I've finally gotten the machine and grinder myself and I found this video very helpful. The manual and website suggested starting as high as grindsize 11 and to fine-tune it from there, but the reality was that you'd end up with way too much liquid within the given timeframe. So I was worried there was some big secret I had not yet found out about, but then I tried your suggested grindsizes and not only did the amount of liquid look so much more to what it should be, but also when comparing flavours (I had kept the old one I made to compare) were so much different. I haven't been drinking coffee for long, but now I finally understood what watery coffee meant and what I should be looking for. For me everything tasted bitter, but when comparing both I finally started tasting the various elements on my tongue. Now I finally have a starting point of where to start dialing in, I think it would've taken me forever if I had stuck to the manual instructions. So thank you for this video, it is really on point and I found all the tips very helpful, I even got the cup with the handle you have and I love it!

Yayyy! I was hoping you did an updated version of your bambino plus review since I recently got my bambino plus in sea salt and I love it! I've been playing around with it everyday since I put everything together last week. I also got the smart grinder pro in sea salt and I finally dialed it in with my fresh roasted beans from my local coffee shop. I too put the entire bag of beans into the hopper. It makes more sense that way so now all I have to do is press start and I get my 18 gram dose.
One thing I must say I have been reprogramming my bambino plus everyday because I stop it at 36-38 grams of espresso and then when I go to make the next shot the bambino doesn't give me the same amount of water (espresso) that I programmed it to which is frustrating so I'm thinking of resetting it back to the factory settings and manually stopping it at my correct output weight. I would have to weigh my shot every time I make espresso which is fine I guess. Does that happen to you with your bambino plus?
Also I wanted to let you know that the bambino plus does comes with 4 baskets now. I heard in the past it only used to come with 2. Single shot and double shot dual wall pressurized baskets. Now it comes with single shot and double shot single wall non pressurized and dual wall pressurized baskets. The dual wall pressurized baskets is the training wheels one not the portafilter it comes with. The portafilter that comes with the bambino can be used like a regular portafilter but it has plastic in it which doesn't seem to come out easily so I rather use my bottomless portafilter that I got from crema coffee.
Anyway I recently found your channel and I hope you do more videos with your bambino plus showing different lattes you can make with it! I just made a French toast latte earlier and it came out sooo good :P

Great video! My only tip would be that pre-infusion should count towards your shot time window of 25-30 seconds. The bambino also has a delay of around 3 seconds from when the button is pushed so the timer should really start when you first hear the “brrrr” sound.

This was informative for me, great video! Eventually I do wanna get into espresso. My friends like to have espresso (via Nespresso) when we are drinking, so my question would be is it possible to make espresso tipsy? 😂 Funny enough I can cook tipsy, but I think the whole preciseness would go out the door when drinking lol. What do you think about starting off with the tools from the machine and learn to dial in with that, then when feeling more confident get the more pro tools? Than you for all your vids!

I am going to buy the Breville smart grinder but won't be doing espresso right away. I just want my beans ground for my reusable K-Cup for my Keurig coffeemaker. I had purchased an espressione burr mill grinder and oily beans would not get down from the hopper to be ground and the 10 cup setting never ground more than a 3rd of the out cup.
The Breville I hope will be a perfect replacement for my old Cuisinart mill which ground good, but was getting old. I like tech so the Breville smart grinder will be nice though the Cuisinart was $48 and the Breville smart grinder is $200! Ouch.
