I tried the stealth today and honestly, nothing special seems to hit the same as current and the rogue max was really noticeably better, I enjoyed it and will probably buy one
Had my first ever driver fitting this year and came away with a similar outcome .. The Rogue was way more consistent and gave me more confidence, the Stealth looked great but I was all over the place with it.
exactly the same with me. (12hc) I think if you are scratch then stealth works if you are double figures then I think you'll struggle with consistency with the Stealth
just got fitted today. hit the rogue the stealth ping g425 and the Rogue was easily the best fit for me. had no idea they were so expensive but first new club i have ever bought, replacing a Nike SUMO 2
my fitter didn't even get me to try the stealth it was between the G425 and Rogue, numbers showed I had more consistent and more normalised spin with the rogue so went with that instead and couldn't be happier
“The Stealth looked great but I was all over the place with it” pretty much sums up Taylormade drivers as a whole. They always look great but they don’t perform up to the price tag.
I've been a huge supporter of Callaway since 2016 GBB and haven't changed my mind since. Even though I've tried all the others (TaylorMade, Cobra, Ping, Srixon, Hogan....etc), I bought the Mavrick because of it's accuracy over the others, but the key to all of them is get the tour versions of whatever driver you like, because they are much lower spinning and have the most consistancy. You don't have to buy the brand new versions of any driver, just wait a year or two and get the previous versions for half the price. FYI - the shaft is a huge benefit, therefore get the shaft that best benefits your swing speeds.
I use a Rogue ST Max D and its so good. 12 degrees of loft gives the ball plenty of time to actually draw like its supposed to. I replaced my R1 with it and i have no regrets.
Comment length is everything.Personally don’t think length is the most important to the average golfer 10 yards doesn’t make much difference but a close dispersion pattern is what we want
I have a driver fitting coming up so will definitely check that out thanks. Hit a few today. Stealth not good for me because I cannot get over how inside the sweet spot looks to me. TMs look so odd to me while I’m standing over them for some reason.
“Steal Heads, that’s how old I am!” Made me lol 😂. I’ve still got my persimmon driver in the shed and have a round with it once every blue moon! Would love to see you play a round with persimmon woods!
Lol I thought it was quite obvious 😂. I got one, too. I’m a 23hcp and I went from 238yd avg to 274yd avg with accuracy. Now, I’m a 23 hcp so you know I hooked some but everything stayed in play.
I had a feeling that it was going to be the Triple Diamond as the 3rd driver, but I also felt it could've been the Cobra LTDX LS, but I use the Callaway Rogue ST Max LS and I love it so much. Yeah it doesn't go as far, but it keeps my spin down and goes extremely straight
Stealth plus added 4mph ball speed for me over my sim2... it looks great behind the ball and I love the feel of it. The Rogue looked closed at address for me great if you struggle with the ball leaking right but only good for hitting round corners for me. I suppose the forgiveness you need is different for different players, techniques and tendencies
I went for a club fitting today on drivers. They had me try the Rogue ST (Max, D and LS), Stealth, Cobra and G425. It was the first fitting I’ve ever been too and it was really interesting and helpful. I ended up with a Rogue ST Max and a 60g shaft. It was the best a driver has ever felt to hit. If it hadn’t been for your videos, then I wouldn’t have gone for a fitting, as I thought I’d have been wasting their time. Thank you, I can’t wait to hit it on the course
Cobra LTD X LS for me! I just got a new driver after not playing for a few years and the Cobra just edged out the Rogue ST LS Triple Diamond for me. My swing speed averages around 105-110mph, which is on the edge of stiff to extra-staff in shaft flex, but I eventually went for the Cobra LTD X LS with an Aldila Rogue Silver 110 M.S.I stiff shaft. My handicap range is 0-4 across previous seasons, but I am getting older, so gaining swing speed is getting harder! All these new drivers are so close to each other, a lot of time it's now coming down to feel and looks.
Good choice, I got mine in the bag on Feb 20th because of the reasons you just said, its a little more forgiving at the higher speeds and stays more true to path.
I just had a driver fitting 2 weeks ago and you are correct. The Ping G425 and Rogue ST Max are very forgiving. I hated the Stealth! But after fine tuning the 2 drivers, my numbers were about identical. I chose the Callaway after having a 5 shot comp. It was a little better after hitting 100 drives. Lol
I tried both, came home with the Rogue. really struggled to do anything with the Stealth. BTW steel head you are not old. I started with wooden heads and remember steel heads coming out.
i was fit into a stealth plus and to me it is really forgiving, getting fit was the difference, both super nice drivers, good luck this year in your quest.
