Let’s be honest. Foggy made WSBK in the 90s... his fiery temperament - great, fast riding & competing with some other REALLY GOOD riders produced some amazing battles and rivalries.
Legend ! they don't make um like Carl anymore , greatest era of super bikes never be the same , slight, Corser, Kozinscky, Edwards , Mckenzie ,Haga , many more all great riders , thanks for the best days ever !
Except Rea has won 6 on the bounce. In my mind Hislop was a better rider, but his temperament and attitude meant he didn't get the breaks that CF got, always a bit of luck involved. I watched the 92 senior TT from Rhencullen, what a race.
A bit outspoken, but he brought WSBK to the fans, now the sport is distant and not so friendly and the riders ride-round empty stadiums. Carl could also ride a 2 stroke, which he proved in the 500 class wild card rides he had. A real shame that he didn't move to 500's because I believe he could've got another championship.
Saw him wining TT F1 at Vila Real in 1990, beating the Norton's, the Suzuki's and Joey. Foggy is champion made = talent + racing spirit + balls of steel.
love the interview of foggy on about passing James Whitam in the TT "looked over and saw I was racing a guy with one big eye" epic nearly fell off the chair laughing.
Barry Sheene = King of Kings on a bike - all you commenting on Carl prob. grew up watching yes he very very good but Barry R.I.P. had it all. Go watch the great videos of Barry Sheene great character "True Champion" very gifted like Ayrton Senna RIP.
I was slightly dissapointed when I met him.......... but Boy oh Boy could he ride a Motorbike !.........WSB back then gave us some of the greatest racing ever.
Foggy was missed in WSBK. I loved his rivalry with Slight and Russell. However.........Johnny Rea has definitively established himself as the WSBK GOAT. And a nice bloke aswell. 👍
I literally bumped into foggy at nec birmingham back in the day, mate said you just bumped into foggy, i hadn't notice, looked back and he was glaring at me as only he can.
bayliss, hodgeson, toseland and now crutchlow, thats not counting scott reading and bradley smith, also jhonny rea and all of the other amazing british riders.
I became a huge WSBK fan during the Foggy, Kosinskie, Edwards years... Foggy was the biggest asshole ever..... HAHA His determination to win no matter what is why he is the legend. I see how it takes that type of mentality for some guys.
My name is Sam Oates bideford and demi the dog and the hog and sue rip mr hog were still loving you even though you ate in heaven my pal god will keep him safe till ur reunited with gods angel sue your wife amen and amen from Sam Oates bideford and demi the dog
Man had King Kong balls. One thing I always wondered how the UK Always had world champions in individual sports And but rarely in team sports. For example. Carl fogerty Lewis Hamilton Lennox Lewis Andy Murray Colin macray And countless Others in almost every sport there is. Almost like my country full of great parts that can never add up the sums to work as unit. It is a wonder indeed. Maybe a good spanking is in order. For them to realise the Wins are great individually but when you can do it at will as team The stories taste much better later on beacuse Other ppl who not only know the highs you on about but they can feel it cuz they was there A perfectly engineered highly efficient winning machine is the stuff of dreams. Maybe it is time to learn German Wouldn't be that much of stretch.
Clearly a top guy BUT, in his autobiography he claims he was the second best British rider of all time after Hailwood. Rather a silly thing to say. Foggy never won a World GP road race championship. How could he be so sure he would have beaten the likes of Woods, Graham, Duke, Surtees and Sheene in the day on the machinery available at the time? I can only guess his 'ghost writer' goaded him into saying that to make the book more controversial.
Yeah but that is foggy all over. I remember him saying put me in a Ferrari F1 car and I'll beat Schumacher easy. As Barry Sheene once said about Foggy "he should be a great rider as he's well balanced because he has a chip on each shoulder " lol.
