Crazy he almost doesn't touch with his heels at all!! Such a massive inspiration in all areas - not just working his a** off and gifted, but also a humble man giving all his team credit every time.
I learn recently that the kick back heel to butt is more important than the push step. You can see his heel almost touch his butt when he run during that part, and I tried and quite hard physically to do that for average runner. Anyone have some UA-cam or advise on training that part would be interesting ...my heel to butt distance was pathetic and far
lol if ur an average runner u should never be near to kicking your butt, that's a way to get an injury, intermediate/amateur runners should be near it or doing it, intermediate/amateur as in 6:00 per mile (3:45 per km) or faster... if you're talking about average runners as in 7:30-8:00 per mile runners or slower, you should never be kicking back to near your butt, it just is not a good technique at all and it is a big waste of energy
it depends on your pace. If you're trying to run fast, the kick will come automatically. It is natural. But there's no need to kick that high when running slow/easy.
Did those pacers ran the full length too? And if so did they also receive a (personal) record time? I am new to running…hopefully I can one day run a marathon too!🏃🏿
@@randyevermore9323 First thing: why does he cocoon himself with runners? are the runners breaking the wind for him? very likely. Second, those shoes have springs on them.. I say that is no longer a runner.. he might as well use roller skates
@@endo9902 Of course the other runners are breaking the wind for him. It's called drafting, and it's done in all running races. And using springs in shoes is a rules violation. Using a single carbon fiber plate is not. You'll probably argue that it should be, but then you put yourself on the slippery slope to banning things like fiberglass pole-vaulting poles and foam jumping pits, which also improve performance substantially. Maybe we should go back to running barefoot and jumping into dirt?
This video is so underrated yet I still watch it for the several times!!!
He sure makes it look easy doesn’t he
His running form is like listening to Mozart but in a visual way
Kenenisa bekele too
Paul Chelimo too. ua-cam.com/video/ntCi-xYP7KI/v-deo.html

Crazy, I didn’t notice his supination before!
Great form. Hands not too far in front of body. Elbows straight back, smooth stride.
What is a stride? (I'm new to running)

Eluid is running 2:50min/km here. My balls to the wall sprint is fuckin 3:40min/km. Feels bad man
I can sprint faster than 2:50/km for about 800-1000m. But a maraton? I honestly can’t fathom what he did. I really can’t..
@@RichardThe3 You can´t.

As long as I’m not slower than him in slow motion I’m happy
the laser car thingie is so cool

Supination? I'm only familiar with supination and pronation with the hands? Something u guys wanna tell me?🤔
Great race and beautiful technique
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
Crazy how his supination step doesn't bother his ankles for such a long run. I'm pronated and at the 10 mile mark I can feel it in my ankles.
That DNA is superhero!!!!
Taking notes. 🏃🏃🏃
Es un ídolo!!! La técnica ni que hablar

This is epic !
Kipchoge should be chasing a kudu to exhaustion
So nice video please I request you eliud kipchoge every video make a slow motion video
He just seems to land softer and more forward than the others

Lean more forward, use gravity to your advantage & the kick will come

you only kick so you body is able to bring the leg forward so the faster you go, the redder the butt

What's the music playing in video? Wanna use it for my runs..

Nope. What i remember there are 4-5 teams (composed of 5 member i think) every 5-10 km, teams change.
@@porter4911 aha, ok thanks for the info. Were you there or did you follow the event on the telly or something?

Cool video but the return force of those shoes is very suspicious.
still impressive
Suspicious what? They do provide some mechanical advantage by conserving some energy rather than wasting it in unnecessary movement.
