- Located off the northeastern coast of Taiwan, the Japanese island of Miyako is ringed with white sand beaches and surrounded by crystal clear blue-green waters ideal for snorkeling and free diving. This idyllic Japanese island seemed the perfect inspiration for the HELM Miyako, which is fitted with the venerable Miyota 9015 movement. The watch also features a 316L stainless steel case and bracelet, screw-down caseback and crown, domed sapphire crystal and bezel, highly legible dial and a 200m depth rating. With a case diameter of 40mm, the ISO 6425 compliant Miyako is perfectly sized for any adventure, in or out of the water.

I have had this watch for 8 months now, in blue. It is absolutely gorgeous and very well built, it is a daily driver. I wish there was more lume on the arabics, it lasts all night but I wish there was more of it. The biggest issue with this watch is that the bracelet is very chunky, I wish there was more taper and the links were smaller. For my 6.6inch wrist it is not ideal. Looks great on mesh, leather and rubber.
The bezel does loosen up over time. I wish that the lugs had more space from the case. The crown is amazing, combined with the Arabics it feels like a diver with pilot watch elements. I love the placement of the date! One of the best implementations I have seen.
Adding to his workload, Matt is also ISO testing all his watches.
Thanks for the review.
Good review as usual Will.
I got an early version of this watch with a 2 micro adjust clasp that was, in my opinion, substandard for Helm. However I replaced with the clasp that you have on your version and it transformed the whole feel of the watch.
Prior to replacing the clasp the Miyako had been on a shuggly peg in my collection.
Thanks mate. Yeah, this newer clasp - no complaints from me.
Enjoyable review and a great watch. That wee dab of red next to the date window is a nice touch.
I'm hoping that maybe Matt will to a smaller version of the Vanuatu closer to the size of this one.
Cheers.
A 40mm Vanuatu, now that would be awesome!
GREAT review...thorough (covered everything)...great close-up shots and was kind of funny.
Thanks buddy 👊
@@ZaltekReviews BTW, I agree with you...this is the BEST watch for the money bar none! The grey dial is AMAZING.

Great video as always Will. Love the watch. Joined the waiting list. I'll let you know if I like it in a couple of years. 👍
lol, cheers mate 👍
Lovely watch. Hints of 50 fathoms but looks more wearable size wise. ......
