I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say that this game was by far one of the most memorable games you could ever play. Not just the story, but the feel and vibe of the music makes you feel so strange and lightweight, but also gives you feelings of peace and nostalgia. This game taught me so much, I remember when I would play it all the time and would always get so mad and end up rage quitting, only to come back 5 minutes later and try again. The 2nd game was by far my favorite, I just really loved the characters. My favorite level was "the factory of a better tomorrow" I think it was called, and I remember every time I saw the negativatron I would be so confused on if I should feel bad or hate them. LittleBigPlanet is a prime example of how devastating it can truly be to hear "Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened." Anyways I cant wait to see what you put out next.
I could watch hours of this editing and video style. You are a massively underrated creator, and despite the fact that this video came out a while ago, it definitely piqued my interest in your other videos. Entertaining the whole way through!
everytime i see videos about lbp it makes me want to cry, it’s like peering straight into my childhood. it hurts, but it’s also beautiful. thank you lbp.
Just stumbled across this because I had looked up some LBP levels out of nostalgia and UA-cam started recommending related stuff. What an underrated channel. Your videos have insane amount of effort put into them in audio and editing, not to mention research.
every bit of this series of games has me feeling so calm and peaceful, while others can get you pumped. also in LBP2, in eve's asylum, you are pretty much revisiting the gardens, bc it contains some of the old characters and voices. childhood was great. we always look back and remember the good times.
The last slider of The Wilderness theme actually uses a santur (at the beginning) and an oud (at the 50 second mark) both Arabic instruments. The Russian gusli sounds more like a harp (and it's plucked, not hammered as heard in the track). My favorite track in the first LBP game is New Delhi Dawn. I can't get enough of the sound of the sarangi which is the prominent instrument used in it. Funny enough, I accidentally discovered New Delhi Dawn uses 2 sarangi sample recordings found in EastWest's RA collection which contains TONS of world instrument samples. I'm not sure if these particular sarangi samples are exclusive to that collection, or if they are shared in other places, but if anyone is interested, these are the ones used (I included the notes because the recordings are slightly different for each note-they didn't simply record once and pitch it down): "Sarangi Mldy 02" heard at 0:25 (C), 0:49 (low F), and 3:02 (low F), "Sarangi Mldy 01" heard at 0:40 (low C), 1:36 (D), 2:10 (F), 2:53 (low C), 3:48 (D), and 4:22 (F), "Sarangi Mldy 03" heard at 1:25 (C) and 3:37 (C), "Sarangi Mldy 04" heard at 2:39 (C) and 2:43 (B♭), and "Sarangi Mldy 08" heard at 2:45 (C). I just remember having a huge whoa moment when I heard those samples by themselves for the first time and they seemed oddly familiar lol
Immediately after writing this comment, I found out Paul Thompson (who composed the cinematic music for LBP2) composed 2 of the official demos on the EastWest RA page. It's crazy to me because I discovered this product from a person that had nothing to do with LBP (I was looking for a realistic FL Studio plugin for uilleann pipes and I was pointed there). It's a small world.
the soundtrack is so nostalgic that it can send you to a different demension the LBP soundtrack makes me have nostalgia for things i can’t even remember which is called anemoia

Been putting off watching this video for a long time… I’m so glad I finally did, and I’m glad I could find a time where I can truly appreciate this video. I can now leave with an even greater appreciation for one of my favorite games of all time.
These covers are amazing. I'd love to hear you cover a bunch more of these tracks, LBP is my favourite series of all time so hearing covers of songs I've heard for over a decade now is really really neat
6:58 saxophone sample is also a garage band loop. From memory there’s quite a few garage band samples. There’s a a specific one I have in mind in the Savannah.
Ahh all the good memories, when I bought the LittleBigPlanet 3, I was not aware that it's done by another studio, but it immediately feels wrong and I don't think I play more than a hour of it. The song selection process is quite interesting, the audio director Kenneth Young asked the whole studio to share music which they see fit, and as Media Molecule is composed of people from various background, the song list is quite versatile. Also they got some support from Sony to do the licensing.
This is actually my favorite video on UA-cam, not because of the amazing editing, but because it made me realize 13 years later that my favorite game of my childhood hat so much more behind it than my little brain could ever have known. Looking back at this game makes me feel an emotion that’s just indescribable, both happy with the memories that came from childhood, but sad that those times are gone and I’ll only forget them with enough time.
