It's interesting to note every UA-cam club-fitter/seller gets increased club speed/ball speed with the new stealth, but every UA-cam golfer/reviewer doesn't. Maybe it's psychological? Thanks for the video though. just seeing Thomas swing is worth the like!
I picked up about 6-7 mph ball speed with the Stealth. I swing fairly hard though so one big benefit to the Stealth is the fact they have really nice shafts standard at no up charge. For me the Mitsubishi Kai’li shaft really suits me. I haven’t hit the Rogue yet to see what I can do with it when properly fit. Im not x cited to find out.
I lost about 10 yards from my sim no increase of speed I went for sim 2 as slightly longer than sim but better dispersion our local golf centre hadn't sold one stealth driver in 2 weeks
I tried the stealth and stealth plus. I got faster club speed with the stealth plus and sim2 compared to my sim but the sim2 was just as fast as the stealth plus but had a higher smash factor and ballspeed than the stealth plus. Everyone produces slightly different results but for me the sim2 is still the best driver I’ve hit to date. Also for me the sim2 spins more than the sim more similar to the sim max but has more fade bias which is good because that keeps me at 1900-2100rom whereas the sim could drop to 1600rpm. My takeaway is the stealth can swing faster with great aerodynamics but it didn’t translate to ballspeed or distance. The stealth was the same distance as the sim but the sim2 has an extra gear. I want to see what the cobra ltdx ls will do.
When doing comparisons like this, it's normal for swing speed to go up as you loosen up so it only makes sense that the club you hit last has better numbers, barring any inconsistencies in the swing. TXG, fitter and reviewing channel, mentions the loosening up = more speed a few times in some of equipment reviews.
@@Nichorobo I would go a step farther and say to test the clubs over a 1 month period 4 different times as speed and delivery can change or at least until you can identify patterns or tendencies you produce. That's why I'm not a fan of club fittings where you go into a store and walk out with a new club 45minutes later and that one window is supposed to fit you for the next 1-2 years.
His swing speed went from 113 sim, 113.9 sim2, then 115 stealth. As you warm up you can swing harder. He can say whatever he wants but he’s definitely swinging faster with the stealth, hence the higher ball speed.
It doesn’t have to be visual the data says it’s so. Definitely got more loose as time went. There’s nothing in those numbers. If anything the sim is more efficient at a slower speed.
Guys I love the reviews, but it was noticeable that he was 'going after' the drives with the stealth plus way more than the SIM's, which can explain the extra SS and Ball speed
Exactly what i was going to post. It’s like a 1.5mph swingspeed increase on the stealth vs both the others which has nothing to do with the driver itself. Just him swinging harder. The comparison between the sim and sim 2 was as spot on as you can get, but to swing faster at the ball and say the stealth is outperforming the other two…nah. The swingspeed over the sim is nearly 2mph faster which is pretty substantial. The spin rates were nearly identical for all of them.
@@method341 I don’t think that’s fair. There have been plenty of reviews where Thomas and the 2nd swing crew find no difference. Radspeed vs king cobra sz. Many other examples. Sometimes they find a little bit. Sometimes they don’t. They also just showed a video where several clubs beat out the stealth plus. So on that day Taylormade didn’t pay enough to them to rig it?
I was very suspect of the Stealth hype before I got to swing it. I got my chance at a local club fitting day and I came away super impressed. I don’t know if it’s the shape of the clubhead, the weighting or the Mitsubishi Kai’li shaft I was fitted for with the Stealth… But I think Ian @TXG really summarized it best in his review when he said there is just something about the stealth that invites you to really go for it when you swing it. It’s hard to describe unless you have swing club

Okay, 2 mph difference between the Stealth and either of the Sims will add the ball speed difference. But is it worth the $200 - $250 price tag difference over the Sim which I still see brand new in some stores? No. I'll stay with my Sim Max.
2nd Swing to the Rescue . Sim2 wins . C'mon man , Just make swings. Everyone can see you swinging faster when you have the Stealth in hand. Leave the marketing out and let the Viewers decide . By the way Titleist has dominated on Tour so far this year. TSI3 without any carbon or fancy bells and Whistles . Just saying . Keep up the good work.
I’ve had all 3 of these drivers. The first 2 are better in my opinion. Playing the 5S Fujikura Ventus shaft in all, the stealth has cost me 50 yards. Had I not broken 2 Sim2’s I wouldn’t have the stealth as a warranty swap.
Interesting. I wonder the results if you had hit the drivers in reverse order. I've not seen any other tests with these results. The m5 has performed as good or better than the stealth for some swings when hit every other vs a set of balls with each.
I’ve seen a lot of tests get higher swing speed with the stealth plus. I wonder if it’s a little bit of a lighter head? Most of the other reviews are seeing a little more head speed, but ball speed has been hit or miss on surprising sim2 or peers. Could also be the head shape/aerodynamics. All are 460cc, but the stealth plus certainly looks more compact in footprint. I just tested one for the first time and didn’t hit enough to conclude on speed. I certainly did notice better spin consistency and forgiveness vs my SIM2.
@@mvansb23 yes ive seen the same - faster swing speeds with lower ball speeds on average. It is possible the stealth fits this guy better or inspires confidence. Most people here are unaware that the carbon face has 2 benefits. 1- they were unable to improve ball speed with titanium anymore. And 2 the carbon face is 26 grams lighter than the titanium face. I think TM is following Callaway’s pattern of offering moving weights in the driver head every other year. For example, this year’s Rogue ST line no longer has a movable weight track where Epic offered a head with that option last year.
Great review. 3mph ball spwed over Sim is incredible. SIM is longest driver I've ever played but looks like I might get about 4-5 yards more with the Stealth. Amazing where tech and the limits of COR has gotten us.

