my series recommendation is "anne with an e"!! it's based on the classic "anne of green gables" and is on netflix. it's just a stunning show. the acting, writing, cinematography, set design are beyond brilliant and it tackles so many current issues like racism, lgbtqia+ rights, classicism, grief, beauty standards, indigenous history, sexual harassment and censorship, amongst others, but it's still so heartwarming and genuinely beautiful at its core and celebrates found family, love for nature, the importance of art in all its forms, the way education can open doors, the highs & lows of growing up... anyway, as you can tell, i cannot recommend this show enough. it's been such a comfort to me this past year 🧡

I agree with you that even if it's considered as "leisure", watching a tv series or reading a book consistently really helps with keeping a structure on a day to day basis 😊
When They See Us was definitely one of the best series I’ve ever watched as well. Extremely heart-breaking but also full of hope. Also, I bought Girl, Woman, Other a while ago but never got around to reading it, I’ll definitely add it onto my TBR pile again! I feel like we have a really similar taste in these things, so I thought I’d share my own recs as well, maybe you’ll like some of them!
Shows: The end of the f*ing world - british coming of age series about two teenagers on the run, it’s so funny and absurd and heartfelt and honest. The camera work is beautifully done as well, made me want to pause and draw the scenes on the screen.
Podcasts: (apart from yours ofcourse 😋) You’re wrong About - two American journalist who take turns in researching and debunking social phenomena/events that we think we know about but in actuality don’t really - so well researched and interesting; a great way to learn about things in an entertaining way! They cover things like: Stonewall, Princess Diana, the Obesity Epidemic, Stockholm Syndrome, Etc.
Books: Anxious People by Frederik Backman - one of my latest reads, and I throughly enjoyed it; set in a small Swedish town, a story about a bank robber, a hostage situation at an apartment viewing and 8 anxious strangers.
Extremely enjoyable, sarcastic, witty, but also action packed, deceiving and moved me to tears!
Creators: Leena Norms - such a clever woman, she does videos about life in your twenties (renting, school, fashion, books, the environment) and overall just very thought through and witty and educational content? I love that lady she’s the best

books recs: burn our bodies down by rory power, i finished this in an hour it’s incredible. song of achilles by madeline miller: this book is just beautiful, the prose is incredible.
tv show recs: american horror story is my favorite show of all time, it may have some disturbing themes but the acting is INCREDIBLE. american crime story is also amazing, my favorite season was the people vs. o.j. simpson. parks and recreation is one of the funniest shows of all time, and i love it so much !!

Never Have I Ever is good!!! I always loved tv series or movies with Asian casts. I’m on episode 3 and I can say I’m quite hooked on the series.

I absolutely loved 'It's A Sin' and 'The Flat Share' too! The former is the most moving TV show I've seen in quite some time. Then for the latter I got through the book pretty quickly as I was so engrossed haha. Love Taylor Swift too.
