- In this video I show you a new all in one superstore for the materials you need for on foot engineering in Elite Dangerous Odyssey. Follow me farming the settlement to see how you can do it too.
The new settlement is 'Scholey Mineralogic Platform' on planet 1 C A in the 'Ti Wanjang' system.

I did this settlement a few hours after your delightful vid. Filled my boots. I took 2 e/breaches to facilitate a quiet entry into cmd area. Otherwise, I had an identical 'mother hubbard' experience. Thank you Logan.
Awesome. Glad I could help.
If this guide is primarily for new players, might be worth mentioning that carrying stolen goods isn't the only thing that will get you shot at. Getting scanned while carrying that forged security clearance will also get your ticket punched.
I always keep procrastinating Odyssey engineering. I think these videos might just be the little nudge I needed. o7, commander!
Very informative great S.O.P. principles too, you made it look easy. Best tutorial I have seen in a while thank you very much.
Thank you. It’s nice to be appreciated.
Nice to see there's another Arai's Mine type location around. 👍
The upgrades I use for stealth base raiding are:
- For weapons, a silenced sniper rifle and silenced plasma pistol (one-shot quiet kills at range).
- For the Maverick suit, quieter footsteps (not noticed so easily), larger backpack (carry more!), night vision (no flashlight to attract attention), and lower tool battery use (save that power!).
I went for the larger backpack first, then the silenced plasma pistol. Those are the best two upgrades you can get, after that, it doesn't matter much which you go for. The others are just nice to have enhancements.
It is good to have a known settlement where people can go to again. Since Arai's Mine and MMI have both been turned to non-anarchy settlements there have been quite a few people struggling with where to go to get their materials. You can go out and find these systems for yourself BUT not everyone has the time or knowledge to do that. At least now those people have somewhere to go.
Upgrades are a personal preference and I think everyone prefers different. For me the larger backpack wasn't worth it. Yes at first it would be helpful BUT by the time you get that upgrade, or shortly after, then you have an abundance of the common materials anyway so you no longer need to pick up as much. I find other upgrades more beneficial. The silenced weapons are always beneficial though and I agree that is pretty much an essential upgrade.
Good info, Thanks CMDR.
You're welcome. Glad it was useful.
The latest Logan Terrick video, awesome. Once you get into it the onfoot stuff is ok, shame about the grind, got most of the physical materials today but the data is a nightmare, think will have to do missions rewards just to get a bigger pouch. Maybe I’ll try this one after another go at Arai, thanks and may all their souls rest in Valhalla.
Thanks. Yeah, like a few things in ED the on foot stuff is repetitive, I enjoy it though.
I mean, it's flying around in a jetpack space suit in a sci-fi settlement on an alien planet with stunning scenery whilst sneaking up on people, taking them out and stealing all their valuables. What's not to love?! 😂
What data are you struggling with?
I had the same thought about a bigger backpack when I first started but I ended up not bothering. After a while you have so much of the common materials that you don't need to collect them and so you're only collecting the more rare ones and then the standard backpack is enough.
I can hear all of them raising their cups with Odin! 😉😁
So glad I found your channel!
Thank you! Good to know it's appreciated.
Hello From the 10th Legion!
Hello 10th Legion!
Haha, I just realised who the 10th Legion are. Good to have you here. I presume you are okay with us using your system to do this farming?
I know the Ti Wanjang Drug Empire is native to the system, so they will never be pushed out, and I can see you guys have been keeping them low in influence.
I would presume the murders at the new settlement will only help to keep the faction low for you and shouldn't interfere really with your BGS.
We're obviously hoping to keep the Ti Wanjang Drug Empire in control of Scholey Mineralogic Platform, hence I'm suggesting that CMDRs fight for them in any war that they get into, to ensure that they don't lose the settlement.
@@loganterrick You are correct that the mat farming and killing will have no effect on our BGS. I would also like to say that the 10th Legion has no interest in stopping this, I myself have been using Ti Wanjang Drug Empire's settlements to mat grind for over a year now so I wouldn't want to close this well either lol. Good farming everyone :)
@setesh1942 I figured as much. Thanks for letting us know. If there’s ever any problems let me know.
Went there, got much mats. It's very easy even for a newbie. Now closed again due to pirate attack.