I bought a Callaway Rogue Max and really tried to like it. The toe of the club looked too high, and I kept yanking it left. So I finally traded it for the Ping G425 Max. Very happy I did.
I put off buying for a month because I felt I was choosing the Stealth just because it was the "new big thing". So glad I did. Since then reports have begun to come out about the Stealth being inconsistent i.e. occasional "rouge" (pun intended!) strikes. I went back to my fitter last week and we ran through the best shaft combinations on the Stealth Plus and the Rogue LS Max. When we combined the data from the two fittings Rogue was a clear winner. His view is that the current Stealth will be upgraded relatively soon and he's advising clients who want to stick with Taylor Made to wait. Meanwhile my Rogue will arrive next week!!
I did a driver fitting just yesterday (June 13th, 2022) and also walked away with the Callaway Rogue. I was hoping to like the Stealth better as all my irons are Sim Max2 Taylors, but, Callaway was just much more forgiving and consistent giving me much more confidence.
I tried the Stealth didn't like it more than my Sim max 2. I thought it was ok. But the Rogue driver was way better than the Stealth If I was to buy a driver this year the Rogue would be it.
Brilliant video review, I am seriously considering swapping out my G425 max for the max triple diamond LS, just bought the rogue st pro irons - 4 to pw keep em coming pete !!
Because of this i tried both, i did not like the feel of the stealth at all (and i was going to buy it without even hitting it lol). I never liked Callaway, for no reason at all, but the feel of the Rogue was freaking amazing. i was shocked. Thanks for the recommendation. Ill be getting fit for the rogue soon :). Great video man.
Yeah Cobra drivers just swing different these days. F9 was my favorite of a few generations ago and the new Cobra was just as good. I’m still not sold on a lot of their stuff but they are the best company making drivers right now IMO.
Peter, Good luck with your workout (latest video) I know you will improve! So I just put a triple diamond in my bag. I'm nervous. I'm 58 years old with 110 club head speed. But it seriously tested the best in my fitting. It is a serious monster when you hit it square.
Good choice Pete. I've hurt my back so had to delay my custom fit session planned for Sunday so the agonising wait to see which 2022 Driver is going in my bag continues.
I had my first ever fitting and the Rogue was a clear winner. Just a pity that they say Callaway are saying they’ll deliver mid-April …. 5 weeks after I ordered it ☹️
I just bought the Callaway Rogue ST Max D, my 1st driver purchase in probably close to 18 years. My ball flight with a driver is a high slice. But within 5 shots, I'm hitting a draw or more towards the centre or left of centre. Damn! Technology at work lol
Man I have always dreamed of hitting a ball that far with that consistency. Alas I'm a high handicapper that won't see that. Would be happy to get a G425 but will stick with my M-1. Nice stuff Pete. Thanks
Pete! Welcome to "Callaway rouge ST LS Triple diamond" family. lol. Callaway has to work on naming but from my testing very similar results. At the end of the day, for me, the Triple diamond is a fairway finder and I gave up 4 yard vs the stealth which at times its all over the place.
I have an appt setup Sunday for a driver fitting, I can’t wait I’ll be going with the callaway or the cobra. Can’t wait to retire my 21 year old callaway hawk eye.
I had a driver fitting for the first time and I was very surprised to be walking away with the Cobra LTDX LS model. As someone who's watched a lot of reviews on all these drivers and a 15 handicapper, I was convinced I would struggle with the Cobra LS model. After trying it though, It just blew the others away in terms of distance, dispersion and consistency. I urge everyone to get fitted because you'd be surprised as to what works for you.
Great Video as always. Was not expecting that, but come to think of it, makes complete sense. While your pals are teetering in the rough, you are sat 300yds up in the fairway (subject to your swing on the day of course).
I've had a full bag of Callaway products for the past 15 years, ( except for my putter which I changed to a Scotty this year), and while I know I'm not consistent enough to play the triple diamond head regularly, I have to admit it is one sexy piece of gear.
