We Got The Windows Tinted - 1992 C4 Corvette

I searched for places to get my windows tinted after I found out the guy I usually use had surgery and isn't tinting right now. After calling several different places and each of them telling me the C4 was too hard, I came across All Pro Tinting and I couldn't be happier with the job they did. Very professional and very knowledgeable about the process. I sure hate I wasn't able to video the his...

The Shure MV88 microphone... What's in the box??
Thank you! Just started to update my laundry room and this video saved my sanity of getting these things off!!
Thank you.
I have long tubes on my 96 and used o2 sims for driver and passenger side secondary o2
Here's advice you won't hear from all the amateur exhaust guru's. I've been studying exhaust physics for years at a higher level than the "regular exhaust mfgs" know about, but won't implement in their exhausts for some reason. This is technology from F1 race cars that goes way back, & has been adapted to race cars from NASCAR & other race circuits. Read up on "Anti Reversion Muffler or Resonators" or anti reversion headers or stepped headers. Endyne headers is the leader in this technology, but the next best thing is to remove the CATS, & install Anti Reversion Resonators in place of the CATS. . Stepped tube headers like Endyne's have been cutting edge technology for 30yrs, but a race header is a few thousands! See: Anti Reversion Muffler by ProFabrication in N.C. They build exhausts for the race track cars! Or, you can always make your own as long as you keep the correct shape. make your own: AKA anti reversion muffler, like Dynatech, Schoenfeld headers. Now if you really want to go deep down the rabbit hole, look up the very famous performance auto enginner "David Vizard Zero Loss Exhaust" that hit all the magazines 25yrs ago that he engineered an exhaust for an LT1 Vette. His technology surrounds the same concept of an Anti-Reversion center resonator, but is hollowed out & precisely designed. He calls it "Pressure Wave Termination Box - by David Vizard" . His exhaust arrangement used a muffler he specifically designed & patented many years ago in the 80's & sold it to Cyclone Sonic Turbo Mufflers & it was rebranded a few times as exhaust companies were bought out....Walker Dynomax picked up on his muffler design, but changed it slightly to avoid patent violation, but these mufflers were designed for ultimate flow & quietness. There is tons to read about exhaust theory by David Vizard. See his UA-cam vids on exhaust. "How to build a zero power loss street leagle Ex. system" You will definitely get a unique & louder Euro sporty exhaust tone by eliminating the CATS, & use simple anti reversion resonators. (my theory) . If you still want more sound, go with an H pipe "before" the CATS like Vizard recommends & also install simple separate straight thru stainless resonators (try different lengths) either by Borla, or Magnaflow. There are many types out there with perforated cores vs. louvered cores. Is your BORLA center resonator straight thru, or does it have some unique baffling or chambers? I may write to BORLA & ask. Even if its straight thru, thats a long muffler which does a lot of sound suppression! I recognize that blurred license plate! I'm in the meaner & nastier part of the state in SoFlo!
Also see write up : David Vizard's Pressure Wave Terminator Box?? and Anti Reversion? - on Ecomodder forum. Or YT Vid: Pressure Wave Termination Box on a 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP
Did you ever get rid of the cats ?
Remove that stupid useless resonator. It'll sound better without drone.
I have a right rear squeaky noise coming from the brake. I did what you did except the cleaning. Couldn’t see any worn spots where things were rubbing. Put it back together, went for a drive. No squeaking noise for two blocks. Then the noise came back. 😢 The trouble shooting continues. 😂
Head lights need new gears and bushings. I did mine a year ago myself. I put bronze gears in. Also under hood lights might be un plugged or fuse out fuse panel on right side passenger door. Or the lights just need replacing.
Love your content. Tinting looks good. I have 1992 white with red interior. I just changed out my stock factory saw blade rims for chrome ZR1 17x9.5 rims they really make the car. You might take a look at OEWheels.
omg i have a 95 and had mine done in 1 piece i would never have it done in 3 pieces....thats ridiculous
Where was this done?
How did you trim out the trusses when closing in the sides?
You just measure and cut a rectangle out of the metal in the right place. Mine is under the leanto so I didn’t have to trim it for waterproofing.
How did you trim out the trusses when closing in the sides?
Looks great and I’m starting to enclose mine here in Gainesville Fl. On your bottom pressure treated board for your wall is that house wrap you out on it?
It’s what they call rat guard. It’s metal like the siding. The sides go flush against it and it blocks the hole off from a mouse being able to come in.
I drilled through the fleshy wing area between my thumb and forefinger. Fortunately I was able to self administer first aid. Horrible place to keep bandages on. Accidents happen. That's why there called accidents. 😉
Y do it says cool on and fan on
Looks good. It's too bad you lost the factory Corvette decal that was on the driver's side of the hatch.
You gotta ditch the factory cats!!! It's a must! Insanely restrictive and ain't going to help much with HP and sound! Plus ditch the factory style resonator and put in an Xpipe system. Trust me I know!
How is it held up after a couple years of use?
Some brake pad are cheap material
Just a quick question. But I was thinking that maybe you had cold solder joints when you replaced the caps. They were soldered in, but didn't make perfect connections at the joints. It would have only needed one bad joint to make the whole board not work.
Thank you for the video, I will be installing mine as well .
I bought a C4 with a Borla. Yours is the first video thst sounds like mine. It's a little too quiet for my taste. Needs to be a little louder. I'm going to go 383 stroker. Hoping it will get louder and deeper. I don't like most V8 exhaust sounds. Many are too high-pitched and crackly for my taste.
Agree completely!! Too high and crackly. I like the low rumble.
@@itsabouttime981 Have you made any changes to your setup? I want to build a mild 383 stoker. Nothing crazy. Only upgrade things that are needed. As funny as this might sound, I want it to sound as close to a Foxbody Mustang. Thst deep bassy exhaust note.
