love this song so much
This was our choir's graduation song for two years in a row. We voted it that way... but our nationally known choir in 2011 was completely dissolved, all 60 previous members, graduated by 2012. I've never had a real family, we're so broken. I find that this song takes me back to the only family I've ever had... just as broken. But every time, this song in all it's warm sadness, makes me cry. The song is that tearing feeling underneath a smiling goodbye.. the one that wants to to never let go.
We (The band) and the choir play and sing this every year at the graduation ceremony for our school.
We sing this every year as a farewell for choir and I can't believe that this time I'll be the one graduating
were singing this in chorus. thank you for for uploading this
I sing this song for my choir in Singapore. It is a very smooth song
Great performance! I'm super glad I could find this version of it too
Reminds me of ours...
love this song we sung it in high school one of my fb friends loss her daughter today it brung me here she was only 4 breaks my heart needed to hear this before bed
We sing this to our seniors every year, probs gonna cry
I remember doing this in high school. This is a pretty impressive HS choir. And I know, I went to a school that was in the Grammy Signature Schools all 4 years I was there. You guys should be proud.
I'm graduating from high school this year, and I'll be singing this song at the Spring Concert in May, which, unless you count Senior Salute, will be my final concert.
About to sing this for my senior awards. I love it
this gave me chills! love this song.
The balance is coming along nicely!
A love this song, and this is such a great performance!
AMAZING I love this song
I'm a senior in the college choir, and I couldn't get through it without bawling.
I sang this freshman year and I'm singing it this year for All District choir. Very lovely :)

I have heard this before but never sung it. We are using it as out closing number at our chorale performance this semester, and adding an alumni choir. I think it's the perfect goodbye piece and I get emotional every time we sing it. Can't wait for the audience to share this emotion.
Such a beautiful & heartwarming song.
I sang this in February for my SWACDA Nationals Mixed Choir :)
I loved this experience, especially this song!
It was my favorite ♥
It made me cry too!
I LOVE this. So amazing and beautiful.
Beautifully done. Great job, everyone.

I have goosebumps.
I have to sing this for graduation this year and I cry almost every time I hear this song, it's so beautiful. I don't know how I will be able to sing this in front of so many people......
+Daria Buhtoiarova How did it go?
Learning this song in my bass choir class, it's the Tenor Baritone Bass version but it's still an awesome piece.
This song makes me cry! we are doing it in my choir classes and it is sooooo pretty! OUTSTANDING!
always make me tear up
We sent the seniors off with this my junior year of highschool. It immediately stuck and has been sung every year since at graduation (including mine!)
This is a different arrangement than what I'm singing in my choir right now - our music is a men-only piece. Fortunately, this means the basses, myself included, get to sing the coolest parts. :)
Thanks so much this is helpful
singing this for graduation... definitely gonna cry
wow we actually did pretty well...i was surprised we were the best compared to the other versions of this song on youtube.
ok. I'm going to go cry now.
This is a beautiful song. I sang it with my senior chorus last year.... I really miss it.
You guys did great!
That was Bueatiful!
My Middle school choir and I are singing this song this year
Minor criticisms aside, this was a very, very good performance of this song. Beautifully sung- I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Last year when I was a freshman we had to sing this at our final concert and my friend couldn't make it through the song😭😭
the facial expressions, and vowels are WONDERFUL. i love this, i even downloaded it onto my mp3. nicely done. (:
NHS sang this in honor of Newberg graduates. Alot of tears.
Its a bit of an unspoken audience rule to be absolutely silent during any performance. I understand that sometimes you can't help it, but that coughing guy really irked me. If its bad enough that you need to cough 6 times during the song, you should excuse yourself. The same goes for children, in my opinion. If your kids are incapable of being quiet, please don't bring them to the concert.
I know that I sound bitter, but it just bothers me a lot when music is marred by coughing or loud kids.
I agree
This is what everyone should already know. Our choir teacher always said this before any concert
Every choir concert culture is different. Some have a concert culture of inclusivity over silence
I was thinking the exact same thing!
Wonderful. One slight mistake, though: it should be "me am noto" not "mean noto". Otherwise, PERFECT.
Well sung.
I sang this at a harmony workshop and my friend and I started sleeping it was so calming. I was an alto
My choir is going to be singing this next concert! I'm o excited to hear how great it'll sound when we get everything to come together! This is beautiful!
you sang this beautifully! i did this song with my choir last year and it's amazing!
wow this was amazing. We sang this for our IASAS choir and it is my fav. song we sang as a choir. Beautiful job guys!
My choir is singing this (: We love it soo much, Im so glad to be apart of choir and sing this song (:
The tune to this song is really nice. I have to play this song as my audition piece to be high schools choral accompanist :D. It gets confusing when there are four staffs you need to play :D
AMAZING SONG!!!!!!
Although everytime I hear it, I start to tear up because I sung it with my Concert Choir at my classmates funeral service.
I want it sung at mine as well.
I sang in a chorus a few years ago, and I have a recording of that. I want it played at my funeral, so I'll be one of those giving this prayer to those I leave behind.
We sang this for graduation. It was so emotional. Sounds beautiful(:
