Soldiers from the Black Watch 3rd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, 3 Scots, marching through Dundee. More than 400 soldiers, including Territorials from 7 Scots, took part in the parade led by the Black Watch Pipe Band. The troops had recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Proud to be a third generation American Scot. As a Viet Nam 173 Airborne Vet, I am proud to carry on my great grandfathers legacy of serving in an Army protecting good and God fearing people. I just wish we Americans would pay homage in a parade of soldiers as you Scots! God bless and be safe!
thank you for your service as a Viet Nam 173 Airborne Vet
Why don't you, just set up a parade, these people put there life in the line, celebrate them.
Orange Trump tried and his own military told him to put it off til next year because it cost too much. Nonsense. He should've told them to stfu, strap it on and put together a good-sized parade, M-1s, fly-overs and the whole deal.
At this time of year its time to reflect and think, if you have a few minutes to spare, Watch a wee vid 'the poppy girls',
its in the blood sir

My dad was Army many years ago and watched the Black watch clear streets in Berlin by fighting. He rembers the bars they had of bales of straw as they would fight amongst eachother - Black watch was something you did not take lightly!

I'm proud from over in the colonies, though I'm 288 years removed from when my "Ulster Scot" relative departed Antrim in a religious settlement, landing in Delaware in 1730! I love my great aunt for putting that work into our family history book.
One of the best units ever
American, but the I appreciate the pageantry, tradition, and customs of the various military of the U.K. They have a proud strut. I've never been in the military, but watching them made me want to jump out and join them like that man at .21 My guess he is a veteran. A fine group of young men/women on display, and proud to call them allies.
thank you for your comment, Guy
I am an American who is very glad they are our allies.
We were lucky enough to be there that day truly amazing to see. Proud beyond belief thank each and everyone of those serving.
thank you for viewing my video and your comment, Senga
I'm American, but I'm of Scottish descent through the 3rd Earl of Bute and Argyll. Ever since I was a child, when I hear the pipes, my heart leaps and my eyes well up with tears.
I can understand those feelings
Especially when I hear the "Black Bear."
As a U.S Army Veteran, these guys have my fucking salute.

thank you for your comment, Peter
good to see so many polynesian and black lads serving in our armed forces
^^^ because most of them are not interested
All from either trinidad or fiji, british ethnics from my experience (9 years) is they are not interested.
Fijians are actually Melanesian if you want to be picky. But yes, plenty of Fijians serving .
Im glad that they are actually british not just living here.
UUUUUUmmmm, you said BLACK! Isn't it supposed to be Melanesian Scottish? Fijian British? I never got that politically correct bullshit.
If I was a black man who was born and raised in America, never even seen Africa, and someone called me African American, I'd be pretty pissed off. Being politically correct today is, in turn, being offensive,
Sadly, a public parade of troops coming home from overseas service would be impossible in Germany. Glory, and envy, to Scotland.
Singing Erika
hopefully Germany will become a proud nation again before it's too late. We need a strong Germany in Europe.
If the troops of present-day Germany are dedicated to the preservation of democracy in Germany then they should parade...that is my opinion as a canadian whose family fought the Nazis.
outrageous.
but they better man up and ditch that Frau who seems to be undermining her own country (seems a common trait among those Eurocrats). Where are the MEN in that country?? Is she as good as it gets there? I wish they'd start rectifying that mess and send those Syrians back lock, stock and barrel and end that suicidal foolishness...before that NEWLY ELECTED communist E. German Frau figures out a way to bring in another 1.1 million to descend upon the women of Germany. INsane.
Pride in Tradition and in excellence. Bravo!!
Well done lads. God bless you all for your service ❤
Thank you kindly
Love me Laddies and Squaddies in Parade !!!
Extraordinary respect gentlemen 🧩🇬🇧

Absolutely totally outstanding
thank you for viewing my video and your comment, Tommy
I love this also because of the diversity. It dosent matter what colour you are or where you originate from if you feel like a Scot then you are a fucking Scot!!! Beautiful!!!!!
thank you for viewing my video and your comment
but you can't escape the fact that all Scots were white; from white history and culture of those days long ago, Protestant Reformation; wars with England; wars alongside England(!); they present a certain culture. That culture will not continue if enough non-white Scots populate from far-flung islands with nothing in common, religion, history, looks, culture, etc. We are enjoying that obvious lesson in the colonies thanks to our politically correct, bilge spewing, lying leftists in this country since the 1960s. Culture and race is important, and you don't have to a "racist" to acknowledge the obvious fact.
Finest soldiers in the world comeing back safe and sound

The Black Watch was so terrifying and effective during the American revolution that a condition of the treaty was that the United States was to be informed if the Black Watch were ever deploy off of their home island.
Yeah. But because all British Regiments regarded the Colonists as there own,They don't carry battle honours of the conflict.
thank you for your comment

An ancestor of mine fought with the great unit the Blackwatch at Waterloo,
Am English and am proud to see the Black Watch on parade. The world being what it is today with the threat to us all from ISIS we can have no illusions about how it may end up. Our infantry may have to be deployed again in earnest. Up the infantry whether it is Scots, English, Welsh or Irish.
sweep the world Dam right mate.Thank God we have Regiments like this in the British Army.Look at them.Hard F***ers the lot of them.
Can you imagine being across a battlefield and hearing the pipes coming
Aye stirring music James
Saw the Black Watch in action in Korea...1952. Tough and determined.
thank you for viewing my video and your comment, Bud
My Uncle was Sergeant Richard Martin with the Black Watch in Korea and a few other places. He told me he had a braw time out there. He always enjoyed a fight and some adventure. Though his favourite moment was dancing with a young Princess Margaret at Edinburgh Castle (she liked a kilted man). He passed away some years ago, peacefully in the Black Watch retirement home near Dundee.
I didn't have the honor of fighting with the Black Watch men, but knew those that did. I watched as they paraded to the boats that took them home...I think it was the port of Pusan....I was a young Lt. of Marines and fighting the Chinese at the Chosin Reservoir. Late Winter, very cold, many men perished, but we held the Chinese for days then made our way back against 20:1 odds. As time went on I also had the pleasure of training with elements of the SAS in NATO maneuvers. Ended up in Vietnam (twice) and retired a Colonel. Never had the chance to visit Scotland...and for that I shall always be very unhappy. A beautiful Country with great traditions.
A fine career Mr Garr. If you can't visit us, then just enjoy some of the fine tunes. The march in this video is called the Atholl Highlanders, there are some bonnie marches in the Scottish and British regiments.
jadore cette musique et la culture de ce beaux pays vrament jaimerai visiter ce pays