I just got fiitted into a Rogue Triple Diamond Head with a Diamana shaft. I was surprised that the triple diamond was still pretty forgiving and I liked the shape better than the Max version. I can't wait to get it on the course. Love the videos. Keep them coming.
I'm super excited about this choice, mainly because despite the low key launch all the reviews of it have been really positive. Suggesting that despite the marketing the Rogue is the better driver. I think the "Lighter" carbon face is actually affecting its forgiveness.
The launch was low key? Reviews were positive so it means it's better? I know Callaway didn't go full scale in your face like TM but they have been everywhere too, spending a lot on this Rogue launch. I'll be honest, it isn't any better than any of their last 4-5 drivers now imo. They have all been very, very, very similar.
It’s funny how so many have said the triple diamond driver is made for only a very small percentage of golfers. Perhaps it is, but I still plan to try it when comparing drivers in my fitting. Who knows, I may find my M2 is still the best for me.
Oh no, I just picked up a Stealth Plus this week! Should I return it and get the Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS to help keep you influencer score high Pete?
I tried the callaway, cobra and the tm. The cobra was no difference really The stealth felt bad and sounded bad. Loved the feel and sound of the callaway but the difference between the old rogue that I am using and the new rogue was so small there is no reason to buy a new one
Forget the reviews.. what I do like is the close up of your swing. Just how things should work. And even I the worse golfer in the history of the game can improve by trying to match those movements.
I thought the mystery driver might have been Parker from Thunderbirds but alas no. Good vlog Peter with the Stealth beating the MAX LS as I expected. Hope to see you tee up at The Open in St Andrews with the Triple Diamond whatsitsname. Cheers
I’m surprised you didn’t give the cobra a go… I found the TD over time launches really low on miss hits but stealth plus and LTDX LS were better for me I still think the Max LS will end up in your bag regardless
I'm glad you went with the triple diamond. In my testing the triple diamond smoked every build of the stealth plus I could make. However, the Cobra LTDx smoked every other driver I've tested this year. I matched my best ball speed from my F9 with the LTDx, a number I haven't gotten close with any other driver. 179 ball speed is the fastest I've recorded on trackman, the fastest I got stealth plus was 172, triple diamond I got to 176, and the LTDx I got to match the 179. Have not tested the LTDx LS yet though.. Could it finally replace my F9?
@@peterflannigan4055 my play speed is about a 117 clubhead speed with about a 172 ball speed with my cobra F9, if I step on it, I can get club head up to 122, and at that speed is where I achieved those ball speed numbers.
I literally tried the triple diamond earlier today, set to 9 degree for me and I stuck my current X-stiff shaft in. Good god it feels amazing. One thing I was amazed at, I currently have the B21 (set to fade bias) and tried the same with the triple diamond. I could physically see the new one going a good 10 yards further down the range. So I'm really tempted by it
Great stuff Pete no surprise you went with the Callaway. I went for a fitting and tested the Stealth, Callaway, Cobra and Ping. I went in thinking I would walk away after ordering a Stealth but for me the Cobra LTX performed the best. The Stealth did not impress me, I was so surprised.
It's ultimately going to be different for everyone depending on your delivery patterns on what driver fits best..... I tried them all this year, cobra ltd x, rogue St max ( found this very heavy in the head), stealth and stealth plus. My SS is 95-98mph and I tend to deliver high on dynamic loft so forward weighted drivers keep that down and work better for me.... They all sound and look great and there was hardly any difference until I got to the stealth plus as this was signicantly longer then the others across all shots. Never liked the sound/feel of recent taylormade drivers until this which is so much improved. Brilliant driver all round and I found it forgiving too, the negative it looks a little plasticy to my eye but on performance and feel/sound it went straight into my bag..... Best sounding driver is still the Tsi3 which also packs a serious punch
All the new brand models have 3 things in common. The Carbon, ridgeback, and the weights. Which is why I got the Tour Edge Exotics c722 with the same technology for the fraction of the price
I see your using the sugar ball, I really like that ball been using it for a few years now and really like the feel probably won't be switching back to proV anytime soon
Congrats! The Triple Diamond has been my favorite this year (with the Cobra LTDx LS). Just for fun, this is Jon Rahm's specs for this driver: Callaway Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS (10.5 degrees @11.2) (10GF, 4GB) Shaft: Aldila Tour Green 75 TX (45.25 inches, tipped 1 inch, D4)
@@Brentqvaleenjoyer He has always played a higher loft (at least 10.5) I think because of his bowed wrist. Also, his GF is pretty high. Seems to be working well for him. I saw an interview with Johnny Wunder from Callaway and after setup they asked Rahm to hit the driver for consistency over 15 shots and he was less than 100rpm in spin spread, and 1mph. Talk about consistency!
