Yes! Matt. Courtesy and politeness have fallen to the shoulder of the road we all travel. I carry. I'm polite. I don't show my hand. That only exposes ignorance.
I stopped drinking when I started to carry. I only drank at bars and parties. Since I don't go anywhere without protection and don't drink at home I drink maybe 1 day a year. 4th of July I have people over and I drink.
@@m16ty i don't even miss drinking. I have tons of bottles at home that have been here for years unopened. 2 5 gallon buckets of something country people often enjoy. I stopped trying to explain it to people like that and if they think I'm scared all the time I don't want to be around them.
Absolutely! Politeness costs nothing and makes everbody else's lives nicer! You feel good too; there are no real downsides. Make a point of it to just be polite.
Thanks James great info. Part of being a good person is keeping your ego in check. Ego gets more people in thrown in jail or killed than most other causes.

All great advice James! Show and tell is the worst idea. If someone can accurately describe your firearm, you can be falsely convicted of pointing it at said person & lose your right to own a firearm as well as be charged with a crime you didn't commit
Excellent points on situation awareness and holding ourself to a higher standard. Carrying a gun is useless if you are buried in your phone or are daydreaming. You have to see trouble coming when it is a long ways away.
Thanks for the example of road rage, I’ve been so guilty of it for so long. This has opened my eyes to change. Thanks for pushing us to examine our lives at every opportunity to become better!
*Taking your gun apart and placing the different parts scattered all over your car is a great idea!* *It probably offers more security than a locked metal bocks.*
Robert Heinlein is credited with the phrase "an armed society is a polite society." Until I began concealed carry about 30 years ago I always thought that meant a proliferation of firearms would mandate that our fear of one another would make us more well behaved. I came to find that the enormous responsibility of carrying a firearm actually created a sense in myself that I would go however far out of my way necessary to avoid any situation that might require a firearm's use. Jame's admonition at 3:40 is spot on.

SO TRUE!! We get 5-10 BMVs a night and guns are the number one thing stolen! Shocking how many people leave their vehicles unlocked.. Great advice. Stop leaving your guns in the vehicles

Consistency is key. Scream at people on the road, in the grocery store, while holding a door for them etc.... But seriously, the road rage part hit it perfectly. When somebody does something on the road, it is taken very personally. Almost as if they started their day with the intent of finding you and cutting you off. It takes a lot of work, but keeping your cool will keep bad stuff from happening. Good stuff James keep it up!

Hello James, I have been carrying a long time, and have seen hundreds of UA-cam videos on gun reviews, carrying protocols etc. I have watched your channel for years, and although this last video was not an in-depth review of a firearm or your personal opinion on a controversial topic, it is ,in my opinion, the BEST one I have seen you or anyone else do. Thanks.
The thing about not leaving guns in your car *cannot* be stressed enough. Coworker of mine just had his car broken into and a pistol stolen from his glovebox the other day. Seen this happen to numerous people in my life.
Ya carrying a gun(2lb weight in your pants) for 30+ years is a pain in the ass. It's not glamorous it kinda makes you paranoid at first. But wouldn't be caught without it! Ever!
I know James addressed this when he says to "be polite, be the better person", but I would like to expand upon that by reminding everyone who carries 'to avoid any/all physical confrontations with any/everyone while carrying a gun'.
