My family just stayed there December 2023. We rented 7 rooms. I have never felt more welcome in my entire life! The owner's manager coordinated transportation, laundry service etc....We had the whole place to ourselves! As an American tourist, I loved my stay in The Gambia so much, I decided to purchase property there. Shout out to the owner of this guest house....as he (and those who assisted) set the tone for our entire stay!

@@encouragingthesaints Forgive me for the delayed response! It helps if you know someone there. Finding land on your own will be daunting and you can be easily scammed. There are a few reputable property management companies there. Or go through an attorney. Especially for land being sold by an individual. I was going to purchase in Swami. (A gated community near the airport). However, their idea of a mortgage is not like the US. 20% down. Pay 80% off in 2 or 3 yrs. I wasn't ready for something that aggressive. My in-laws found a lot outside the community along the Coastal Rd. Get ready! The construction industry is not governed there as it is here. Totally different processes there. I opted to buy a lot in a private sale because of the relaxed rules. I can take my time. Build any style home that I wish. Be prepared to wire the money in installments. The Rule is that you can't send more than $10k at one time.

My family is renting in one of his compounds in Tabokoto for 4yrs now.
I also stayed in that guest house with my wife for 4 months, it is reasonable, safe and tranquil. Gassama homestay is the place to be for your holidays.

Back in 1972 the term Guest House was respectful & simply meant more like home away from home & less expensive than huge hotels. No need to compromise your moral standards. Stand strong. God will continue to bless you because you honor Him and provide a valuable service to weary travelers. I love what you're doing in Agriculture too. Feeding yourselves & the community thereby eliminating the need to import fruit you can grow locally. You brothers are awesome!❤🎉❤😊

That's the concept we want to bring back. An affordable place that is like Home away from home. Unfortunately, its no more like that. 95% of guest house have this terrible reputation of allowing anyone and everyone- so long that can afford it. It's too bad that some prostitutes will rent some guest houses and bring thier customers in and out; more of a brothel. , Majority of the locals( mostly married men) and few diasporans use it for short stays for sexual hideout. That's what we don't allow and don't want want any association to it.

Love the basis on which they stand. If I can give one critique. Have some better curtains made. Those curtains look like curtains from a cheap motel in America, where all the seedy people mostly go. I pray you all are hugely successful.
Done. We just bought some luxury blackout curtains and about to ship them to Gambia. Hopefully when you visit next time, the taste will be different. We only 1 and half year unto the business and recommendations like this help us to grow. Those curtains definitely don't cut it . Thanks for input.

Just change the name guest house like as you know here in US we call it rental home or air bnb. Then market the new name so people understand what it’s for.