After extensive hitting with both the Stealth & Rpgue… I bought that Rogue… and I MFKN LOVE IT. I haven’t hit a driver so good & consistent since my Callaway Big Bertha Diablo, which Imuswd to absolutely crush TF out of. And I have every reason to like the Stealth, considering the fact that my grandfather was best friends with TMs founder’s dad (he was the CC pro at my grandfathers CC) & he funded the making of the first metal wood. But, nope. I can’t dog on the carbon. I don’t think it’s “there” yet, unless one is a pro or plays at the level/consistency of a pro.
Love the video again Peter really help full form top to bottom I live north east of England (Middlesbrough) do you know where’s best to get fitted up here for clubs thanks
I never got along with the Sim2, It just didn't feel right, it was either a high right floater or a low pull. I was just fitted for the Rouge LS 10.5 with the Stock Tensei white 65 shaft. Much better dispersion, launch, spin, and carry
I got fit for a new driver a few months ago and though the max LS was a strong contender the stealth+ gave me better numbers. Either way both are very good and taylormade and Callaway are going to have a really good year.
After years with TM, last June (2022 - before the Paradym came around) I traded in a bunch of clubs for a Callaway Rouge ST + $150 of my dollars. (I needed it like another hole in my head - or anywhere else). When I changed shafts I ended up with a piece of metal inside the head. (Lonnnng story. Totally My fault.) The only thing that did, however, was provide a slight rattle when I swung the thing. I couldn't figure out if there was any way to get it out, so I called Callaway. "Nope," the rep said, "it's in there forever." "OK" said I, "I'll live with the rattle." Then an amazing thing happened. The rep, with NO whining from me, said (and this is almost EXACTLY what he said), "Well I wouldn't want that rattle. We'll send you another one." YEP, they sent me a new $549 driver - as soon as I returned the "old" one (at THEIR expense). So from now on, I'm buying Callaway clubs. I have never had such great Customer Service, PERIOD.
Did I see a Sugar golf ball in this video, Pete?! What do you think of the ball? Really, really curious! I've heard a lot of good things about it, but some people say it spins a bit too much with longer clubs and kills distance?! Have you done much testing with it? Great video as always! By the way, I'm very curious to see if the carbon fiber face of the Stealth holds up in the rest of time! Titanium surely has more strength and longevity?
Guess you should compare the Rogue to your last driver the sim 2 , your video on the sim 2 at the time was way longer then both of these drivers your testing out here . Maybe do a multi year driver test to see how they all compare again ? IMO
I tried the stealth today and honestly, nothing special seems to hit the same as current and the rogue max was really noticeably better, I enjoyed it and will probably buy one
Yay, Callaway! I was assuming you'd go with the Stealth. Ever since the jailbreak tech was introduced, I just love Callaway drivers ❤

Just added the 💎💎💎LS too. Great choice. Nothing short of exquisite.
My new Rogue Max D has out-performed my SIM II Max, it has been quite remarkable. I have now gone all Callaway from TM am very happy with the results.
Great choice! Hype isn't always a good thing as a lot of other players are finding out. Good luck on your tourney.
i was fit into a stealth plus and to me it is really forgiving, getting fit was the difference, both super nice drivers, good luck this year in your quest.

Great video ! I'm definitely trying the callaways in my spring fitting!
ive been excited for this since Pete said it was coming Thursday!
Man I have always dreamed of hitting a ball that far with that consistency. Alas I'm a high handicapper that won't see that. Would be happy to get a G425 but will stick with my M-1. Nice stuff Pete. Thanks

Wow. Can't believe your moving off TaylorMade. I play the 💎💎💎 also. Testing the Cobra now. Both amazing 🔥
I have an appt setup Sunday for a driver fitting, I can’t wait I’ll be going with the callaway or the cobra. Can’t wait to retire my 21 year old callaway hawk eye.
Go with Matt Fryer's Cleveland Launcher XL. Also get rid of that rubber tee you're losing distance / ball speed.

100% agree with the "different drivers require different specs" ... head weights, loft measurements, etc could all be different.
