How easily would an "ethnic" Gambian have been able to do the same type of trading, and with the UK, around the 1920s? How easily would it have been for "ethnic" Africans to establish such international business and trading links, in the 1920s ?
@@standardprocedure7017I clearly understand what you’re saying, but their success did not happen overnight. And of course no one talks of failures, only the success. Great interview as usual, Thank you Gano. Much can be learned from this man about doing business in Gambia. If he sees himself as a Gambian that's his choice, he has generations born in Gambia and his contribution to the country is comendable. We will contact you about Cocco production as it is something we have been discussing.
in jamaica it became a discrimination society based on colorism against the natives in favor of the ones from asia europe gambia dont make the same policy and mistakes
I think the only ppl hating on this are the ones who're no action takers & jealous that the great grand son of an immigrant is successful in their country & our continent. We can't be hating on success of someone else if we ourselves don't take risks or don't let each other as Africans prosper. We'd want our countrymen success be celebrated too in US or Europe so we should celebrate others success in our continent. Or just stop complaining & make that success happen & be proactive ourselves.
Go to Lebanon as an African and let's see if anyone will patronize your business. I see why they call you the smiling coast of Africa, because you folks are smiling so much that foreigners can easily control your economy from right under your noses. Bloody 🤡 🤡
This is sad😢 you guys really believe the white man the Hero and only one that can save Africa? This is another reason why chinese are controlling africa and they are mistreating many africans in their own country. You give none africans too much power, while you would never see a europeans give annafrican even 5% of power in their country😂 but it always the opposite for africans. Another reason why our continent is still behind and this right here is why we were colonized the first place by them. Soon you guys will complain that they are taking every businessess in the country and they must go😮. You are the first one to defend them but you will be the first to also protest for them to leave gambia
Very true. One big problem with some people is instead of learning from him and also tap into the vast opportunities available in the environment, they rather sit idle and be hateful. The Bible even says the devil finds work for the idle hands-hate. Stop hating and also explore because wherever there are problems, opportunities also exit.

Did Gano showed Gambians like Mohammed Jah who have businesses in all sectors in Gambia. Which includes Banking, Tech, telecommunications, , water supply, car industries, internet, Entainment, etc etc am pretty sure where you live you don’t control nothing so y’all give us a break. Even tho his great grandparents were born in Gambia y’all will still throw the race card like we cared. They contributed a lot in our economy and we proud of them
Nope. They don't understand how the income from these businesses most likely doesn't go back into the Gambian economy. They don't understand what a monopoly means for local businessmen. They also don't understand why these people were historically placed in their countries by European colonizers/enslavers & how they perpetuate same ideas and structures of that time.

7:43, there are many Lebanese (and Syrian) descendants in Brazil . There is a popular shopping area in downtown Rio called Saara because initially most sellers from the middle east (which I know have nothing to do with north África, but go explain to a Brazilian from the 1920s that not every "Arab" is from the Sahara). Yes I agree he's Gambian coz he was born in Gambia, so and that's no different than me being British (although I consider myself an African born in Britain) Some white people in UK look at the colour of my skin and assume I'm Jamaican so I can relate to what this man says.... How easily would an "ethnic" Gambian have been able to do the same type of trading, and with the UK, around the 1920s? How easily would it have been for "ethnic" Africans to establish such international business and trading links, in the 1920s ?
@@standardprocedure7017 Even africans don’t even know how to etablish continental trade between africans countries.
@@standardprocedure7017I clearly understand what you’re saying, but their success did not happen overnight. And of course no one talks of failures, only the success.
Besides our colonial masters ensured that they indoctrinated us in that belief of us not supporting our own dark skinned African business owners. Sometimes we do these deeds ourselves.
I love this guy. Simple..
Thank you! I need to visit the Gambia.
Mashlah , good luck for all, i am from Yemen live in jeddah saudi Arabia
I just can't watch your videos without commenting, always learn something, thanks again buy the way, this man is the real definition of business
Hum, i Hope your jahanka ppl are learning too .. I mean their lavish life styles with zero investments. 😊
Another amazing business for our country. Proud to be a Gambian. We need more of those. This man is really trying and May Allah bless him and his company... Aameen
inspired all the way from RSA...learned exactly where Gambia is,history lesson too...think that guy is great.