I haven’t done anything else yet. I have a couple car projects in the waiting, but I have several around home projects that have taken precedent.
@itsabouttime981 Just curious if you did any updates to it. I changed the rear brakes on my Corvette today and started searching for exhaust clips again. 😂
Seems strange that all amplifiers would die at the same time
I’m sure they went bad one at a time. But they were all bad by the time I got the car.
Did it ever come back?
Nope
Love your shop. I’ll be doing everything but concrete. I have a 40 x60 just got materials. Thankyou for these videos Do you remember what your garage door openings were
Thank you very much. My openings were 12x12. Looking back, I wish I had done 2/12 pitch and increased the Eve height to allow for 14’ doors. I have limited myself in what I can park inside. We want a 5th wheel camper to replace our bumper pull but a 5th wheel won’t fit in a 12’ door.
Thanks for sharing you build. How did you seal the top of the East wall? I heard you mention trim in one video for the top but did you use J trim for that or something else?
I just put normal even trim on it. It fits under the roof tin and on the outside of the wall tin.
Sure catalytic converters quiet it drastically but if you remove the resonator you can see how much sound deadening core is in there. Xpipe also adds more benefits to your exhaust
I had this exhaust on my 96 LT4. From factory sounds deep but too quiet. Best mod I did to that exhaust was having a shop remove the resonator and add in an xpipe. Highly recommend that! Sounds so much better under acceleration
Did you ever gut or delete the catalytic converter? If so lets hear how it sounds now.
how do you turn on this garbage, cant find that any ware unreal
If it is wired correctly, it will automatically illuminate and turn on unless there’s an issue with your unit.
It's quieter than stock as you have got 5 mufflers including cats on the car now, delete or clean out the cats and remove centre muffler as system sounds best just with tail mufflers, same sound but louder.
that"s awesome I just ordered my new thermal imager, $3000, cant wait to use it on my c4
LOL
Hey man I’m building a shop and my posts/concrete is going to be just like yours. I’m trying to figure out how to do the base trim. What are the dimensions on your base trim? Mainly the bottom “kickout” part the tin sits on. Also. Did you use treated 2x4’s for the bottom girt board on top of the base trim?
The bottom trim “rat guard” was a custom size. I used actual 2x4 boards cut at a local sawmil so I needed a little wider and a little taller to reach the edge of the outer ridge and the top of a raised 2x4 (explained in last sentence). I did not use a treated board at the bottom. Instead, I raised the bottom 2x4 where it wouldn’t be touching anything that would hold water.
Would it be rude on asking what you gave for her?
The girl or the car? 😂🤷🏼♂️
@@itsabouttime981 the car, I got a lady that I can't afford now.. Just have two 92 c4 in my area. One a coupe other a convertible. Both around 75k miles.
@@xarrow81 I bought this one from my wife’s uncle at a deep family discount. He basically just wanted her to have it.
I have this thermostat connected to my Wi-Fi. Any time we have a power outage, the clock messes up. How do I correct the time?
After programming, it's there a way to change to a basic manual mode to stop the program, use the up/ down button to the temperature i want, then turn the program back on when I'm done and want to go back to the program?
I ❤ my 90 triple black convertible like them all it has the over the years problems easy fixes it only has 92k i paid 3k for it so any fix is worth it there all diamonds in the rough lol!
So where did you get a tint and what name of the business and where
Who did you get your doors from everyone I’ve talked too wants 6k per door for 14x14
There’s a local company here. They’re 12x12. I started this project before everything went nuts. I ordered the doors at that time and just had them sitting around until I got ready for them. The place I bought them from said they had doubled in price between the time I got my doors to the time I was ready to install them. I’m sure glad I didn’t wait!
its QUIETER lol put FLOW MASTERS on that BIOTCH my 1990 has them and one can hear it coming ROCKIN the block
I just subscribed. Good videos. Did they require engineering for the permits and if so, do you know what the wind rating is? Im looking at building one.
We are required to have 140mph wind rating. I hired a structural engineer to draw plans and had the trusses made according to those plans. Then, I overbuilt what the engineer called for because I don’t want to be picking a building out of my neighbors yard after a hurricane. Haha
@@itsabouttime981 that’s kinda what I’m thinking. I live in an open area of coastal Virginia. The wind is brutal on a normal winter day, it’s devastating during a storm. In the big picture it’s not that much more to build it the right the first time.
Do you have issues with the roof dripping condensation, after freezing nights?
I sure did. Never again will I have exposed metal on the interior.
We don’t have many freezing where I am in Florida. But I haven’t had any condensation dripping inside… yet 🤞🏼
I have used one for years, what I do find it helps with is venting heat, not much more.
I also have a C4, and live in FL. Windows aren’t tinted at all, and will have it done very soon. In FL I read 15% is legal on the back window, but the front side windows are supposed to be no darker than 28% which I really hate the idea of. Do you have any trouble getting pulled over?
I haven’t had any trouble at all. But there isn’t much enforcement in Northwest Florida unless you’re acting like a jack wagon and they just need something to write up.
Nah, go Flowmaster!
I did mine straight piped, no kittens and borla atak. Its loud when it wants to be
Notice the very end of her hair don’t blow around like crazy when the top is down and they have the spacer installed and the windows down compared to all the same but without the spacer you can actually see it
Dude... it is a 30 y/o car. It runs great and you're acting like a Karen SERIOUSLY!!
I just purchased my first Corvette 1993 with 69,001 miles, the car is still in beautiful condition, original paint (artic white) black leather interior, always garaged. I also own a 1995 Z28 Camaro and it's white to They look like big brother and little brother hanging out together.
