If I had caught you sooner I'd have suggested Corsa. I have that on my 92 and it sounds incredible. Deep growl. Not obnoxiously loud but you hear me coming. Maybe add headers. They'd definitely open up that exhaust sound.
I think it sounds pretty good, but can see what you mean. One suggestion would be to drop in a K&N with the filter mod. It will make it sound a bit deeper, before altering the cats. Enjoying tbe videos
I had this exhaust on my 96 LT4. From factory sounds deep but too quiet. Best mod I did to that exhaust was having a shop remove the resonator and add in an xpipe. Highly recommend that! Sounds so much better under acceleration
@@itsabouttime981 LOL!! I'm not Judging my Corvette Brother, but All Season tires on a Corvette is almost as bad as watching someone eat pizza with a knife and fork..🤣🤣
Not sure if you've fixed the cat issue however I have a suggestion that worked for me. Get the cats out(hollow or remove I removed mine completely) and pipe in where they were at. Make sure you keep the o2 sensor holes. Run down to the parts store and grab sparkplug non foulers. You will need 2 per o2 sensor. Take one and drill out the bottom(they are aluminum and easy to do) make sure you don't get into the threads. Screw the one you drilled out into the unmolested non fouler. Screw the two into the pipe and then your o2 sensor into that. Repeat on other side. This will restrict exhaust coming into the o2 sensor and trick it into thinking it still has the cats. Hope this helps.
Removing the cats may give you a better sound AND pay back some of the Borla cost, as cats cost a fortune. Myself, I would prefer to keep the cats and pass emissions, making the car marketable in all states. Another option might be exhaust cutouts. Good luck.
Have you done anything to it since to make it louder? I've got the same exact kit on mine, and I agree entirely on how quiet it is. Sounds amazing, but wasn't as loud as I thought it'd be.
No I haven’t had a chance to do anything to the car. I’ve been traveling for work a lot lately. All work trips were pushed to the end of the year bc of COVID so now they’re all at once instead of spread out 🤦🏼♂️.
Sure catalytic converters quiet it drastically but if you remove the resonator you can see how much sound deadening core is in there. Xpipe also adds more benefits to your exhaust
It's quieter than stock as you have got 5 mufflers including cats on the car now, delete or clean out the cats and remove centre muffler as system sounds best just with tail mufflers, same sound but louder.
Get rid of the pre cats, and put a hi performance cat in the middle. They sell a y pipe without precats or you can cut em out and weld on pipe in their place. The o2 sensor comes before your cats so it wont be affected
Remove the cats !!!!!! Took my 95 c4 to an exuast shop and he removed the cats !!! From headers back its straight piped !!! x pipe!! to flow master mufflers and it's super loud!!! Sounds so cool!!!! Only cost me 950 dollars!!! Its a waste of money to buy the over priced name brand systems.. just find a good shop and they will give u way better deal!!! Removing the cats is a must do ... and the car responded great !!! No issues at all after
If your state requires you to run cats for state inspection then keep them. I strongly suggest long tube headers! They are not just for racing, the benefits are many. Get either Stainless Works or American Racing both companies can set you up with high flow cats if you need them. If you don't need the cats get the off road pipes from who ever you get the long tubes from. Run cooper header gaskets and stainless steel bolts, you won't be sorry. Also don't judge the sound from inside the cabin while driving. Listen to the car outside from the back. Have someone drive the car down the road while you listen.
You gotta ditch the factory cats!!! It's a must! Insanely restrictive and ain't going to help much with HP and sound! Plus ditch the factory style resonator and put in an Xpipe system. Trust me I know!
Some Borla exhaust systems have a plate that opens up the flow and makes it nice and loud. I've read something about ability to access them upon the removal of exhaust tips. Here's a video with Lt-1 Trans Am that did it.ua-cam.com/video/sdONgid4Vsc/v-deo.html Not sure if it applies to your particular exhaust model, but worth trying. Great vid btw, keep doing a good job!
c4s are probably the quietest gen corvette there is imo, even with full muffler deletes they sound maybe as loud as a stock modern corvettes/camaros at best. probably has to do with the cats
I bought a C4 with a Borla. Yours is the first video thst sounds like mine. It's a little too quiet for my taste. Needs to be a little louder. I'm going to go 383 stroker. Hoping it will get louder and deeper. I don't like most V8 exhaust sounds. Many are too high-pitched and crackly for my taste.
@@itsabouttime981 Have you made any changes to your setup? I want to build a mild 383 stoker. Nothing crazy. Only upgrade things that are needed. As funny as this might sound, I want it to sound as close to a Foxbody Mustang. Thst deep bassy exhaust note.
@itsabouttime981 Just curious if you did any updates to it. I changed the rear brakes on my Corvette today and started searching for exhaust clips again. 😂
Is it loud enough ??? If you ask 100 different people youll get 100 different answers. The question is , is it loud enough for you. Lose the resonator.