Bro what the hecc this is so friggn gooood... I felt the same way about pretty much everything and even learned some new stuff I didn't know. The quality of the video is really professional and the sound design is absolutely amazing. Amazing video my friend. And thank you for making this. (:

This is such an underrated video! I got so much joy out of watching it! And your editing style is so neat! I love how you incorporate actual gameplay and edit it! I learned about new musical instruments I’ve never heard before! Thank you for making this and sharing it to the world! :)
How does this video only have 50k views?? The editing is so goood, i feel so bad for this guy. He put so much time and effort for only 50k views. Nonetheless this was a really good video that really summarised the in-game music. I played lbp since it came out, i still remember as a kid when i played it. The best game to ever exist. There is no game that can beat it, and I certainly know since i’ve been playing games all my life. I’ve played so many games but no game is as good as lbp 1 not the second nor the third but the first.
This video was absolutely fantastic. As an editor myself I can't even imagine the amount of hard work and love that went into making this. Beautiful! And your analysis of the music was amazing to listen to. This game was my childhood and with it's saddening shutdown of the servers I've been trying to bring back some memories, and this definitely brought back a lot. Thank you for making this and keep up the amazing work!!💝💝💝💝💝
They're most likely just looking for keywords that you have banned on your channel and through trial and error trying to find specific information. Like if you had a name banned here it would prevent a comment from being posted, often people will not allow their real name to appear in a comment if they want to remain anonymous-- but if they post a comment fishing for these words and they see on a separate account that their other comment *didn't go through,* then they know you have that word banned and can safely assume that you did it because it's associated with you in some way i.e. it's your name or a family member's name etc. They've been popping up way more lately across youtube. Unfortunately there isn't a ton you can do, you may wanna just remove the words entirely to prevent them from getting any info, but that kinda feels like a bad solution too.
This video was really polished, I'm impressed. I especially like how you mesh the game with video editing really well, a great mixture of game and video mediums. How did this video not blow up? I could watch hours of this editing and video style. You are a massively underrated creator, and despite the fact that this video came out a while ago, it definitely piqued my interest in your other videos. Entertaining the whole way through!
everytime i see videos about lbp it makes me want to cry, it’s like peering straight into my childhood. it hurts, but it’s also beautiful. thank you lbp.
Tea by the sea is based on a song called I do like to be beside the seaside
Glad I found this hidden gem.
Just stumbled across this because I had looked up some LBP levels out of nostalgia and UA-cam started recommending related stuff. What an underrated channel. Your videos have insane amount of effort put into them in audio and editing, not to mention research.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the editing, it’s so good
Make more please! I love the work you put into it!
every bit of this series of games has me feeling so calm and peaceful, while others can get you pumped. also in LBP2, in eve's asylum, you are pretty much revisiting the gardens, bc it contains some of the old characters and voices.
childhood was great. we always look back and remember the good times.
I'm not sure if these particular sarangi samples are exclusive to that collection, or if they are shared in other places, but if anyone is interested, these are the ones used (I included the notes because the recordings are slightly different for each note-they didn't simply record once and pitch it down):
"Sarangi Mldy 02" heard at 0:25 (C), 0:49 (low F), and 3:02 (low F), "Sarangi Mldy 01" heard at 0:40 (low C), 1:36 (D), 2:10 (F), 2:53 (low C), 3:48 (D), and 4:22 (F), "Sarangi Mldy 03" heard at 1:25 (C) and 3:37 (C), "Sarangi Mldy 04" heard at 2:39 (C) and 2:43 (B♭), and "Sarangi Mldy 08" heard at 2:45 (C).
I love this video so much. Feel like i watch it at least once every 6 months
damn, i really wish you talked about all the parts of "my advice"
Or left bank two
or the pod/moon music
@@sarckat7021 or the unused pod music
Incredibly well edited video
I played this so much during 1st and second grade I feel so nostalgic listening to this. I am really into music nowadays and I love how you made this vid. you just got a subscriber
This is insanely high quality video, love it!
Honestly one of the best youtube videos ive seen, it brings me so much nostalgia to hear theses tunes as littlebigplanet was the first console game i ever played
It is criminal that I have a video with more views than this masterpiece that clearly took a lot of time and effort. Seeing someone who still cares so deeply for a game that shaped the childhood of me and many others makes me feel all giddy inside. Thank you for this video. Much love
This video is so well edited, it's very sad that it only has a few views
The memories of me and my lil brother blasting through the levels. Crying . Thanks man.
This was amazing! Great research and presentation, I love how you edited it too!
The way you used LBP's game and level creator is like how they do it for tutorials, amazing work
This appeared in my recommendations, and I think I nearly shed a tear as I was watching. Thank you so much for the music analysis and for the nostalgia!
God, I miss this game! Your editing style feels so nostalgic and.. comforting, somehow! I can see how much care and attention to detail you put in this, gotta binge the rest of your stuff. Keep it up!
