His life with the exile, and his subsequent death, were beautiful pieces of story telling where we see one man struggling with the sins of the past and before finally overcoming them and dying content in the knowledge that he is not evil, but good. One who helps, rather than destroys. A true hero, a true Jedi.
Ah, once more we go to Knights of the Old Republic’s 2 a game that made us question everything about the Force, the Jedi, the Sith, and both the Dark Side and Light Side, and showing to us that the Jedi are more than their Code and powers, but the ability to connect themselves and others through their compassion and love.

Damn good redemption story. Not sure of his characterization. While the weapon he created did kill millions, and he made it with hatred intent, but the weapon was used in a battle, on orders of a legal commander, it sounds as if no civilians were killed, and the weapon was simply more powerful than expected. Bao Dur, I'm sure, would accuse himself as being a genocidal murderer but I don't think he fits that definition. I do love his regret of what happened, and think it shows what kind of Jedi, and man, he was. Another great story that fans would love and so the Rat won't ever attempt to bring to the big or small screens.
Kinda wish you'd added in that Darth Nihilus was created on Malachor V because of the mass shadow generator, but aside from that, top quality video my man!!

Can you do a video commenting on how Dave Filoni developed the Jedi in clone wars as an institution that made big mistakes and if that deviated from what George Lucas developed the jedi to symbolically represent in history? Do you think this "subversion" ended up working and giving the story the depth it needed? Do you think that George Lucas already raised this question, but didn't develop it in the story of the Prequels because that wasn't the focus of the plot?
The whole plot of prequels is that the Jedi failed themselves by not listening to Qui-Gon on both the return of the Sith AND training Anakin as a Jedi. Had they listened Qui-Gon would have gotten the aid he needed on Naboo, and Anakin would have had a Jedi Master who actually understood how to deal with his unique circumstances as a Jedi. It's not that it's under developed, it's all there in the Duel of the Fates, it's that people tended to disregard Qui-Gon as a character because they hated the fact that Yoda wasn't Obi-Wan's direct teacher. Obi-Wan only said he was instructed by Yoda, not that he was his formal Jedi Master. Yoda taught younglings and guided Obi-Wan on his path to Knighthood. The Council simply did not support or trust Anakin, and because they never did he simply never belonged, even when given a seat on it. They had the messiah of the Jedi and they handed him over to the devil through negligence and arrogance. It's all there in the prequels based on their actions and how they visibly treat Anakin.

Malachor V had been a dark side nexus before, that's why the Trayus academy of the True Sith had been built there in the first place. Both amplified each other: The dark side nexus which already existed before on one hand and the taint of what happened at the Trayus academy on the other hand. It had been a cursed world even the Mandolorians considered it taboo. Revan didn't choose it by accident for the final battle of the Mandalorian wars. He used it to get rid of the Mandos and eventual opposition in his own ranks. The battle of Malachor V, particularly the mass shadow generator, turned the already cursed world into a wound of the Force... one that didn't heal on its own...
I actually wondered if there was a story about someone Jedi Order to have a new start. And I guess this could technically be one. I kinda need more stories about someone with a terrible history, like living in an impoverished community and suffered some kind of exploitation or abuse, and deciding to join the Order to turn a new leaf and help people like himself.
Was this weapon something SO badly needed that someone so bad, least at first, was turned a blind eye to..? Sounds like a walking cautionary tale from what heard later from the start of the video. Least he came around and cleaned up his mess in the very end. Even if an army and navy both got on his way to do it