Ya i doubt that will do anything
I have long tubes on my 96 and used o2 sims for driver and passenger side secondary o2
I had this exhaust on my 96 LT4. From factory sounds deep but too quiet. Best mod I did to that exhaust was having a shop remove the resonator and add in an xpipe. Highly recommend that! Sounds so much better under acceleration
Did you ever get rid of the cats ?
What's the part number on the mufflers?
Borla 14385
@@itsabouttime981 Thanks.
Did you ever gut or delete the catalytic converter? If so lets hear how it sounds now.
Do you have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on your Corvette?
Yes I do
@@itsabouttime981 Why? It's a Corvette you don't drive it in the snow do you?
They were on it when I bought it judgy mcjudgerson.

Hahaha I’ll keep that in mind when these wear out. I’m in Florida so definitely no snow!

You can delete the cats on 92 and under and you wont get a light or anything.
@@alexl9334 good to know
Wow.. love it. What RPM are you going up to when you really are cranking it there?
Around 6k I think, but not entirely sure
So what did you do with the factory exhaust?
Removing the cats may give you a better sound AND pay back some of the Borla cost, as cats cost a fortune. Myself, I would prefer to keep the cats and pass emissions, making the car marketable in all states. Another option might be exhaust cutouts. Good luck.
I did mine straight piped, no kittens and borla atak. Its loud when it wants to be

What I want to know is, who's driving?
When you use the front camera, it reverses the picture. It’s like looking into a mirror.
Is that a left hand drive vette?
I’m using the screen facing camera so it turns the image like a mirror. Would be super neat if it were left hand drive tho!! Thanks for watching.
If this is a pre95 vette, you can remove cats without any issues. No check engine light. But you will fail emissions
Interesting. Thanks!
I think after a certain amount of years they dont smog right?
Sure catalytic converters quiet it drastically but if you remove the resonator you can see how much sound deadening core is in there. Xpipe also adds more benefits to your exhaust
I put rumblers made from magnaflow and give it a deep sound
It's quieter than stock as you have got 5 mufflers including cats on the car now, delete or clean out the cats and remove centre muffler as system sounds best just with tail mufflers, same sound but louder.
Does it drone at all?
I haven’t driven it a long distance so I cannot say definitive yet, but for the short time I drove it, it did not drone at all. No resonator.
👍
I have all of my catalytic converters *cut off* and FLOWMASTER super 40's and my 1986 C4 SOUNDS *fantastic!!* Cut the CATS OFF!!
Get rid of the pre cats, and put a hi performance cat in the middle. They sell a y pipe without precats or you can cut em out and weld on pipe in their place. The o2 sensor comes before your cats so it wont be affected
Headers along with deleting the precats is the best bet.

Lose the mufflers and get your louder sound that’s what I did and love it

Borla is the best!!!! Don’t wast your time with anything else!
Ditching the cats won’t effect the computer. Get long tube headers.
Also lost the resonated and put in x pipe

Nah, go Flowmaster!
O2's are pre cat, shouldn't matter. Wish I didn't live in kommiefornia, or i'd remove em entirely.. :(
You can always pay under water to get smog passed

muffler delete perfect sound and cheap lol
$1400.00 its not that much difference compared to stock not worth $1400 for me

100%. That’s why I included a video of the exhaust in the video so everyone can decide for themselves.
Remove that stupid useless resonator. It'll sound better without drone.
You needed to speak to a professional man.