I tested both the Stealt and the Stealth Plus. The Stealt spun between 1400-1500 rpm. But the Stealt Plus spun between 2200-2500 rpm. Both was 9 deg heads and with the same Proforce V2 Yellow shaft. Anyone else that had that experience where the supposed higher spin head spinns less than the lower spin head? I ended up bying the Stealth Plus in 9 deg.
When your swinging the stealth plus 2mph faster than the sim… what else where you expecting with the farther distances?! At least make it a fair test!!

I call bs on the results if toy go back when the sim 2 come out he was carying over 300 with it then. Of course you swing almost 2 mph faster you gonna gain 5 yards carry lol
May be “surprising” to you “experts” but swinging the club 2mph faster will make it go further. Should honestly do it fair and not go after the higher price driver. Let me guess, next year the stealth 2 will be 2 mph faster than the stealth…

@@CSqrdX pros don't bag stealth to lose the middle and gain 2 or 3yds on a small percentage of shots, that's what you do and your friends do and TM makes billions bc of it.. Meanwhile the actual pro tour isn't adopting TM in record numbers that goes to another OEM. Thanks for the note to ask me do I know what I'm looking at though 😆
@@Somewheredownintexas You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Even the best drivers of the ball have a dispersion of around 65 yards at 300 yards carry - which just happens to be what most fairways measure between penalty hazards. Just take a look at most equipment free agents and see what driver they have in the bag. Probably 90% have a TM of some sort. This is my last reply and I won't engage you any further.
For what it’s worth - of the 22 “equipment free agents” in the Top 125 in the world, 19 are using a TaylorMade driver
Please compare to M1 2017 and the M2. Thanks
M2 is a beast. For him won’t be that big of a difference. For the average golfer the newer club will be more forgiving when you don’t hit center.
just dropped 550 on EPIC I'm good...
Just got me the sim 2 max 🙂
I would say the stealth is not better just a gimmick to buy new. Ive hit it and its 5td less than my. G410 lst. So kinda funny seeing this
I tested both the Stealt and the Stealth Plus.
And yes, in one freaking year this will be outdated! I hit my Sims 2 max as straight as a gig handle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep your carbon!
Buying a sim 2 at the end of the metal wood era must feel like buying the 2019 vette only to have the mid engine bad ass version out the next year
In my average golfer opinion, the stealth driver is not very appealing to the eye ! I was also watching a YT clip of a fella hitting one in a simulator & the carbon face flew off ! 😳 Apparently it’s the second one it’s happened to for him !
What happens when the covering over the face wears off? Better make sure you don’t hit range balls with a little sand on them.
I call bs on the results if toy go back when the sim 2 come out he was carying over 300 with it then.
Of course you swing almost 2 mph faster you gonna gain 5 yards carry lol
I've owned M1, M4, M6, SIM and SIM 2. The build quality seems to be getting worse every year. I wont be getting the Stealth...
May be “surprising” to you “experts” but swinging the club 2mph faster will make it go further. Should honestly do it fair and not go after the higher price driver. Let me guess, next year the stealth 2 will be 2 mph faster than the stealth…
Have bothe sim and stealth and one thing is for sure sim 2 is by far the better driver more forgiving and more distance its no brainer see it on the golf course difrent player all say the same so i know these guys get freebees form TM but these claims aren't true can see the stealth was swing the hardest
🤣 SIM & SIM2 are fairly SIMilar ! 🤣👍
Basically unless your driver is 20 years old, there’s no real reason to upgrade for the average golfer
I mean 290-300 is not a big difference when it comes to driver. I’ll spend 300$ on a sim vs double that for a stealth and maybe 10 yards. Not worth it
The more you are warmed up the better the later hits are. no wonder your progression followed that exactly here. Its a flaw every driver test i see on You tube.
Taylormade offers different face colors now.
That’s player.
Look at club speed this doctored
Sorry you should look at the video again
Your body language with stealth was like a long drive champion where as the other clubs was more like you are trying to hit fairway I don’t see the advantage.
Can you not read club speed data and see swing speed? Jesus, people like those in these comments pay for TM's silly marketing every year, so easily fooled.
This comparison is USELESS unless you struck all 3 drivers in similar locations on the face. Where was your strike locations?
Probably about the same since the smash factor was about the same.
I've sim 2 I hate sliding weight ,gets ypu in a bad habit
No gain. If you swing faster, the ball will go further.
Not worth spending that amount of $.
Great advertisment for TM
It kept looking uglier after the regular SIM..
BS. So basically if you swing harder and faster the ball goes further. Typical TM salesman.
Stealth sounds so crap
