I definitely love both they have there use. I also use damiki bait holder hooks they have a square bait holder instead of a screw lock so they work great with zman style plastic
Zman’s swimbait eye jig heads come in 3/0. Another option, esecially for the 4” baits.
I need a 3/8 for the 3 inch Minnows Z as fish in current. Whats your advice. 1/4 iin not enough weight and the trout eye is the tight size hook.
Can the red eyes catch trout as well?
I went out this last Sunday and hammered the trout and reds with a 1/8oz trout eye paired with zman swimmin trout trick in the electric chicken color. Probably the best day on the water all year.
Awesome!
Damn I was just looking at these Jigheads today, I love the z-man trout eye.
Just a couple of thoughts... most times a fish will key in on the eye of its prey when they strike. The shorter shank jig head has the hook point closer to the eye of the hook leading to more hook-ups. For fish like Spanish mackerel, if you aren't using wire leader or heavy mono/ fluorocarbon, you'll get significantly more cutoffs with the short shank, but the longer shank will help keep teeth away from the leader giving you fewer cutoffs.
Great Point Ray!
Great explanations and analogies. Thank you 🐟
Thanks for taking the time to leave the nice comment!
Thankyou for making this video!!! I’ve drove myself crazy deciding which I should buy. I don’t plant to use any plastics over 4 inches so I now know I can use the trout eyes and be just fine.
Thanks for watching, glad you found this helpful!
I also love the slam shady 2.0 great action and durability
We greatly appreciate your support!
I like the 1/8 oz Striper Eye jig heads for your jerk shads
That's a great pairing!
Great video, Thanks😃
You're welcome!
