Starmer is a human rights lawyer. He has just appointed the new UK attorney general, who is also a human rights lawyer. Guess where their focus is going to be? Does anyone seriously think that they will be making any serious efforts to reduce illegal immigrants? Is the bread and butter of human rights lawyers coming from reducing illegal immigrants, or increasing that client base?
I get annoyed when people say we need immigrants for the health service, won’t these immigrant workers and their families be a drain on the healthcare system too?
We have an aging population. We used to have four workers for every retiree. In a few years it will be down to two workers.

I live in a country where many people have difficult lives financially but still make it work having large families. However, back home in Britain loads of women in their late 30s and 40s desperately want children but won't have any, or 1 if they're lucky, because they were boss babes in their 20s.

But my question was whether Western families are having fewer children more due to women's attitudes changing towards family more than financial difficulties. I'm an Englishman but I live in Somalia, and loads of families have 5,6,7 kids here. They're often not rich and kids might share a bedroom or wear second hand clothes. But they make it work. But back home in Britain, it seems like many women would just rather work full time and men don't want or need to settle down.

Very easy solution. Leave the ECHR on the Monday, then on the Tuesday confirm to all countries that every part of the ECHR will be upheld by Britain except the article restricting us to immediately return all immigrants to where they have come from. Secondly, the criteria required for immigrants applying for British citizenship needs to be tightened up dramatically. Only 26% of immigrants applying for citizenship in France are accepted, in the UK it almost 90% !! No wonder immigrants want to apply in the UK.