Omg thank you for opening my eyes to the beautiful soundtracks of Lbp
Been putting off watching this video for a long time… I’m so glad I finally did, and I’m glad I could find a time where I can truly appreciate this video. I can now leave with an even greater appreciation for one of my favorite games of all time.
I REALLY loved this video, it's the best I ever have seen about Little Big Planet
i was going to say this video feels incredibly reminiscent of a video by Scruffy... and then i saw it was uploaded 4 years ago. really great stuff man
Nope, you were totally right. This video was basically me seeing Scruffy's early videos and trying to emulate them because I loved them so much lol
@@KnightOwl_Art you did a fantastic job! im sure you learned a lot lol
Your editing style really feels like Scruffy's (non-pejorative)
I think it really suits the vibes of lbp :3
I grew up playing this with my estranged sister, i really loved how you could staple stickers and change the world while you played
These covers are amazing. I'd love to hear you cover a bunch more of these tracks, LBP is my favourite series of all time so hearing covers of songs I've heard for over a decade now is really really neat
Awesome video! Also enjoy seeing scruffys appearance elsewhere
Dang you only have 111 subscribers when I finished the video you had about 50,000 or more. But only 111, you are an underrated channel
6:58 saxophone sample is also a garage band loop. From memory there’s quite a few garage band samples. There’s a a specific one I have in mind in the Savannah.
this needs more views
Somehow haven't seen this video until now. I knew Chirp and Orb of Dreamers used the same sample but had no idea what it was from. Very cool to see!
I love this video. And Lbp’s music
This video is amazing! Can't stop rewatching :O
Right when you said Minecraft, It's like I knew what song you were gonna talk about! I could hear it in my head!
Oh hey I've watched this video before
Hey bruh, make some more videos man! Don't give up!!! I would also love to have your track arrangements uploaded!
This is an amazing video. 🙂 LBP & LBP2 will always have a very special place in my heart.
Bro what the hecc this is so friggn gooood... I felt the same way about pretty much everything and even learned some new stuff I didn't know. The quality of the video is really professional and the sound design is absolutely amazing.
Amazing video my friend. And thank you for making this. (:
Love that there are other people across the world that are interested in as niche topics like a 10 year old+ game’s music!!
Littlebigplanet was a big part of my childhood, and watching this video on the games sound track was really heart warming for me. Beautiful video, I loved it.
7:20, yes.
Song 2 is the best Islands song
Thank you for making this and keep up the amazing work!!💝💝💝💝💝
Hey, I know this video is a bit old but I was just wondering where you got the moddified music such as 0:29
I made it :)
@@KnightOwl_Art You did a great job on the editing! I like left bank two with a ukulele and harmonica :)
This is so nostalgic. This was my favorite game when I was around 5-9 and then when Lbp2 came out, it was my favorite for so freaking long
I found out the gardens got parts from garage band in it as well
i KNEW i recognized that sample in chirp somewhere
thank you so much for this breakdown
How do I stop these weird random word/name bots??
Just letting you know, this has, and still is, my favorite vid on yt. Thank you for making this
I don't know 😓
They're most likely just looking for keywords that you have banned on your channel and through trial and error trying to find specific information.
Anyhoo, Little Big Planet was definitely an inspiration to me as a kid like many of the commenters, it's one of the reasons I became a Web and UI designer. It really highlighted a romantic view of creativity that I still hold to this day! I strongly recommend you keep making videos Knight Owl, I know this video is two years old, but if you read this, you got a subscriber out of me, and I have no doubt that this could be a career for you if you kept going with it! Consider continuing, you're talented.
I never played lpb 1, but I wish I had. I played lpb 2 instead, since my parents were annoyingly strict about games. I *_loved_* the music from this game. And I guess the first was just like it. Legendary
Its crazy how this video has only JUST been recommended to me, youtube needs to sort itself out, this video has a crazy amount of effort and I love it.
LBP was legitimately one of the biggest influences on my childhood, i picked it right on release at 9 years old and god does it bring back a lot of memories. the music was always a massive part of what made it special
This video is amazing, and I am really bummed it took youtube two years to recommend it to me. The editing and musical examples are very well made, and I love the clear commentary you wrote to go along with it. I wish you got the views you deserved for this video!
Hello! This video now supports English subtitles.
k
now the deaf people can watch it
oh my god your voice is so perfect you sound like the narrator to an extent, also yes the music gives me EXTREME nostalgia, specifically lbp1 and lbp 2 avalon
trying not to cry at the fact that i'll never play any of the sequels
😢same, i only got to play the first game, so many memories of playing with my friends, I miss it
Genuinely one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time