Legend LOL a second tear rider??? couldn't handle the GPs. Great WSB rider but Legend is reserved for real top tear riders like KR, EL,RM, BS, KS, Rossi. Yea I know this is oldbut .LOL
THIS IS THE BOTTOM LINE. HE MADE NO IMPACT AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF MOTORCYCLE ROADRACING AT THAT TIME,WHICH WAS 500cc GRAND PRIX. AND THE GUYS HE HAD BATTLES WITH AND OFTEN BEAT HIM IN WSK,ALSO MADE LITTLE IMPACT IN 500cc GRAND PRIX.SO YOU SILLY POMMIES ARE MAKING A "LEGEND" OF SOMEONE WHO WON A FEW CHAMPIONSHIPS A RUNG OR TWO DOWN THE LADDER. THOSE U.S. AND AUSTRALIAN RIDERS WERE DEMI-GODS IN THE GOLDEN ERA OF 500's.THEY ARE THE TRUE LEGENDS.
No one REALLY gives a fuck about the T.T. It's not even racing. It's a time trial surpressed with survival instincts. It proves nothing, except to say I have more courage than you. Pointless.
jimmy mushman Why are you shouting. If you need to shout then your argument is weak. Go and improve your argument and come back when you have something interesting to say and say it. Who knows, maybe someone will listen.
He made several starts in Moto GP, filling in for Pierfrancesco Chili on an ROC bike for a while in 1990, with a best finish of sixth at the Swedish Grand Prix. He also contested the 500cc British Grand Prix several times. In 1992 he ran sixth before crashing on oil. In 1993 he qualified on the second row, and ran second early on after Alex Barros, Mick Doohan and Kevin Schwantz crashed on the first lap. He was set for third when he ran out of fuel, coasting over the line in fourth behind three Yamahas. He was entered again in 1994, but withdrew pre-race - citing a hand injury but later admitting that he felt the ride was uncompetitive.
Let’s be honest. Foggy made WSBK in the 90s... his fiery temperament - great, fast riding & competing with some other REALLY GOOD riders produced some amazing battles and rivalries.
Those days was the best of all time by a mile hard riders racing with there hearts and not worry about the money just the love of it. 👍
Legend ! they don't make um like Carl anymore , greatest era of super bikes never be the same , slight, Corser, Kozinscky, Edwards , Mckenzie ,Haga , many more all great riders , thanks for the best days ever !
I'd have to say Carl is the greatest Superbike racer who ever lived. Greeting from the U.S. :D
Wrong, Mr Daytona Scott Russell
Except Rea has won 6 on the bounce. In my mind Hislop was a better rider, but his temperament and attitude meant he didn't get the breaks that CF got, always a bit of luck involved. I watched the 92 senior TT from Rhencullen, what a race.
I miss watching foggy
We havent really had anyone to replace him since
A true racing legend watch all his races and watched him live in South Africa a brilliant rider. WSBK not the same any more
One of Britain's underrated sportsman.
Character, hard man,top driver, respect, take a look at the eyes, they tell the hole story 👍🏾
The most spectacular race ever was the John Konsisky vs Foggy... incredible racing by both riders. I'll never forget that race.
Every time I see Fogarty I think of Scott Russell.
I remember watching foggy as a kid.... What a legend....
all because of this man. the love of motorcycles and the famous wsbk then and the future. Although a bit scrawny now. Thanks for his dedication
This guy is was one of the best of all time!! he also rode the IOM like a stud!!
Saw him wining TT F1 at Vila Real in 1990, beating the Norton's, the Suzuki's and Joey.
Foggy is champion made = talent + racing spirit + balls of steel.
i loved watching foggy on sky with keith and jules commentating.
Racing has never been the same ! What a rider.
Growing up me and my dad idolised Foggy like a God!!! No racer today can compare to Carl..... One of the best ever!
Barry sheene was the best ever
Joey Dunlop.. Stan woods (joint first)..no contest..
love the interview of foggy on about passing James Whitam in the TT "looked over and saw I was racing a guy with one big eye" epic nearly fell off the chair laughing.
Mitico Carl...... tu si che sei un grande...
Barry Sheene = King of Kings on a bike - all you commenting on Carl prob. grew up watching yes he very very good but Barry R.I.P. had it all. Go watch the great videos of Barry Sheene great character "True Champion" very gifted like Ayrton Senna RIP.
