- Surf Fishing using Texas Eye Finesse Jigheads and Z-Man Plastics. This jighead catches a ton of fish! using the 1/8th oz version (1/6th if stronger current), I throw various finesse plastics from @ZManFishingProducts such as the TRD MinnowZ and slay em on the surf! Key is to let the lure fall to the bottom and just wait during the initial cast. Then work it at the bottom back to ya. Easy as Pie!

I have used a similar setup. It was a ear jig with the mustad 91768 30degree jig hook attached with a split ring and hitchhiker keeper

What a target rich environment. Finesse for the win! The first day I ever fished the surf, no one was catching anything, including a very experienced guy. So I ignored all the advice and switched to a finesse presentation and caught a few. People saw this, came over and asked me what I was using. Funny to have people asking me how when it was my first time.

Seems like there are more people fishing next to you as the day went on. Sometimes the CDM rods are too soft for a good hookset or too stiff for easy casting. But the C7112L seems like it's a good balance. Maybe a tad stiffer in the backbone would be perfect.
@@pacman_17 they were watching my brother and I slay lol. The long rod allows more power when setting hooks. Which can be dangerous for our thin lines, so be careful when looking for em long stiffer rods!
damn bro you caught a lot!!! I love this bait and I use the same technique cast it out let it hit bottom and then pop it and retrieve except you pop it way more than I do so I went out yesterday and got 6 bass in one hour in a spot I usually do well in, but I popped it more often and felt like it made a difference!
@@DogDudeDrone believe it or not.. I made so many videos off one trip on the surf. I just change up lures and setup and sometimes... Even a shirt lol...

@@DogDudeDrone yes I catch some big fish from time to time. Never a weakfish. Maybe one day.
Always wondered why in NJ, No one uses weedless bass hooks. I get the hookup ratio won’t be the same. But the seaweed is soo bad with shore fishing with open hooks in jersey.
NJ actually don't have that much weeds compared to some other states. Can't wait to explore other waters in the country one day for some inshore fun!
