Here is what I said on it above previously:
Chill, it is lazy and pointless with intent. Why do you think it is so self deprecating and self aware? Lana did not want to make another Matrix movie, the choices were either she does it or they (warner bros) will get someone else, so, she did it her way, she did not give the sudiance what it wanted, she gave them enough member berries to keep them watching her middle finger to rich investors and marketing tossers. It is a film that never should have been made and all involved in it, know that. An exercise in pissing away 200 million dollars on the most forgettable film of 2021 and from the looks of things, everyone involved had good fun while doing so, after all, it's not their money.

Michelle Yeoh would have likely been better. Carrie Anne acted fine but looked 10 years too old and her looks were too average for the part. An Asian woman would have fit with the fight action better. Despite actually being older, Michelle Yeoh would have looked younger than Carrie Anne.

@@dubiousdistinction6500 you're giving too much credit. Other actresses like Michelle Yeoh would have done the role just fine. Of the sexes, men are more often in fighting roles. Of the races, Asians are more often in the fighting roles. Keanu Reeves has a little native Hawaiian and Chinese blood which makes him part Asian. That's great. An Asian female partner would have been a better fit. Carrie Ann also looked below average so it was hard to relate to Neo's attraction to her or think he accomplished much by hooking up with her. It looked like he got desperate because she was almost the last woman on Earth.
If you like her, that's fine but if any mistake was made in the Matrix, it was casting Carrie Anne. It is also fine if you can't argue with reason and need to resort to petty name calling. It just shows how shallow your thoughts are.

Back in day me and my GF went in to originally see some other movie. Unfortunately, it was sold out. And since the drive to the cinema was 30 min out and we didn't want to feel this was a wasted trip, we chose this movie instead, not knowing what to expect and chosen entirely from the look of the poster.
Best damn money ever spent. We were totally blown away and even started debating the whole idea of "what if we're actually unknowingly living in a simulation?" How do we know for sure?