Works great. cheers man!
For min-max, i tend to just hit up the cmd, habs and ext. I didn't find the other buildings to be worth it time wise.
Thanks.
I will be headed there ASAP!!!
You and me both! 😂
You sir!!! Excellent contents always. Thank you.
That seems the NPCs are stuck in this settlement, if comparing with Arai's Mine.
Thank you! It's good to know it's appreciated and that people are finding it useful.
Superb as ever Logan,
Just a quick one though; If you have "liberated" some goods from a base, relocate them to either your SRV or ship, having dropped your cloned id of course, would you still be identified as a thief by base staff?
Thank you. If you stashed the goods in an SRV or your ship and you dropped the cloned ID then no, the guards wouldn't ID you as a thief in that case.
The main buffet 😂 love it
Thanks!
8:07 Casually downloading Settlement defence plans...
Great video, thanks for all the information. I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer as I've only just started trying the on foot content. 1. If you're scanned before you have taken anything will you still be ok like in other settlements, and 2. If you only have taken data will a scan show that you have it and get you attacked?
Thanks again for all the effort that you've put into producing this guide.
Thanks and yes then no to your questions. That was easy. 😁
Thank you for a quick answer to my questions@@loganterrick
Thanks for the guide! Just landed at the settlement, but it is night and the window shutters are on... :)
Yes, it’s because the faction state has changed. It’ll change back again before long. Patience young padawan. 😉
Still a functional, anarchy location for material gathering.
As a returning player, thank you! I was wondering, is there a "tracker" or similar which settlements are currently "lootable"? Also, can you recommend any other settlement while this one is not available? Thanks!
Unfortunately there is no 'tracker' of which settlements are currently lootable. I don't have another settlement to recommend right now though I will be making another video showing how to find them yourself. 😉
Hi, great video! Will relogging reset the instance as well or do I have to move to a certain distance away from the settlement?
You just need to get into supercruise and leave right after that. Now just head back the settlement.
Re-logging does not reset the instance. It used to buy FDEV stopped it a while ago.
Thanks for this guide. Very useful, although what settlement would leave their Security room unmonitored? lol
So when you're in a restricted area, will only administration and security agro if they see you?
Also the fact that it's a quick orbit means you don't have to wait long if you prefer night or day.
Unless something has changed, getting caught in a restricted area by any NPC will result in aggro. Also, security clearance will not change this.
thanks for the tutorial, however when i arrived at the settlement the power was off everywhere so i had to put power regulators (also there were no people in the structure so cloning was impossible. great video tho !
Yeah, that happens. It will open up again once the BGS state changes.
Tried it out yesterday and it works great and is very easy to follow, especially for someone like me who is new the the on foot content of the game.
I noticed that there are data ports in the bars in some settlements with lots of people walking about inside the bar, can you download from these while being seen with out getting attacked, if not how do you get the data from these ports especially in locations where you can't kill anyone?
I'm finding your guides very useful, I've only just discovered your channel.
Thanks again for all your effort.
Thanks. If you are seen downloading then you will be attacked. If the settlement alarms are still on then they will go off and the whole settlement will be after you as well. You can download the data in those bars but you have to be extremely careful that nobody is looking in your diorection first.
Thank you for the information, I think I'll avoid them, especially with my skill level where it is at the moment.@@loganterrick
Hi there Logan, I found this video and the tutorial for EDOMH extremely helpful. I just have a question, how do you get the Data overlay for EDOMH? I am struggling to find the setting for it. Thanks again for the great content. 07 commander.
-Afik you have to run ED in windowed mode-
Edit: Windowed or Borderless -> go to Settings ->Augmented reality
The settings are correct for me, but the overlay does not work.
Is there an order for starting the software? ED first or EDOMH first?
And yes the Visual c++ stuff is installed
@@Blade111213 Its a win64 feature thats all i can say unfortunately.
For me it worked right out of the box.
Edit: what you start first should not matter, i usally do ED -> EDOMH
If I'm already running Grade 3 weapons, is there any reason not to just casually stroll around once the alarms and antipersonnel guns are offline? I'm pretty confident in being able to take out any guards that might come.
No reason whatsoever. If you can take them out then have at it!
It's cool to see the game at ultra graphics settings. Did you increase the gamma?