Hail to the King!!!
Assen in the mid 90's was epic brilliant weekends with some awesome racing so many Brits
I was slightly dissapointed when I met him..........
but Boy oh Boy could he ride a Motorbike !.........WSB back then gave us some of the greatest racing ever.
Why dissapointed? no time for you!!
Ducati 916 = best looking bike ever
PapaWheelie Agree, I owned a 1994 916 Strada...best bike I ever owned. But my dream bike really is still the 888 SP5
Yes sir I agree I own the 996 myself
Not now. Ducati V4R looks better
Foggy you remain the best.
Class.
Arguably, without Carl, Ducati would be nowhere. He was the first one who dominated on the 916 and its variants.
Russell vs Fogarty was all that mattered!
Foggy was missed in WSBK.
I loved his rivalry with Slight and Russell.
However.........Johnny Rea has definitively established himself as the WSBK GOAT.
And a nice bloke aswell. 👍
and how fitting that a hungry for blood sentry dog is foaming in the background ! Each bark reminds me of a Ducati pulling rev's .
Syco! It's all in the eyes!
Good call! I thought the same years ago. Had to be to ride like that.
I literally bumped into foggy at nec birmingham back in the day, mate said you just bumped into foggy, i hadn't notice, looked back and he was glaring at me as only he can.
Simply the King
Thanks for that post
Strange thing is the bikes looked better then than they do today
Legend - Superbike Golden years.. Today is poor in comparison.
Old times were great...where no one have fear...they just make their bike ready and race...love the pre war era of motorcycles ❤️
Fogarty was a great racer ..just ask him...he did have talent
Grande King Carl!!!!
De los mejores gracias foggy
Good to hear Carl Fogarty. Outstanding gutsy riding and sorely missed on the circuit.
Terrible irritating background music; Totally unnecessary.
Yes and too bad about the mutts barking too
I still have my first helmet, a Shark, Foggy replica ^^
legend
he could only ride a Ducati unlike most bike heroes 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Man of men
The King...
I watched Eddie Lawson throw his helmet to the crowd at Laguna, but there is more to that story…
a real gentleman! especially with chili, assen race 2
Why the dreadful music?
I like foggy too
Foggy ! The Assen Assassin !!!
I WAS THERE
i would love to see some video footage of him racing at aberdare park,
That v twin
He should have raced a inline to show true talent
That was a good bio on him.
bayliss, hodgeson, toseland and now crutchlow, thats not counting scott reading and bradley smith, also jhonny rea and all of the other amazing british riders.
Joey Dunlop & Mike 'the bike' Hailwood deserve a mention too......WSB not the same without KING CARL
Foggy and the 916 are legends. End of. Sheene was a dick because of his attitude to the greatest motorsport event in history, the TT.
Lol who else was watching A History of Violence clips and ended up here??
I became a huge WSBK fan during the Foggy, Kosinskie, Edwards years...
Foggy was the biggest asshole ever..... HAHA
His determination to win no matter what is why he is the legend. I see how it takes that type of mentality for some guys.
I cooked his food yesterday, came in to my maccys
No mention of Slick fuckin Bass.....lol
Great interview , but that fuckin dog in the background was a pain in the arse
prefered Whitam
I wish he was a bit nicer. Jamie Vardys cousin he must be.
Fly my ass
and now ducati can`t win a fart there going to start cheating now
Whatis Carl Fogerty doing now?
My name is Sam Oates bideford and demi the dog and the hog and sue rip mr hog were still loving you even though you ate in heaven my pal god will keep him safe till ur reunited with gods angel sue your wife amen and amen from Sam Oates bideford and demi the dog
He would have been FAR more successful and won a lot more World Championships if he had concentrated more on GURLING.
all oof his wsb wins were with massive handicaps nobody can refute this
That's not doing justice to Troy Bayliss at all.
Man had
King Kong balls.

@The Stig's English cousin Agostine said the TT was the hardest race track he had been on
Carl is coward cause never come to GP500 and motogp