Suvinil and Tramontina are brazilian brands. As a Brazilian guy, I'am happy to see brazilian companies making business in african countries.
Gano, the"secret" is out! They DISCREETLY control half of the Gambian market.
We heard it from the horses mouth.
This Gambian family have organically grown their businesses, by meeting the demands of a certain segment of the Gambian market without bragging about it.
The humility of the gentleman, is a lesson for other Gambian businessmen.
Jaroot Titaru!
My mother is a Gambian American millionaire who tried to return to Gambia to something very similar to this Lebanese. Gambian people sh*t on her after she came back to the birthplace country she loves. Lebanese are pimping yall and yall act like it’s a good thing. SMH
Great interview as usual, Thank you Gano. Much can be learned from this man about doing business in Gambia. If he sees himself as a Gambian that's his choice, he has generations born in Gambia and his contribution to the country is comendable. In Jamaica we accept so many Jamaicans who do not look like a typical Jamaican, our saying is 'Out of Many We Are One' People who work for the good of a country and have love for the people to succeed, should be supported. We will contact you about Cocco production as it is something we have been discussing.
in jamaica it became a discrimination society based on colorism against the natives in favor of the ones from asia europe gambia dont make the same policy and mistakes
And that has turned out as the foreigners telling you can't go to your own beaches
I'm here because of The Afridamus Report. Thank you for this interview, very inspiring.
I agree with you 💯
Fair. However, it’s us that celebrates the success of Africans in the diaspora, not so much the so-called “indigenous” of those non-African nations.
Nice documentary. He is Gambian because he and his father were all born here. He is also adding value to the country.
This mentality is why Gambia and the rest of Africa is slowly being colonised.
@@niphodhlamini5974 Should the West also ban Africans from coming in for "fear of being tainted"?
@@idkwhybut... The West already does that moron. The West deports African migrants on a Dailey basis and it mistreats indigenous blacks in countries such in America.
@@idkwhybut... there are already millions naturalized africans in Europe....
@@armin3057 I know, just like there are people of different races naturalized in the Gambia. It's fair. Free movement of people for everyone
Very interesting interview . And a very determined young man. Lebanese have been in the Gambia for so long and like their Senegalese brethern , they love their adopted countries. Great work Gano !!
How are Gambians treated in Lebanon?

Thank you very much you are a true Gambian keep up the good we are proud 🙏
Awesome 👏🏽!! Can’t wait to watch foreigners turn Gambia into their new colony 😊. May the smartest humans prevail.
funny comment
Exactly....They are already having a blast!!
Let's just pretend Muhammad Jah, Alieu Conteh, and Basiru Jawarah don't exist, huh?
wow, this is a really inspiring story. Love your mode of documentary. Keep it up!
Came across your channel thanks to the algorithm. Very intelligent and interesting interview! Big up bredren
Great interview, thank you, gano, you are 100% Gambian. 2 years ago I contacted you about the cocoa tree, I never came back.
This is the best interview i have ever seen/heard.
This is another great interview. You don't constantly post vlogs,
But every time you do is a top-notch. Keep up the great content.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
"Nothing replaces experience."
That is 100% fact.
This was an awesome documentary thanks very much for this 😁👍🏾
I have red many of the comments and I am impressed by Gambian people . much respect to you . If the same interview was done for a lebanese in ivory coast , you would see many many racist comments about the lebanese community ... like they never worked their a*** off to get where they are today .
Inspiring and motivating story👏🏾Thank you for sharing 👍🏾
Wow he is so inspiring.
From Brooklyn NY 67yrs old...too many looking overnight success.
This was such a beautiful video and interview, very insightful, loved the content so far so I subscribed hope to see more videos like this!
Very nice to hear this story. He's indeed a Gambian or very well-acculturated in the mores and customs of the culture and languages.
very inspirational interview - I liked the life advice he gave
Great talk 👏 👌 well done Gano. Keep exposing these brilliant minds 🎉
Thank you, I will
And he’s Gambian on top of all that….
Good for you Sir. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I need a job
This guy is humble ❤
Not what I expected but the interview open my mind good one 👍🏾❤️❤️❤️
Gano did is again ❤ you never disappoint we need a part two
We love ❤️ this video from Ghana 🇬🇭
Great... He is a Citizen, and of course a active citizen. Only one thing, they business peoples should try giving back to the community and work on developing the country..
