Hi varun i'm a JEE aspirant and this is all I needed to hear today. So yesterday there were a few things/concepts I didn't understand in class and so I got back home worked hard revised went in fully prepared for the class today and I knew and could understand new things very easily today. So now today after leaving the class I was super confident no no actually over confident. I have been through this cycle so many times but I think this video is going to put an end to it now. After watching this now I just like to believe tht I know things but there is still a lot more to learn and explore. Just wanted to say Thank you. It has saved my preparation from having a crash again:)
Man the quality of these videos are getting so much better. Just from a visual perspective everything seems to look so much nicer. The thumbnail, the colors, the texts, the addition of subtitles, the use of illustrations. It all looks really clean. And I as a viewer really appreciate the efforts you guys take to produce such high quality videos, so thank you for that.
This was my greatest lesson of 2021, man you content... 🔥 I won't say it is arrogance or ego but it is just the overconfidence, now I realise I had to go through that, it was important. Learn, Unlearn & Relearn.
I am reminded of Kohli when I see this video. He was odi player of the year 2012, smashed a century off 52 balls against Aus in 2013 and then in England tour 2014, I think that would be the lowest point in his career. He actually did very badly. But then he made up for it in the future.
i just started with stand up comedy , i did 2 open mics on 20th and 21st sep which was yesterday. in 2 days i realized i now know where i am and this video feels 100 times more relatable currently in my arrogance breaking stage hahaha . thanks for sharing varun bhaiya :)
The statistic of plane being safest is skewed at 2:05 Planes travel the longest distance so the denominator is excessively huge for them. It should be no of accidents / number of vehicles in the world. Because by this metric space shuttles would be safer than planes, because they literally travel a lot more than regular commercial planes (relatively) and hence gives them special advantage in this metric.
If this video was about duning and Kruger effect I will definitely not watch , because there already tons of video there , I learned here is how to present your content , how to see it from different perspectives . And here varun did it well , I guess I will learn more from this channel in upcoming times . Thankyou
Yes ..i know my school chairman think that he know all about our thinking and all about how far we students can think ...he walks like he is the king of that place ,like a dictator and think that he is the richest ...he think that we are of no value
I got confused the first time I saw this video's short of Varun himself because I thought Dunning-Kruger effect basically implies that under-skilled people or people with no skills have a conflated amount of confidence in their competency. And here Varun is talking about people with a little amount of experience and knowledge becoming complacent and over confident. Actually if you look at the graph that signifies the effect, that is what it actually shows. Although many people on the short disagreed with the video and said that it is exactly opposite of the Dunning-Kruger Effect, but they are so wrong. Because if one looks at it properly, at first both, confidence and competence of the person are zero but after they have acquired a little amount of skill, that is when they become overly confident and tend to make mistakes and even lose consistency in order to have more clarity about their own skills and the field at large. But after being consistent for sometime they experience a crash and then go through the ''I don't know anything" phase. And after that, by being a little most consistent and going through that crash they get to achieve some humility because of the competence and experience they have been able to acquire.
I knew the Dunning-Kruger effect before, but after watching this video I learnt many more perspectives. So I faced Dunning-Kruger effect on learning Dunning-Kruger effect.😳😳😳😳
yep, I saw the ted talk of mark rober about the Super Mario effect and it says the same thing!! keep up the good work, and when is the next episode of TRIFECTA OF REALITY coming waiting for it
Hey Varun can you make a video on engineering Is it worth it to spend so much money and time in 2021 or learning (distance) is better (and acquiring a skill obviously) It would really help since JEE results are out now
Since I am at end of my engg(I also wrote JEE, coudnt make it, joined a regular college) here is what I have learnt. - You dont go to college to learn - You go to college to talk to all the ppl in the business(your peers, it can make you realize your market worth, and the profs) - Going to IIT is like getting spoon fed the Network( all the peers have good standards, the profs know their shit) - Maintain good relation with Profs( even if the prof is an ass, bite it inn, They could help you with attendance if you go for some event, y get to know internships and projects) - DONT maintain 100% attendance(80 to 90 is safe) - DONT be the topper(75 to 90% is wayyy sufficient) - spend first couple of years exploring and gaining skills - network with lots of ppl, on linkedin etc - Start building projects(even if its damn simple, and also projects on the subjects u learn at college) - Practice self learning, ull be faster and better than the class - the last two years should be spent on internships and projects - Try to publish some papers Edit: - attend all the events the college organises, DONT FORGET TO MAKE MEMORIES - most importantly, have fun! :) These were like the things I wish someone told me. PS: its fine if you are not IITn

Learn, Unlearn & Relearn.
We must aim to get to the level of conscious competence.
Literary i am amazed by the UA-cam algorithm.this is what i actually i am seeking for.
Thank you for this, will definitely remember the things while going through that phase.

Exactly!
He was also Man of the tournament in 2014 T20 World Cup

It's a great learning experience we all are getting from your experience
I think we can probably call it a culmination. When we think, we have learnt across the skill and at this point of time. We tend to lose out
loved it, this was exactly what I needed at this point of time. Beautifully explained

join college for the network , not for skills
@@AdityaBansalyt networking can be done without colleges thanks to the internet
