In the heat too, and while living in the boat you're working on, with such limited access to tools and materials. Herculean. Inspiring. Appreciated.
Hi Huub, get yourself a small compressor so that you can blow out all the dust in the area’s of repair plus keep blowing out your tools since the fibre glass dust is super abrasive to you electric motors, I speak out of experience, I am a old boat builder from way back having done my apprenticeship and time in Dutch shipyard, take care. Hey just sayin' that blueish green under coat looks like international gel shield, and a good solid coating, that stuff is really expensive and seals the hull against osmosis. Maybe don't get rid of it all!

Got some serious structural damage there, take your time isolating the damage and rebuild for strength not looks. In your place I would do all structural repairs there and move the boat to where materials are 10X cheaper for all the finishing touches! In other words, get it floating and get it gone!
I wouldn’t sail on that boat for all the money in the world. That boat was seriously damaged and it never was professionally surveyed. The guy is just going happy go lucky !
@@Mark-abc This guy is totally capable of fixing this boat, he has had to live with the consequences of his actions on the water for a while and I would trust him more than a surveyor with little or no invested interest in this project.
@@ericdelevinquiere9902 Anyone can fix superficial , cosmetic damage. But how about structural damages that can’t be seen from outside? That boat took a big hit from that container that was thrown on top of it by the hurricane so it’s very likely that there is damage to the structure . Now I can understand your vetted interest in those videos but you have to act responsibly and think about the safety of anyone that’s gone be sailing on that boat .

What actually needs to be done? It seems like a part of the keel is indented? How do you plan to make the keels equally deep again? Just cutting out the indented part will not make the keel konger again..?
Nice work Huub. I recommend you give your eyes a good freshwater flush at the end of each day as those fine particles accumulate. I'm sure you will Dani's absence a difficult adjustment but completing her studies is important to both of you. Will she be away long?

Having stripped many a boat down to the bare hull I laughed at your jury rigged headrest from a crate - as uncomfortable as that is it is still better than none at all . Only those that have been there will understand .

I would flip this cat for cash and continue sailing on Limonada, then find the next hurricane damaged boat and flip again & again 😊 till you've saved enough to make some investments that can offer you good returns for your old age.... ❤
You need to open up the keel area outside & inside before a professional surveyor will be able to generate a proper report! I would suggest that doing the minimum to get her seaworthy & moving to Puerto Rico or Florida where you can get materials far cheaper and easier to do the proper repairs.

I was wondering if you really know how to fix the keel . I think you might want to get someone to come and advise and do an in depth epsoide on all the areas that need fixing . All i know is where the blue tape is and some short clips of that damage . I cant take anymore sanding videos please get some other repair videos together . You channel is intresting and i did like all the waterfall and beaches . It seemed strange the way you only showed the cip of the airport and said you dropped her off . Viewers like me like details and its seemed clunky to watch . Im not hating on you or your channel but i think if you want to grow the all aspects of your jorney and story shoukd be told i mean not every heres what i ate today and then sanding video. Explore around like a reporter more you did in one video but you need to paint a bigger picture . All of what i said is not meant be mean you can tell me to F off and thats fine , just sharing my thoughs about a good chsnnel .
