It is our HK martial art director 袁和平 Yuen Woo Ping who designed all actions and said 1.2.3 in cantonese. Ya e san! I am so proud ! And Mr.Yuen promoted Chinese Kungfu to the world through this film! This film also combines oriental and occidental philosophy sych as zen buddhism, it is an absolute masterpiece. Love it!!
Especially to Keanu, as he was recovering from a spinal fusion surgery while being trained in pre-production. Which is partially why some of his moves in the movie make him look like he had a stiff back.
0:45 i believe that is chad stahelski doing that flip, since we dont see his face i cant confirm but i dont think keanu can do that (for those wondering chad is the director of the john wick series, he was keanus stunt double in this movie)
I think Keanu did a few takes at least. He had to do the shot where you see him hit the ground. I've gone through these BTS features before, and the one thing all of the Coaches say about Keanu is that he's "incredibly determined".
@Jul W I made this comment a year ago. I have long forgotten to what moment specifically I'm referring to. But generally, any time you can see Keanu's face in a stunt, that's Keanu doing a stunt. QED.
Yes it's not as fast as it appears in the editing. They were beginners in reality and have to do their choreography right as taught by their trainors and choreographers.
@@zellove7563 except for one of the behind the scenes where they said it was all 100% real in terms of the non wired hand to hand fighting. So either this was practice, and they did not show us the real thing until the movie, or the editing sped them up. HmMMMMmmm
It's really cool, that the actors were really teaching the kung-fu! This is one of the reasons, the fight scenes looked so incredible!

Great man! Stunning.
His work in Kill Bill was also BRILLIANT.
There is no need to introduce Woo Ping, his is legendary in the west, too.
Wo ping did an excellent job teaching Keanu and Lawrence all the correct moves on this film The Matrix. Well done Wo ping.
Fun fact: the wires were just there to hide the fact that Keanu and Laurence can break the laws of physics with anime-like abilities
i think you might be onto something
You dont say.
(Nicolas Cage face intensity)
You're trying to deceive me.
Maybe, or maybe not
Watching the behind the scenes is as magical as watching the matrix. What a beautiful movie.
They actually learn some real Moves and skills filming this 🔥🤙
Look at that speed, that's no fast forward :o
Matrix 1.. still my favorite film. Just stunning!
BRAVO to both Keanu and Lawrence for putting the work in! Both of you guys made a absolutely fantastic fight scene 💪💪💪👏👏👏😁

I broke my neck from tryna run up a wall like neo. still love this movie
Keanu was 35 when he first incarnated Neo in 1999.
Woah...
34 actually, yet he seemed to be a decade younger
lol them training in an arm cast and neck brace. They went hardcore
The matrix is such a timeless classic, killer reeves is a legend YOU CANT CONTROL ME
Wow,with all the hard training from Wo Ping. He is the great trainer for both actors.

Yat! Yi! Saam!
Caraca os dois lutaram de verdade, fizeram todos os moves e golpes. Eles se entregaram mesmo ao filme.
juen woo ping is a real master of drunken fist :D
What an incredible experience it must have been, a lot of this was cutting edge. Really sad Resurrections is nothing like the rest of the series.
Love this!
Excellent.
were the actors actually just fighting slowly, and they sped it up in editing?
