What If Sackboy Was A Bomb?

- By swapping Sackboy's material with an impact explosive's, it's possible to have Sackboy behave exactly like a bomb! The most noticeable feature being that he explodes when almost any force is put on him, but that's not the only thing. It also makes Sackboy as light and as strong as a bomb, meaning it's extremely hard to push things and weigh things down with your body, as well as actually having solid collision, making it a bit hard to collect prizes. Something that is disappointing is that things like cardboard and sponge that are a part of the level aren't changed if you blow up near them.
So here is a compilation of deaths and interesting things that happened when I tried to complete a playthrough of the story mode using this mod, with the help of a couple of other modded items. It wasn't mentioned, but First Steps was the only level I was able to complete legitimately, a couple others might be possible, but many weren't at all. I initially saw this done by Metraberryy a while ago and wanted to try it myself, and it was pretty fun, I was jump scared every time I exploded unexpectedly. I may not be uploading for a while now, but there are still a few things I'm planning on making.

I forgot just how volatile Little Big Planet's impact explosives are. Danged things take more care in handling than nuclear waste! Or children! Or nuclear children!
I love how, on one hand, you had to add in infinite-life checkpoints to even begin to attempt some sections. I also love how you actually started trying to use the explosions to your advantage in The Temple levels to flip a couple of switches. Makes me think of a type of level where you use one's own involuntary blowing-up capabilities to solve physics puzzles to progress. I'm not fully sure how you'd go about making that in a conventional Little Big Planet level editor, but I'm sure that someone could come up with something. Heck, it'd make a great game premise on its own. It would be like a game about rocket jumping, but you make things around you go in the air instead of yourself!

Imagine somebody trying to speed run with a bomb in their chest in LBP. It would be painful and completely unfair! I can imagine that they won't have the most fun but instead it's going to be the most painful experience that they have ever imagined. Unless someone is crazy enough to believe that they could beat the game with Sackboy having a bomb in his chest.

With commentary it would be like "at start the run was really difficult, bordering impossible because of Sackboy's volatileness" instead of 3 silent clips showing repeated well cut clips of sackboy colliding with anything and dying, definitely makes the video funnier not hearing the obvious

There's a brief explanation of how it works in the description, and no this wouldn't really be useful, the only beneficial utility this has is how you can stand on top of other players. Yes they are modded costumes as well, I made them.
@@tasryse Oh whoops, I didn’t check that. I still don’t know how exactly you’d be able to change the material collision of Sackboy, but I’m guessing it’s purely a modding thing anyways and therefore I’d assume isn’t hard to do. (I say that even though I have no knowledge on LBP modding as it’s admittedly hard to come across info for lol)
Haha I thought so. I do wonder though how feasible it would be to use it as some sort of challenge. That would be pretty interesting. (And really difficult I’d imagine) Imagine actually trying to beat the whole story mode with that, or even worse without blowing up once. It sounds outright impossible. 😆
Oh cool! You should try sharing them in community levels if you want and if you haven’t already, I always like stuff like that to see what other people can do with their creativity. (No pressure if you don’t want to though, I totally get it. I used to make lots of sticker centric costumes back in the day as well and was afraid of people stealing them. I don’t think that’d be much of an issue anymore, but I could be wrong)
Anyways, thanks for replying! You make good videos. LBP takes me a long way back, I miss those games. Really wished Sony would make an LBP4, HUB equivalent, or re-release of the older games with the online fixed. I know there’s Dreams and Restitched, but it just doesn’t feel quite the same… keep up the good work! All of this exploit and modding stuff is interesting to me. :)
@@ZacharyDietze It is a modding thing and it's quite easy to do, I don't mind explaining it on my Discord tas#6997, and if it weren't completely impossible to do most levels then it probably would be a good challenge. I've shared a few of my costumes through Discord but it's probably not something I would make as easily accessible as a community level.
@@tasryseAh gotcha. Yeah that’s fair, I think having more Discords is a good way to spread out some stuff in general, especially in regards to modding, there’s definitely a lot of those. Modding for stuff like Sonic games and Smash games like 64 Remix and PMEX Remix are just a few other examples that come up at the top of my head.
Yeah I think it would be pretty amusing if it was somehow turned into a challenge of some kind. It kinda reminds me of the times when bomb survival levels were new and everywhere, but more sensitive and chaotic. Stand on something wrong and the sack gets vaporized.