That’s a good man. He’s been blessed with good fortune.
Wait a minute, I’m confused, THIS is a good thing ? Any reason why blk Gambians can’t control the majority of their own businesses?🤔 I’m wondering if blk citizens can go to Lebanon and do the same on the same scale ???🤔🤔🤔
They're too stupid.
Why can't you ?
@@kingkuntaSWM Exactly our people don't understand the economic warfare that have been waged against us.
African ownership is what we need!
Then start your own
Jealous clowns 🙈
Nah its more like black ownership 😂😂😂, if someone not black not born in africa hes not africa?
I am impressed! As an accounting student I want to be more than Fady
We need more Gambians like this
Am from somalia 🇸🇴 based in Europe we bring good and booming business in the gambia 🇬🇲 no more how good and loving your to gambia 🇬🇲 at the end they will called you “Naar ganaar”Naar so you not feel part of the family but I love my Gambian brother
Are there a lot of Somali business owners/entrepreneurs in Gambia?
7:43, there are many Lebanese (and Syrian) descendants in Brazil .
There is a popular shopping area in downtown Rio called Saara because initially most sellers from the middle east (which I know have nothing to do with north África, but go explain to a Brazilian from the 1920s that not every "Arab" is from the Sahara).
On the other hand, I recently saw someone commenting on the popularity of Mate, a bitter infusion typical of the southern cone (southern Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay) in Syria .
Seems like a pretty decent guy. I wish him goodluck.
Btw nice channel you got here. You just earned a subscriber.
Keep bowing like a hungry dog when the owner comes home. You'll happily clap as they have more control while you have less.
@Banana Palm. What’s stopping you from having the same level of success?
Just get a degree in business and build your own. I believe you can achieve that.
Now all you need to do is believe in yourself…
I welling coming back to Africa and start things like agriculture . Your story give me confident to start something.
I didn't know much about gambia until I started watching your channel
He is very intelligent and a great communicator
GREAT AND INTERESTING INTERVIEW ! WELL DONE ! YESSS , TO SAY START LOVING YOURSELF TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY WHAT YOU DO , AND POSITIVELY IMPACT OTHERS AND ACHIEVE PLENTY ! HURRAY TO THIS WHITE GAMBIAN !
Gano thanks for your time and support for this highly awakening and productive video.
Thank you Gano, an interesting video of an interesting business man and his family's story. Some very good tips that other Gambias shouldtake note of! Yes I agree he's Gambian coz he was born in Gambia, so and that's no different than me being British (although I consider myself an African born in Britain) Some white people in UK look at the colour of my skin and assume I'm Jamaican so I can relate to what this man says.... I love his company ethos regarding the way they treat their employees. Well done to him and his continued success.
Can't wait to be there permanently (not too long got back to UK after spending a month there!) "I'll be back!" 😉😁👍🏽🙏🏽
Yes sis
Always great content brother 👏🏾 👌🏾 keep it up.
The amount of hateful comments is shocking.. I take it that everyone would like to br judge on their own character and not as a stereotype or group.. family, values, and integrity go a long way.. I wish all the success for him and his vision..
I love your channel, please keep this going. Greetings from Switzerland 🙌
I like this man! I would love to learn from him
Africa is the only continent that foreigners come with nothing and go back as millionaires because locals let them. Would african get the same opportunity in lebonan i dont think so .
I agree. Also, how easily would an "ethnic" Gambian have been able to do the same type of trading, and with the UK, around the 1920s? How easily would it have been for "ethnic" Africans to establish such international business and trading links, in the 1920s ?
Are u angry that locals are employed by his companies
Right he needs to go back to where he came from! 👍🏿 we don’t want them stealing our resources making themselves rich👎🏿👎🏿 these people hate black people on a regulars basis all of a sudden they cool and best friends with us when they tryna make millionaires off our resources!🤭
Exactly, at this point we have to call it for what it is, self hate and low self esteem. An African can go to Lebanon to establish a business, but guess what, nobody will buy from them. Our people are still sleeping. They don't understand the economic warfare that have been wage against them.
@@dinhos2000 they can't stand the black people in lebonan ove seen how they treat the african maids