From the default, yes. It's way too dark for me by default. The game does look good in Ultra. Time to get that new PC mate. 😁
I put in quite a bit of effort to flip those settlements to anarchy back in 2022. Let's try not to trash it, everyone!
If you flipped that settlement to anarchy then thank you, it's much appreciated. I'm certainly going to do my best to make sure people know they need to protect the settlement from being turned again.
@@loganterrick I did some similar work in Timbalderis, near shinrarta. There's several large extraction settlements there, and the high traffic from being smack in the middle of the bubble should make it a lot harder for cmdr activity to push the anarchists up into a position where they could get into another war.
Another question. Did you by any chance see "Mining Analysis" data at this settlement? Also settlement is dead this week also :(
If you watch the video I list all the data materials that spawn at this settlement. The settlement will be offline sometimes, it can't be helped, it happens with every settlement.
Thanks for the guide, I've just gone here and the settlement is locked down and deserted. If this is due to the conflict zone on the planet how long is this likely to last for? And, if it's not due to the CZ is there something I'm doing wrong?
No, it's not due to the GCZ. It's to do with the state that the faction that owns the settlement is currently in. How long it will last depends on a few things, so it's not something you can easily say without looking into the specifics of each particular case but you are not doing anything wrong. It's just going to be a while before it comes back online.
@@loganterricki just visited. It is still in lock down :-(
It's no longer an Anarchy system. Currently, Empire in a state of boom.
i was farming this thing yesterday, logged out there, and now today its got a war going on :D
well, I fought for the Ti Wanjang "cartel" and won a CZ at least..... that was fun....
It never was an Anarchy system. It’s the settlement that is Anarchy and that’s what matters.
@@loganterrick Oh OK Thanks.
Great tutorial, although when I got there all the dataports and lockers were empty.
Did you re-log? If you re-log at the settlement then the data ports and lockers come back empty. You have to jump back into orbit and fly back down for them to come back.
@@loganterrick Thanks. Will give it a try in the morning. Uh it is the morning already! Better go to bed ☺
@2:20 - "I love the moon close by..."
That's no moon...
That's the planet.
'Scholey Mineralogic Platform' is on the planet's moon.
Just a heads up. There's currently a CZ there so it's unavailable for now
That will happen from time to time. Join in the GCZ and speed up the end of the conflict!
@@loganterrick I found a new one to do while that one is contested.
Nahua system
Nahua 4 D
Burn synthetics exchange
@@xSN1P3RxxD3V1Lx ❤ Cheers mate - going to check that out right away
Edit for those who want to try: Its quite a level up↗ a crapton of personell walking around plus a sentry skimmer
The easiest way to gte lvl 3 clearence is a window at the CMD you can stant on top and scan through a windown - a mission provider is standing near so you cant miss it.
You can take out 4 Workers inside the HAB - 2 are always there and 2 are coming there occasionally.
Thats where i gave up for today - good luck everyone
is there a limit to what you can loot? I see you leaving stuff behind.
The size of your backpack limits how much you can pick up but I often don’t collect everything because some things are just not that worthwhile collecting and sometimes I’m only after specific items.
Further to what Logan just said, you can also double the carrying capacity of your backpack by visiting the appropriate Odyssey Engineer and supplying them with the requisite materials.
(Also, you can dump what you collect into your ship's storage, then go back for more.)
Tried 5 times but entire settlement is totally empty everywhere. Tried in Solo, Open, Private... nothing 😕
That's because of the BGS state that the owning faction is currently in. When the state changes it'll be operational again.😉
@@loganterrick Yeeee! I’m always the same lucky guy 😅 ok come on, I’m waiting for next week then
Thanks for the guide 🙂
Yes can confirm this is now a conflict zone at tis time
Join in the conflict and fight for the settlement!
Went there today and all the lockers are completely empty - in private play....
Cant confirm, everythig stacked. It could be the case another member of your PG was there before you.
Try a different gamemode or try going into supercruise drop out of it and approach settlement again - this should reset it
@@billklatsch5058 - It's far more likely that the problem is/was that the faction was in a state of war at the time. That leads to empty abandoned settlements. It should change to a different state after the Thursday server tick.
This happens because of the BGS state that the faction who owns the settlement is in. When the BGS state changes it will go back to normal.
