    I love this rig...and when you had it hanging off your hip like that, was the coolest shots I've ever seen with the zv1!
    I literally just sold my zv1 yesterday, and now you immediately made me regret it.
    Great vid!!

      I've since modified it a tiny bit more, added the sony ECMG1 as recommended by a user comment, and it's significantly smaller than the already small senheiser, and a manfrotto pocket tripod. The camera went from meh... to absolutely loving it now. Battery life is outstanding, like you can leave the highest sleep time of 30 minutes and not have to worry about it depleting throughout the day, it is just so nice not having to worry about the battery, this is essentially a whole new animal at this point, been using it for content on my other channel, and it is fantastic, my full frame rigs will have the advantage in IQ, but that's about it, the zv1 rigged out is so much more convenient while providing relatively good IQ in a manageable package.

      @@CharlieVN it's so impressive and makes complete sense seeing it rigged up as you're really just filling out it's weak points, and now you got a killer rig for any occasion!

    For real, that setup does a lot of things really well and people could make killer content w/that gear 👌
    However, once we start talking minimalist, ngl I think most would ditch the A+ optics and decent body to record on the newest handheld AI gimmick infested smartphone and somehow get better video specs anyway (why do they got to do us dirty like that 😭📹)

    you can replace that mic to sony EMC-G1 mic, and it has hot shoe, so u can lose that mic cord line, it will look much cleaner with G1 mic

      EMC-G1 is only 35 gram

      interesting, not sure why sony didnt allow the ECM-B1M to work, as I already have that. The Sennheiser is an older mic and it kind of looks cool, the other mic I tend to use a lot is the rode wireless, either works fine for this setup.

      I finally had a chance to look up this item, and surprisingly, it is compatible with the zv1 mk 1. Going to cost me man 😂😂😂

      @@CharlieVN ya im telling u cuz i have zv-1 with ECM-G1, of course they r compatible, otherwise i wouldn't recommand u, and it looks cool as well. its even lighter and smaller than mke200. i have mke200 too, i chose G1 over mke200 at the end, my mke200 is sitting in the dust now lol, and G1 cost only about 100USD? and i think G1's sound qulity is a little bit better than mke200

    Why not use a camcorder? I start build a Camvate cage, fallow focus and all on it. In total i spend about 700,00 for cage + stuff and that is the price for a good camcorder :)

    • @CharlieVN
      @CharlieVN  7 місяців тому

      I have a camcorder, used one back in the day, but they are large relative to sensor size. They usually do not start wide enough. Have a look at the z90v, $2800, 1000g. The ax700 is $1400, usually a lot more, happens to be on sale, great price currently, 935g a lot closer in price. Both have 29-350mm lenses, which will be great outdoors, probably struggle indoors. On top of that, almost nobody makes camcorders anymore, they simply sell really old ones, the market is abandoned. Rigging is about taking tradeoffs, using a square body, against what is preferred, because of the high value.

    I think it would have worked better if the camera was in a cage.

    • @CharlieVN
      @CharlieVN  7 місяців тому

      it certainly would have been easier, but taller by 2 inches, and I didn’t want that additional height. i can fit this rig in a tiny sling, even a holster, without taking it apart. the additional height would put me over.
