Ive never seen this instrument! My family have been here in the Americas since the 15 hundreds and it facinates me how some have been here for millennia. I wish so much of native culture wasnt smothered out. Thank you for the song my friend:)
Oh, that is wonderful to hear. There were some double flutes among ancient Southwestern Native peoples, and also the Maya in Yucatán. This flute is made by Guillermo Martinez of California. Thanks for your interest in this musical tradition!
@@aneutralopinion1712 Yes, he is. He was a student of the late Xavier Yxayotl, the most famous maker of Aztec multi-chambered clay flutes. He also made the flutes for André 3000’s recent album, New Blue Sun. He combines practical artistry with spiritual wisdom. Quite a gift to the flute community!
