Hi Jules. I just want to tell you how much your videos have helped me. I have bipolar and one of the things I really struggle with is indecisiveness. Shopping is so stressful and hard for me, just because of the sheer number of options out there. I have a short torso body type and I didn't really have a style. Your videos have helped me find clothes that I actually love and feel good in. I have a more balanced wardrobe where I wear everything and feel confident. This might be a very random thing, but thank you so much for making getting dressed and shopping something I now enjoy. You'll never know how much this helped me and I look forward to every new video. Lots of love from sunny South Africa.
Jules! I have dominant shoulders aka broad shoulders and you are absolutely right about jeans balancing things all out. I love flared jeans, bootcut, wide, and straight leg jeans. They do work for me plus my style is relaxed and baggy also.
Love this! You should consider doing a video on finding and styling a white button down! I know it's always mentioned as a classic basic, but I cannot for the life of me make one work😫
I just recently found your channel and your videos are SO good! I always struggle to figure out why a piece doesn’t feel “quite right” and your tips have helped me know what to look out for. Also love how inclusive you are of different body types and style preferences :)
Totally just understood why I normally hate skinny jeans on me, except with my tall light brown boots! (I'm tall, rectangle-ish but broad in general, long torso but legs are still fairly long thanks to my height lol). I normally prefer a flare or bootcut. Your videos are the best out there! Found your channel the other day and it's exactly what I've been looking for for years lol
I've just discovered your channel and I'm so excited to deep dive through all your videos! We're the same height with really similar measurements and I also have the short torso issue! Finally someone I can relate to fashion-wise with tips I can use ❤
This was super great! Also helpful for finding pants in general. Would you ever consider making a video about business formal/professional staples that work for short torso bodies?
Hi Jules, this video is so helpful! Thank you for covering all these aspects when choosing jeans. I always loathe shopping for denim jeans just bcs I don't feel great in it, but went on a whim and bought one that look good on me after trying several pairs at nordstrom. It turns out to check all the boxes you mentioned
I have to leave this comment to show my gratitude although I’m on my way to work. 😊 Your video explained why a lot of things that didn’t work for me in the past. I have broad shoulder, narrower hips and long torso, which I found dressing my body to be very challenging, specifically if I’m not dressing it right, I could look 10 pounds heavier😢 in future videos, could you go over what kind of jacket/coat could be paired with wide leg/straight leg/flare leg jeans. Would love to hear your professional opinions. Thank you very much. ❤
Thank you so much for your hard work and making it all easier for us short torso long leggers! I have learned so much thank you. My question is: I do like a shorter pant leg in order to balance out the bottom. My problem is I have a small waist and thighs but large calves so pants fit me, but if they are shorter they ride up too much and have to pull them down all the time when I stand up. I guess I’ll have to choose a lighter fabric? The is mostly bothering me at work In my business casual pants. Any ideas? Thanks again you are wonderful.
Hey jules thankful for all your videos, can you do one talking about the back of people with short torso, i look deformed from the back and i don’t know ehat to wear
Thank you for this video and all the good ideas! This makes so much sense, now I know why bootleg and wider styles look better on me. Pockets are…a challenge! I’m living in Japan and for some reason the jeans here (Uniqo, etc.) have big pockets. I never had this problem when shopping at home. And it’s weird since Japanese women are so small, so you would expect the jean companies to make jeans with smaller pockets to lift up and create more of a butt there… but no!
I'm from Germany and have been watching your videos for a short time now. I have to say, despite the fact that my English is so good - everything is understandable for me. Mainly through video overlays and pictures. To me: small, belly, thighs with more weight. Longer legs than torso and normal feet. However, very strong calves and not in the standard form (my thickest point is further down). What bothers me the most? The bulge at the height of a pair of "low rise" jeans on the lumbar spine and my lower abdomen.
I've noticed you never wear a belt in your jeans. Is that because it's wise not to wear one being short torso? I'm 5'2, a rectangle shape and short torso.. Thanks! X
Hey Jules I'm planning to order a pair of jeans for the first time from Old Navy through their website and I'm wondering what inseam is best for my long legs for my bootcut jeans? The inseam choices on the site are short or regular. Thank you🙂
I’m actually not very bothered by the rise “labels” each brand decides on. After all, there’s no standard definition, to your point. What drives me bonkers is not finding the number of inches in their item description. If it’s not darn near 9.25”, it will not work on me. 🤪
Right?! One of the most frustrating aspects of shopping for pants/jeans online. Like every brand is different, so at least tell me what "mid rise" means to them!
Jeans are such a struggle for me 😭 I've struggled to find a pair that don't fall down/sag on me as I wear it. Through lots of trial and error I've found my sweet spot for rise and inseam. But all the brands I've tried the jeans just end up falling down on me eventually the more I move around, and they're not big and I even wear a belt and it still happens. (Same thing happens when I wear leggings, the crotch ends up bagging out and it's so uncomfortable)
Is it actually possible to find more structured straight-ish leg jeans that make your butt look good? The models are always posing in weird angles, so I suspect it's not possible...

Hi, i need advice. What hair lenght should short torso girl wear to look good?
Where should cropped pants hit to avoid looking stumpy and short?

I never thought to balance out my jeans with my shoulders. Great tip!

The big pocket trend seems to be getting bigger!

Good tips
I have purchased too many Jeans I hate. Thank you for the video!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💙
Sameeee. Lessons learned!
Where can I find more low rise jeans
I’ve seen recently some at Express, Nordstrom, H&M, Old Navy, American Eagle, and Abercrombie!
I have a short torso, long legs, inseam 31 inches. I can’t go shorter with jeans because I have fatter ankles.
Same here.
How about a high waisted leggings for short torsos?
This video might help 😊 ua-cam.com/video/SqGookqvwC8/v-deo.html

Start with regular! You can always get them hemmed if you need to go shorter but you can’t make them longer if you buy short
@@JulesBeth Thanks so much!

That IS a struggle! Is it the stretch maybe? Are they too stretchy?
@@JulesBeth I’m not sure. I’ll test that out! The ones I find to give the least trouble are the Levi 720
Your looking beautiful my friend your looking so beautiful I. Jeans
Thanks so much!

Personally I seem to always sacrifice my pockets when it comes to more structured jeans. They seem to always be really big!
