This movie is perfection. The story, the plot, the insane atmosphere, the cast, the sound, the villains, the heros, the love, the action.....10 out of fucking 10. One of the best movies ever created.
👍
Yupp. I was shocked back then. This movie is timeless, even with those banana-cellphones.
@@djrek521 the idea for The Matrix film was stolen? I heard about that. Wasn't it some woman who wrote books or something that they got the idea from? I really couldn't tell if the story about her was legit or b.s. but you're saying it did happen or are you referring to something else? 🤔

Matrix 1 was a cinematic achievement on par with Jurassic Park or LOTR. Audiences saw something they had never seen before. Looks good even 2 decades later.
90s movie audiences were spoiled with amazing blockbusters
No-one can be Neo like Keanu. He was born to play this role.
Almost every scene in this movie is legendary. One of the most influential and iconic movies ever made.

Till they made the new one 😅
@@Bart-Did-it The new one is a masterpiece, you are just viewing it wrong.
Here is what I said on it above previously:
Chill, it is lazy and pointless with intent. Why do you think it is so self deprecating and self aware? Lana did not want to make another Matrix movie, the choices were either she does it or they (warner bros) will get someone else, so, she did it her way, she did not give the sudiance what it wanted, she gave them enough member berries to keep them watching her middle finger to rich investors and marketing tossers. It is a film that never should have been made and all involved in it, know that. An exercise in pissing away 200 million dollars on the most forgettable film of 2021 and from the looks of things, everyone involved had good fun while doing so, after all, it's not their money.

It’s a bit 2000s / end of 90s now, but yeah, still very much original.. interesting how influenced by manga it is 🤔
real culture is when the matrix meant the move more than the movie
It kinda does though, the fighting is just badguys attacking once and then standing there motionless while the good guy takes seconds to kick them in the face. If somebody grabs your arm, you pull it back, that;s how it is, you don't then just stand there for a second to get clobbered...
"I had a role in the matrix!"
"Oh really, what did you play?"
"Well they stuck a fake knife to my forehead and I had to fall over backwards."
I'd still do it :)
Not a bad start

there is a beginning at everything. Bruce Willis has a role where he crossed the way of Franck Sinatra...and that was it

I remember when this movie came out in 1999. It was no words to describe the story, script, the scenes, fx, post-production work. It blew everyone's mind back then. More than twenty years have passed and the film still amaze me. This motion picture was built to last and stand the test of time.
hombrealadoo it’s a documentary!
Sadly the sequels ruined the story overall, personally I still love all three films, 4th one was just odd to say the least
@@johnchief270 the ending sucked they should leave the timeless pieces alone to be timeless
Yeah I liked how Trinity was such a strong female character too saved him several times not just a damsel in distress.
nokia though :(
I forgot how much I loved Carrie Anne's Trinity.
She's a bad ass without being a horrible gobby feminist
Michelle Yeoh would have likely been better. Carrie Anne acted fine but looked 10 years too old and her looks were too average for the part. An Asian woman would have fit with the fight action better. Despite actually being older, Michelle Yeoh would have looked younger than Carrie Anne.
@@IARRCSim what? that was one of the bad ass performances of all time!..what does being asian have to do with anything? u r a clown..
@@dubiousdistinction6500 you're giving too much credit. Other actresses like Michelle Yeoh would have done the role just fine. Of the sexes, men are more often in fighting roles. Of the races, Asians are more often in the fighting roles. Keanu Reeves has a little native Hawaiian and Chinese blood which makes him part Asian. That's great. An Asian female partner would have been a better fit. Carrie Ann also looked below average so it was hard to relate to Neo's attraction to her or think he accomplished much by hooking up with her. It looked like he got desperate because she was almost the last woman on Earth.
If you like her, that's fine but if any mistake was made in the Matrix, it was casting Carrie Anne. It is also fine if you can't argue with reason and need to resort to petty name calling. It just shows how shallow your thoughts are.
@@IARRCSim a) who is michelle yeoh? b) who cares? c) who are you iaarrcsim? d) who cares?.."how shallow my thoughts are"? ummm, einstein, i didnt send u a thought, i sent u a written reply...do u know the difference? apparently not..u r still a clown and also a racist since your entire being seems to be hung up on this asian thing, so just go away and watch some k-pop..
I was 18 when I saw this movie. I went into it not knowing a single thing about it.

Back when Warner Bros dared to bring new material to the screen.
@Maja DeBij they're still normal, just changed genders.
WB still bring new material to the screen -> Christopher Nolans Tenet 2020
@Jacob McMahan well Lana Watchowski in particular was very suicidal for many years due to not being happy as a male. You can't force someone to be a certain way just because society tells them to, they're both happy now as women and that doesn't make them freaks, they're still normal and still the same people, just changed genders and now they're happy and no one should stop them from being happy.
Yeah, nowadays Warner Bros only gives us crap like The Dark Knight, Creed, Mad Max Fury Road, Blade Runner 2049, The Town, Inception and Joker.

