    Hello Sir, the air pressure vs the cfm usage is a good bit more than where I thought it would be. That was surprising. Thank you as always for the info. Cheers

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  4 місяці тому

      Hi Bryan, both of these are shown by the manufacturer as being around 10 cfm, that's because they are being tested at 16psi, which is lower than most use them at, once up to 20 to 22 psi the consumption increases accordingly so they can be rather air hungry for many, cheers mate 👍

      If you look at the air horns, that will tell you the bigger picture. The holes are bigger than your average reduced pressure gun, so CFM is pretty much set there. They give it further advantage by rating it at a lower psi, less primary jets (LV4), and split tip. Intriguing design, but not the end all be all on air consumption. From my experience, as you turn it up, it starts to lose some of its advantages on overspray and air consumption because it's still a bit slow

      @peteshobbies5383  4 місяці тому +1

      @bosshawg7427 Yes, definitely on overspray when at 24 to 25 psi which some use them at.
      The LVX cap looks like the WBX cap, I keep meaning to try them on each other but haven't got around to it yet

      @peteshobbies5383 I have a LVX albeit it looks a bit worn. Honestly, I'm not that impressed with it for what it is intended for. The LV4 still sprays fine enough for basecoat, so I don't get thr LVX's popularity

    Thanks for another interesting video. I have been going back to watch all the old ones as I just found you. All thumbs up.

      It works so well, I actually have 2 of them on the go sometimes, as you say, it so much easier than running around, and I find you get better coverage as you get a good view all round.
      Cheers, buddy, I appreciate it 👍

    The main thing for people to consider is the original LPH400 was marketed for US EPA regulation to have 10 psi at the air cap with the suggested inlet pressure. The EPA could care less about the final finish, but the air cap pressure is the requirement. That said, other guns can actually outperform it but at the price of higher air cap pressures, paint wastage, overspray, etc. Luckily, those painting as a hobby are not bound to EPA regulations, but are limited to only 3 full resprays per year.

      Hi Boss, As with similar laws in the UK , they are very difficult to police. It would require someone sitting on your shoulder to enforce them for the most part anyway

    • @bosshawg7427
      @bosshawg7427 4 місяці тому +1

      @peteshobbies5383 no doubt, Pete. This is why some get away with pumping up the pressure. Still, the LPH400 with either cap is classified as HVLP in the US. The split tip obviously gives it some atomization advantage, but to be honest, I'm a little more impressed with a RP, transtech, MP gu nfor clear as they can get as smooth of a finish with not much more overspray, and a bit faster. I do full resprays for that matter. The air consumption is just as low as the LPH400 used at the suggested pressure. I've now relegated the LPH400 to basecoat, which ironically is opposite since most favor it for clear. The atomization for metallics and paint savings for expensive base seems to be my liking. That's only my experience, though, as I try to learn more from watching your videos. ❤️

    Hi Pete, great video and a good comparison of these 2 guns but I was surprised as to how much air they use at 1.3 bar but then I suppose they need more volume of air to get a good finish at the lower pressure, hmm I'm describing an HVLP gun there🤔
    You can't argue with the finish though mate as there is nothing between the 2 finish wise both gave a nice flat finish with a hint of the OEM peel but as you said they would both give a better finish at a higher pressure👌cheers mate👍
    Oh I'll get your guns back to you this coming week💪thanks again for the use of mate👏👍

      Hi John, Yeah, both these are quoted around 10cfm, but that's at 16psi so 1.1 bar, once you bump it up it does start to use the air.
      I forgot I had lent them to you mate, thanks for reminding me, I thought I had just lost then 🤔, cheers John 👍

    Hola, buena noche.
    Lo felicito tiene videos muy interesantes y muy ilustrativos, quiero hacerle una pregunta, yo pinto mis modelos a escala con aerografos, vi varios videos, donde ud recomienda la IWATA LPH 50, quiero preguntar que ud cual me recomienda más IWATA G6 o IWATA LPH 50 cual piensa que me dará mejores resultados.
    Muchas gracias.

      Hi Buddy, The LPH50 is more like a small spraygun, and the G6 is more a big airbrush, so for bigger areas, the LPH50 is better. It's also available in different sizes

      Hi Mate, They are all quite different, so it depends on what you are after really, Wider4L is a low-pressure gun, and the other aren't, the Kiwami4 BA4J is much faster than all the others

      @@peteshobbies5383 Hi Pete, personally, I think the Kiwami4 BA4J is a very good all rounder and consumes less air compare to the WB and WBX. But, after watching your review for the Porphis PRD-715MP and Porphis PRD-717VS, I might give them a try as I think they are quite attractive! Cheers, mate!

      @benjaminchu6699 I would agree 100% mate, the Kiwami4 BA4J is a great all round gun, unfortunately, at the moment, Iwata have halted there production, not the WB or WBX just the BA4J, hopefully it's only temporary.
      I think you will be impressed by the Porphis guns. They certainly aren't your typical Chinese guns. Thanks, buddy 👍

    Im gonna have to try the kapci clear. Ive seen it on ebay for $170usd for the kit. Not bad. The upol 2822 is $150. Ive been playing around with settings on my lph400 1.3 lv4. Its actually pretty fast at higher pressures but its better if you close the fan some otherwise it over atomizes. You have to deal with higher overspray tho. Low and slow works well for me in my garage so I dont get so much fog in the air. Wide open fan and 20-22psi works with my thinner clear. I have a w400 wbx in 1.2. I believe the wbx cap is similar to the lvx cap. Ive swapped them around. The lv4 cap on the w400 atomizes clear very well. Its not too slow either. The wbx is good too just different. I think all the caps can spray similar if you tweak the settings

      You may want to check out SPI clear, it is made in the USA and their top clear is excellent and decent priced for the kit.
      Their 1 gallon kit makes 2 sprayable gallons.

      @@MarcBchannel I run the LPH at 29 PSI for the clear. I typically use High Solids or UHS clears for longevity, durability and quality glossy finishes. The SPI products are very good, they are comparable to the top brand clears, you just aren't paying for the massive marketing of the name brands.
