Clear and easy guide to follow. Just want to mention that the knot used to tie braid to mono is the double uni knot. It's the best knot I've ever used for tying two lines together. I love the ending of your vid as well. Positive message and very true. Gotta find the joys in life.
You mentioned letting out 60 feet of line and trolling at 1.8mph your lure should be at 15 feet. I realize it depends a little bit on the size of your lure and line type/weight but what I'd like to ask is if you know of a table that shows the relation between the amount of line out and speed of boat to how deep the lure should be. I've been looking all over and haven't been able to find anything like that. I'd appreciate any suggestions where I can find the info I'm looking for. Thanks.
As bad as it sounds I just realized last week line counters needed to be full for accuracy. Last time I spooled mine I tied on the mono set zero and went till it said 500 feet knowing it was enough for my purpose. I just tested mine with 100 foot mark in my yard. Zero’d the counter and took line to 100 feet… counter read 172 😮
i have 12 rods with spinning reels and just one for trolling. it is a LEW'S carbonfire speed stick (very lightweight) 7' 2" medium/heavy, fast action with a PENN WARFARE 30LWLCLH (level wind, line count, left hand) with 50lb braid (4 strand). for bigger fish i use my PENN PURSUIT4 combo 10' heavy, fast action with PENN PURSUIT4 8000reel with 80lb braid (4 strand).

Precision trolling book. Some lures have depth chart on the package. Otherwise it's experimentation.

interesting. Thanks for watching
Would be great if we could see what you are doing.
When I spool on line, I use a pencil , placed vertically in my vise, making sure the line label is face up.
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching
If you are going to troll with braid, you better have a mighty soft rod.
I have had good luck with it.
I was wondering when the drag is pulled out does it make a clicking sound or is it silent?
Depends on if the clicker is turned on or not.

Why didn't you use your line counter to see how much mono you put on?
