8 to 9 thousand rpm. with a properly built ls or better yet, a flat plane motor like a coyote you can push 10 thousand rpm. It takes more money than it does for the civic, but the bigger motor always has greater potential for power. Doesn't matter if it's a turbo 4 cylinder because if you turbo an 8 cylinder it's not even a contest. The only thing that makes the little 4 cylinders so fast is that the cars themselves are ultra light weight and they don't need to worry about the rear wheels hooking because they're usually fwd or AWD. Put an all wheel drive civic with a b or k series up against an AWD civic with a high revving ls or coyote and there won't be any contest. Another advantage those high revving motors have is they don't break traction as easily because they have to rev way higher to get a similar torque output. Horsepower is torque multiplied by rpm, you can make 1000 hp with any motor if you rev it high enough, but revving high just wears shit out faster. Having more low end power translates to having more top end potential. There is no secret magic sauce to make a 4 cylinder better than an 8 cylinder, other than money. But we all know that if you put obscene amounts of money into any car, it'll go fast. Civics are fun, quick little cars. It doesn't matter if they're not as powerful if they're enjoyable to the owner.

For years our minds have been conditioned to think that fun is instant. P*rn, drugs, alcohol, video games, social media, literally ALL of them have been conditioned to feel enjoyable in the moment. It’s crazy nowadays to think that fun/enjoyment will happen later. After years of instant gratification, I can understand why we think this way. Fun has been conditioned to be instant. @@pettypablo I def do, I’m not saying “I think that this car is misfiring” I’m saying when people set up their exhausts to sound like this it sounds like a car that is missing imo. Hmm, the sound is heavenly. I’d like to know just how the tuner took it from a Rev back into a lope so fast. If I was a betting man, I’d say that was Two different engines.
That noise is downright exotic. I love how menacing, yet elegant it sounds

That one Honda civic hitting 18,000rpm in the Walmart parking lot
184 likes and no comments? Let me fix that bro
In your dreams
18,000 rpm is not possible on a Car inline 4 engine.

god those cams AND 2 step. the sounds are heavenly.
Cam, singular. It's an ls
Cam without 2 step sounds best,2 step just for launch but us og racers never used 2 step we used our ears skills n rpm guage
@@nathantimpe9108 no, there are cam lobes making up a camshaft. multiple cams make a camshaft.
@@jacobwest5070then you say “cam lobes” not “cams”. It’s one camshaft in the LS no matter what you call it.

Closer to the ideal efficiency RPM for this engine I'd guess.
8000 will sound so so soo good 🤩
8000 will brick the engine.
i don’t know if it can rev that high since it’s a pushrod