after seeing the new shit I can only cry lol
agreed...so damn depressing.
I remember seeing this in the cinema and I was absolutely blown away, the best cinema experience I ever had.
How did the other people in the Cinema react?
@@migalorsdarwin1930 i saw it in NYC. a lady brought her toddler who freaked out when neo's mouth closed. honestly 50% of people stayed to see it 2 times in a row. we did! it was that good!
I went into the theater to watch this completely blind, knowing nothing about it. It definitely blew my mind, and the surprise of it was delightful!
Alex Evans I still keep my tickets i watched it with my eldest brothers bro gang it was awesome
I was only 8 when this movie came out, but I remember my dad coming home with the VHS tape he got from his friend at work. Changed my life and is my favourite film to this day. I got to see it in cinemas last year for its 20th anniversary, as it was something I've wanted to do for a long time now. It's 100x better when it's on the big screen 😊
When originality ruled in Hollywood. Days long gone unfortunately.
In fairness, there's still a lot of originality in Hollywood. Ex Machina, Arrival, Under the Skin, The Lobster, Get Out, The Fountain, It Follows. There's lots to choose from.
V star: Days are long because you are long gone yourself without realizing it.
When the Wachowski brothers weren't freaks.
Originality is only lost in the marketing. Tentpole event movies rule the box office and that's all most movie goers will ever go to see. But there are more original movies made today than ever. This year's Oscars line up is filled with them, for one thing. I can only see one complaining about lost originality if they gave up looking for it.
Now everything is a comic book adaption or remake 🤦♂️
More than 20 years later with so much more technical opportunities Matrix 4 not even compareable

@@quazar912 It's okay to be incorrect.
This movie has changed cinema direction forever. And will always be one of my favorite movies of all time.
This movie was so ahead of its time its insane
This movie changed how we all saw and used cgi forever.

The movie was EXACTLY of its Time🤨😉
John Powell changes how we used cgi? How about changed how we saw the world?
Timeless, Matrix is one of the best visions of our world and our human capacities to create and work with machines.
True, who would have thought 20 years ago that there would be thousands of people thinking we live on a cgi globe earth 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Watching Trinity again was the sexiest thing ever. Stunning in that black outfit
не надо пиздеть. В те года Памела была в топе.
I've recently watched the first matrix on big screen at the IMAX cinema. I was blown away even though I've watched this movie before. I bought one more ticket to experience it once more in a couple of days. And this movie is more than 20 years old. I cannot imagine how people felt when they saw it in theatres back in 1999
It was mind boggling and forever changed the game in terms of directing action scenes. But the element really placing Matrix above the competition even nowadays was the overall aesthetics and unique style which will forever set it apart
I saw it 3 times in the movie theatre as a kid. But my English was just developing, so some bits felt a bit slow back then... Interestingly I was mostly into the sound, since there was no streaming back then and Soundtracks were often delayed. I got the soundtrack 6 months later (I'm not into piracy, but keep in mind Napster had just started in 1999).
The same year again I had to grab 3 tickets in a row - for Fight Club. A period of critical awakening, spirit of the age. Freeze time, cool music. And rough time for my miniscule budget.
The generation that just missed out on star wars in the cinemas but saw it on vhs, we were in our late teens and this was our Star Wars.. The music, themes, look all hit the zeitgeist of the time for anyone under 25
Just saw the enormous turd that is Resurrections.
One thing, amongst many, it doesn't have which is clearly on display in this clip is the sound FX. The Matrix was a feast for the ears as well as the eyes. Every bone shattering kick, every crash through walls, the roar of that M16 on the rooftop. Just immense.
Omg ikr
Resurrections was one of the worst movies i have seen
@@Don-pk2uy There's a French movie called "The Mustache", it's about a guy who cut is mustache and go on an existential crisis. The goal of it was to make a movie about nothing, where nothing happen, so much so that even the actors weren't briefed before they played the scene cause "there was nothing to say". The main actor was interviewed after the movie released to "sell the film" but didn't actually knew what to say.... Well... I promise that I keep a better souvenir of my viewing of "The Mustache" that I have of whatever was Matrix 4.

the perfect balance between cgi and live action
I guess I understand why this movie aged so well; 70-80% of all effects are practical. For a film about virtual worlds it sure used a lot of RL technology.
Keep in mind that CGI was only in major movies for about six years at that point, since Jurassic Park in 93. It was very smart to keep it to a minimum.
@@rsolsjo Exactly.
@@rsolsjo No Terminator 2 in 1991 actually
@@vizuz Yeah that was a major one too. Actually The Abyss before that. But I still think Jurassic Park was the movie that made Hollywood really sit up and think "ok, we can legitimately use this as a tool from now on".
@@vizuz even that was still a very practical movie
The new movie doesn't have that awe inspiring 'magic' to it. It feels empty and soulless.
Yeah they definitely got lazy with Resurrections unfortunately.
It was also thoroughly pointless.

Удивительно то на сколько тщательно они делали все съемки. Мне кажется в современном кино уже никто такого не делает, все рассчитывают на то что если что то пойдет не так то дорисуют на компьютере если что .
The only Movie where Everything is Perfect. From the storyline, casting , graphics all the way to the action.
I think that the secret ingredient that you didn't mention & that metters a lot - is the Philosophie. Wachowski brothers did a good job finding great visual metafors for delivering a set of important messages about the true nature of the modern consumer society, it's policy & the good-old Buddha's revelation about the sleeping-like condition of mind of manhood.
