Just received my Miyako today (11/11/2022) and wanted to give everybody a heads up that the clasp now has 4 holes of micro adjust. Same clasp as in this review, but instead of 2 widely spaced micro adjust holes, it now has 4 closely spaced holes. In my previous comment when this review first aired, I was advised to add the 6 micro adjust Komodo clasp to my Miyako order, just in case I couldn't get a good fit. So I did add the extra clasp, but I didn't need to use it, as it seems that Helm heard the clasp complaints and added the requisite micro adjust holes. I got a good fit on my 7.25" wrist. It's a cool watch!
As a Komodo and Vanuatu owner I wasn't sold on this model but my number came up at the beginning of August so I had another look at it. Turns out they have updated the case to accommodate better strap fitting. The bracelet now has polished accents on the centre links which enhance the overall look. Most significant is the August 24 release of a no date version with a 9039 movement. I ordered a blue one and it's my favourite of the three Helms I own.
Helm sells this bracelet separately, with a 4 micro-adjust holes, fairly cheap. They also sell better clasps, fairly cheap. They have a good selection of quality parts, check it out! Also, as others have mentioned, right now the clasp with 4 micro-adjust holes comes standard, with the watch.
Love Helm! I just very recently had the opportunity to purchase two Helm Divers direct from Helm. The first one just delivered which I'm wearing now. The Vanuatu but mine has the stainless bezel that gives some major German vibes like a fricker style type look. The second Helm I bought is currently on the way and that one is the Orange and blue Khuraburi. I maybe selling my Vanuatu. Enjoy your videos Rob! I wish you could sell my Vanuatu for me. You do it right and you reach a ton of watch guys. My little channel. I did review this new Vanuatu and that video did extremely well. Take care man!
Wow, you like your bracelets tight! Where you said it was loose is where I like mine or maybe even a little looser. I’d have a panic attack if it were any tighter! 😂
HI Bruce i have the Miyako in Blue after checking older reviews of this watch with OP having similar issues with sizing, when I got to place my order I also purchased a Helm FC1 Clasp offering six micro adjustments I have a 7.5 wrist took two links out and the watch now fits perfectly. I do question why this didn't come with the aforementioned clasp? Probably they needed to keep the costs to a minimum? But I feel add an extra $10/15 bucks and I bet they would still have a ludicrous waiting list.
Thanks for showing this. My number's gonna be called for this watch in the next couple of months, so it's good to be aware of the bracelet issue. I've got 7.25" wrists, so it's looking like I'll be 'between links' as well. Hate when that happens! Not a big deal, though, I'll just replace the clasp with a Strapcode or Uncle Seiko clasp that has 6 micro adjusts. Cool watch, thanks for sharing!
I got mine a few weeks back and was lucky with the fit. I also have the komodo which has 6 holes of micro adjustment, so the top tip is this. The bracelet is excellent just go to the accessories page on the Helm site and add the komodo clasp to your order, just 25 dollars. I can also recommend the fkm rubber straps too just 20 dollars and helm branded. I love mine, hope you do too.
@@bobyoutube4037 That's great info, Bob, thanks for the heads up! I will do just that when my number is called and I place the order. Now I just have to decide between black or blue LOL. Thanks for the tip!
@@floydmorrison2025 if its any help, I have the black one and my son has the blue, I should have brought the blue as well, I think the blue is more dynamic in the light. Still love the black one!
@@bobyoutube4037 Yeah I was leaning towards the blue for exactly that reason (dynamics). Seeing as how dark blue dials look black half the time anyway, getting the blue is pretty much the best of both worlds LOL. Thanks!
Thanks for the review! I am on the waitlist for this as well, the bracelet does worry me, I may have to switch out a different clasp or get one of their great rubber straps. Also thanks for the lume shot, was worried the lume wouldnt be as good with the faux patina
Nice, they are good looking watches and seem to be solid for the price point. Hopefully your bracelet fits but have you looked at *forestner bracelets or even a different brand on the secondary market?
@@tockingwatches2377 Helm offers the FC1 clasp, which i got in Titanium. Works well over the last month. Any Ali Express clasp in 20mm will do as well. I tried them out as well
Nice watch but I'm with you on the bracelet, those end links are pretty long and it barely tapers. Still would be a cool watch for the money and just throw it on a strap. And I really like the Reese's Cup crown.
The Miyako based on blanc pain 50 fathoms, just looks wrong. Way too fussy. While the original 50 fathoms has the right balance. I have the Mayako from Helm to complete the collection. But I don't really like it. My favourite of the three that I have is the Vanuatu. I didn't like it in the photos. Posted on the Helm website. But in the metal it looks just right. I am waiting for the Khariburi as the last collection of Helm, hope it doesn't disappoint
PADI certified recreational scuba diver and Vanuatu owner here. Yes, I always wear a certified diver’s watch, along with a divers computer console when diving. Many divers like to wear a dive watch along with their console but it isn’t really necessary nowadays and hasn’t been for the 30 years I’ve been diving. I can’t speak to professional divers but I’d guess many of them do also, (think Comex Submariner) if not for backup safety reasons, then maybe just out of tradition. Most Diver style watches, whether ISO certified or not, are purchased and worn by non diving watch enthusiasts who just like the look. The rotating bezel countdown timer is useful out of the water and a dive watch makes a rugged all around sports watch.
a new watch from helm while i'm still waiting and waiting and waiting for any (ANY) of the previous models. i don't think this stuff is rocket science.
Nice, but clasp seems badly chosen. Such a shame manufacturers feel the need to keep the pointless date complication. Cool watch otherwise, I like it. Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
When I was given the chance by Helm, I pulled the trigger on a titanium Vanuatu and a blue dial Khuraburi. I just couldn't say the same for the Miyako. I had the chance, but I just couldn't do it.
Helm makes a super solid watch. They offer different bracelets. That’ll it’s too bad that this clasp has essentially I micro adjust. I’m in this waitlist but probably won’t buy the Miyako.

I put mime on a Strapcode Beads of Rice bracelet with straight end links. I think it fits better the vintage style of the Miyako.
I got my alert email today that in 7 days I can order mine.
Looks like Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
I have a Komodo, Vanuatu and the new Miyako which I swapped out the clasp with a Helm with more micro adjustments.
I had to order a seperate clasp. The 2 holes were not right for me. I paid $25 for the 6 hole clasp.

Looks like they have adjusted the clasp to have 4 micro adjust holes now.
“Bruce Loose” 😂😂. Definitely need more micro adjustments on the clasp.
Very attractive piece 👍
Nice vid showing the watch. It's a good watch, too bad it is not your cup of tea.

This watch is produced in Shenzhen, China.
So is your phone and computer.
Or, you can buy a swiss-made watch of similar quality for $1,000 more 😃