I tried the callaway, cobra and the tm.
The cobra was no difference really
The stealth felt bad and sounded bad.
Loved the feel and sound of the callaway but the difference between the old rogue that I am using and the new rogue was so small there is no reason to buy a new one
Excited about the triple. The double black diamond a while back was hot

SPOILER ALERT!!!
Me too. Almost left my stealth on the course. Love my ltdx ls
That's tour pro ball speeds. Theres a stealth video where Rory powers a 186mph but all the other Taylor made guys are only in the high 170s
@@peterflannigan4055 my play speed is about a 117 clubhead speed with about a 172 ball speed with my cobra F9, if I step on it, I can get club head up to 122, and at that speed is where I achieved those ball speed numbers.
The scary thing about my tests of the LTDX was that I could barely swing it one day and was still 175 average it’s just SO forgiving
Nice review Peter. Thank you.
love this series, great insight
Wow a decision, well done!
So I'm really tempted by it
B21 is a great driver
FINALLYYYYYYY!! My alarm reminded me 😂 Jesus you’re CREAMING it Pete… over 300 AVERAGE carry…
Refreshing to see someone go with the driver they hit the best unlike certain other you tubers that went with the flashy marketing
All the new brand models have 3 things in common. The Carbon, ridgeback, and the weights. Which is why I got the Tour Edge Exotics c722 with the same technology for the fraction of the price
As inconsequential as it really is, I love when the clubs you pick are the clubs in my bag. I am using the same driver! Good choice!
Cobra last 2 have out beaten the 2 and ping as well. The RAD was when I finally switched over from TaylorMade
I see your using the sugar ball, I really like that ball been using it for a few years now and really like the feel probably won't be switching back to proV anytime soon
Just bought the Rogue Max to replace my old Ping G. The Rogue is unreal!!
I just made exactly the same switch and feel the same about the Rouge!!
Im curious, what adjustments do you do with the head to get the swing weight right with that monster heavy grip?
They actually aren’t heavy
Loved the video Pete!
Surprised by the result! Thought you’d go stealth all day long! Interested to see how the diamond goes on course!
Congrats! The Triple Diamond has been my favorite this year (with the Cobra LTDx LS). Just for fun, this is Jon Rahm's specs for this driver: Callaway Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS (10.5 degrees @11.2) (10GF, 4GB)
Shaft: Aldila Tour Green 75 TX (45.25 inches, tipped 1 inch, D4)
11.2 seems ridiculously high for a guy as fast as him
False. Depends on launch conditions.
When should i consider using x stiff, i currently use stiff and swing at 106mph driver speed
The Rogue St and cobra are by far the best of this year I think. Hit them all in the shop and they're so good
Tried the stealth to see what it was like, just didn't like the feel, went for the rogue at max, just love it,about 30yards longer with it
Wow another drop off from the Stealth! I’m shocked but admire your honest take while probably struggling with a little bias in favor of TM
Great video Pete. Why no LTDx ?
WOW the Great Mr. Finch is going away from Taylormade this season. Great choice and the Triple Diamond looks brilliant all murdered out.
Interesting - using the Sugar golf ball. I didn't like them because they wore easily.
Another great Tom hardy golf review
Congrats good choice Pete
Niiicee!!! Will be playing the same driver this season 👍🏻💪🏻
Pete, What would you recommend for an average mid handicap player? I suspect the clubs you teste here are better for better players?? 🤔
Another driver comparison video. Just what we need.
You are welcome
@@peterfinchgolf sorry dude. I know the driver vids get decent views and that goes to supporting the channel but a bit tired of stealth Vs rogue.
I’ve got the Stealth Plus with the Hulk shaft. It’s probably the best head/shaft combo I’ve ever used. Extremely stable, forgiving and long.
That’s a class combo to be fair 😍
Anyone wanna bet on the over/under of when he switches to the stealth? I’ll set it at 3.5 weeks
Great videos!
How long is your driver shaft?
What club speed do you have on course?
Guess you should compare the Rogue to your last driver the sim 2 , your video on the sim 2 at the time was way longer then both of these drivers your testing out here . Maybe do a multi year driver test to see how they all compare again ? IMO
WOW! That was a twist!
Hey Pete, love the content. BTW what color are the diamonds on the bottom of that driver? Hint: it's not for skiing.
