AI has more skill in 1.6.. they can keep wheel to wheel and make some pretty aggressive passes. That being said, they do spin more often when it's slick now. it's still a bit unbalanced, but they're better to race against.
Unfortunately the only thing I don't like about the recreation of older seasons in skins is the inability to have more teams for certain years. For example, 1988, 1989, 1990,1991 ETC skins packs for F1 don't cover every team that partook in those seasons. All the way to 1995. Reiza has said they will change this but would be nice to see that happen before the second coming of Christ.
Not the same tech like in today's F1 cars. But you could toggle the active suspension while driving, thus achieving a drag reduction, ie. mor etop speed. They didn't call it DRS back then, but it followed the same principle.
I agree with you on some point Timo, however what's missing a lot in AMS2 is that you have only 2 or 3 models for a 26 car grid. That's bad. You can't really take the 1991 Lotus and try to make the 1991 San Marino gp because this Lotus 102b could only be present as a skin..... That's so sad.
Yes, obviously AC and, with some restrictions, rF2 are suitable for recreations. One could argue that handling and FFB were better in AC or rF2. However AI in AC is meh, and rF2 is a technical gamble. Hence, in total and as a package, for me AMS2 is the most accessible and rewarding.
@@TimoDick I totally agree with you I model ans edit tracks in rf2 so I know the mess. When everything is done correctly it's a great game. But a mess to edit True indeed AMS2 is the better entry point 👍🏻
Totally agree, we classic F1 PC gaming AMS2 players may be few, but we certainly have the best sim out there for this era. !
Sim, é o melhor simulador, o mais realista.
AI in AMS2 is too fast with slicks on a wet track. I hope this gets finally fixed with update 1.6. But I don't think so...
@@blablabla1612 Sadly true. But maybe we can experiment with the Wet Skill value in the Custom AI?
@@TimoDick According to Reiza, that could be the clue.
I will try to set wet skill to values about 0.3 and see if there is any difference when the track gets soaked.

That's been mostly fixed in the beta, they are actually a bit too slow ironically. Still being fine tuned, but much, much better.
Please do more races like this Timo. Great video!
Great content mate!!
I agree timo! Alot of my content is based on this and gotta thank ams2 for the experience :)

I would love to have pre qualifying too, would be the cherry on top
great video Timo
Did the mp4-8 have DRS?

An accurate mod support Is needed.
@@arcidg yes but the games engine is unfortunately not made for that
