Cajuns are white and Creoles are Black islanders who were brought here sadly by slavery. I am a Cajun. I am proud to be a Cajun and I live in Louisiane. I have never met a Black Cajun and black Creoles normally do not mix with with each other. Creoles normally like Creoles and Cajuns like Cajuns. We are friends, but we dont normally like to mate with each other.

You're trying to claim a cuisine your ancestors didn't create solely by themselves or even most of it. Southern food is a multiracial cuisine with influences from Whites, Native Americans and blacks. Soul food is a made up word from the civili rights era 1960's during black empowerment era to claim the multicultural southern food as a monocultural cuisine for black people living outside of the south (since no one in the north was cooking that except for blacks who originate from the south). It's a false word designed to take all the credit for a cuisine they didn't create most of. Southern food is made up of three origins, not one or mostly one.
I was waiting to see the reaction for the sweet potato pie. 🤷🏽♀️ That’s a soul food must! The strawberry/chocolate crumble looked “aight” but that was not soul food. Y’all needed: pound cake, sock it to me cake, sweet potato pie, coconut cake, Buttermilk pie, a real red velvet cake, banana pudding, pineapple upside down cake, mud cake, lane cake, chess pie, vinegar pie and carrot cake. Then there’s BBQ aka cookout soul food, potato salad throw down. I’ve been a fan since 2012, hoping you expand the soul food reach, there’s a lot more for you to try.
Seriously I was looking for the hidden gem spots in Washington. Thank you Fungbros!!!!!!! I really love you guys are supporting the local businesses and also recommending the goods.
I live in Kent and tried their chicken wings with mac and cheese and potato salad. They were all good, but potato salad was the bomb! im gonna get two potato salad next time & gonna get the shrimp. Overall $20 for the entire food, worth it! I also like Ezells chicken but Popeyes still my choice though lol.

I can’t believe @junglejordan changed his mind about the chocolate crumble, he got me so hyped! 😂 Andrew got excited when he said they served egg rolls too! 😂 this video was very detailed and the guest were awesome 👏
I like both stand up mac and cheese, and soupy mac and cheese. My Mom made the latter with Creamettes pasta, so it's a childhood throwback. Now I would eat it with LOTS of black pepper on top.
The 2nd restaurant is on another level . He's really a southern chef . Cajun soul food is wide . It's a mix of southern ,caribbean , geechie . Grits and seafood in holy matrimony
I appreciate that Cajin spot because they really have everything. He's from Louisiana but from Northern Louisiana it seems. Talking about Breux Bridge. So it won't be as seasoned or spicy.
I live in Renton. The Safeway on 200 South 3rd. St. has the best fried chicken. It’s not batter fried and is delicious! Try it. Go early because it sells out fast. The other Safeway on Fourth St. is good, too!

I wasn't aware of those “trivia”/facts 🤔 so that the video all more interesting to watch. Good work fellas👍🏽
Miami food was not mention in the southern food. It a twist from regular seafood and soulfood from other southern states....( black soul food, jamaican, Haitian, Caribbean and as well as Spanish (Cuban, DR, Colombian, and Mexican....
Being from New Iberia Louisiana the Heart of Cajun Country and the original and ONLY home of Tabasco Sauce, I can tell you right now there is a distinct difference between Cajun food and Creole Food from Louisiana. If you're from New Orleans you're cooking/eating Creole Food NOT Cajun Food. Cajun Food is from the Lafayette/New Iberia (Southwest) area of Louisiana. The product he sold in Althas are authentic from cities like Breaux Bridge so they get an "A" for that aspect. The "raw" products like the gator and catfish, etc...how they're prepared and seasoned are similar between Cajun and Creole (though Cajun tends to be hot versus Creole being spicy) but the difference comes when you cook the Gumbo and other "roux" based dishes. Creole tends to be "heavy or darker" roux base and a bit "thicker" in consistency with file' applied after the cooking where as Cajun tends to be a "lighter" soupier based with file' cooked during and more spice. The taste is obvious if you ever visit Louisiana and travel to both areas to compare.
Wrong, it depends on the person when it comes to cooking and cajun country was made up in the late 70's early 80's most of it were Creole Parrishes check the records Tabasco sauce actually comes from Tabasco, Mexico. I could go on.
I always find it so crazy when people try Cajun food bc I’m so used to it being like a normal thing to find in New Orleans. I don’t even go to fancy places or anything it’s more like what I like to eat in general. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten at popular Cajun restaurants
You never eaten at a popular cajun resturant because there are no popular cajun resturants in New Orleans. New Orleans is a creole city (58% black to be exact). Go west of New Orleans and you'll find real cajuns and real cajun food.
