Finally someone doing the real testing with fighting games! Have you tried this out in Tekken?
Im tryna figure it out how it is but cant find any1 explaining have u found out
Usually individual buttons for dpad doesn't work that well in fighting games based on special commands, It would be nice to test it on a game like King of Fighters, Street Fighter, etc
@@LeandroMartinscg I actually got some on my Dualsense and I love them. You should try them! And they're not that expensive
So now it is like switch dpad.
It is much better and precise, i dont get why people complain about switch dbuttons, you prove it is much better independent buttons
Great video, the guide throughout was perfect and at a great pace, not rushing and overall satisfying to watch.
Thanks bud!
Quick question, how are these holding up for you still? I'm thinking about this for Tekken 8 because the stock controller dpad is just too mushy for my taste.
Coming from a hitbox onto a pad since I personally couldn't play tekken with a hitbox
I tried modding my 3rd party controller (old Gamesir T1s) by splitting the d-pad. It has plastic guide but unfortunately there was only 2 plastic guide so there's only 2 directions that wasn't wobbly. But overal the only thing that is problem was the dome sometimes didn't spring back up fast enough. Still a fun process especially since I always hated the accidental inputs when using ps4 controller.
Agreed! It is fun to open up the controller and tinker with things.
Its a late comment, but you can remove wobble and binding by first doing a tape-mod and then lube them with keyboard lube afterwards.
i just wished they uses the xbox feelness of pressing those buttons switching from an xbox controller to an ps5 controller makes u think ur not pressing the button while u actually click them on accident
The crab is Realtek's logo
Do you think it would be better if instead of using extremerate's dpad, i split the OEM dpad and use that instead?
That’s an interesting idea if you can split them up without breaking them. I do have a video in the queue about ExtremeRate’s split dpad dropping soon. Check it out!
Yea I don't think that's a good idea. You see these Dualsense controllers have some cheap ass fucking buttons, all of them rattles around when in the housing. Just shake a Dualsense and then shake a Dualshock 4 you'll know what I mean.
Thank you, I ordered it and I hope to install it on a busted dpad ps5 controller I have
is there a way to make the dpad like the stock buttons? The dpad is my biggest issue with the dualsense and having it feel like the buttons on the regular controller would be perfect. like the xbox dpad
Would it be better to use the standard pivoted dpad? I always find the split dpad weird for fighters
I find that the increased tension from the clicky switches makes the standard pivoted d-pad feel a lot better and I'm not getting any weird inputs like I used to with the membrane. I'm glad I didn't bother ordering a split d-pad.
@@UncleRots do you mess up your quarter or half circles often? I play SF6 and it's very difficult for me to play Cammy with the stock dpad
@@UncleRots Thanks for the opinion, this sounds good, the split d-pad seems to bring it*s own problems so I probably will just go with the clicky set.
Can you please respond to this message would be very much appreciated. This is about eXtremeRate Face Clicky Kit V2 for ps5 Controller BDM-010 & BDM-020, Custom Tactile Dpad Action Buttons for PS5 Controller. I wanted to order these too. However there are various negative reviews saying that the rubber under the mechanical buttons wear out within 3 to 5 months. So you have to open the controller back and and replace them. Do you have any idea of these issues? . Or heard about them change the system at all? As I really do want these ASAP. But I can't pay someone to replace the rubber for me every time they fail. Or can you recommend better ones for the ps5 dual sense controller Please? . Many thanks
You can replace it yourself
is this more durable than rubber silicone, I hate my ds5 dpad being mushy after a few months of use and I dont want to buy a hitbox/fightstick
How is this for motion inputs like street fighter? Looking to replace the dpad in the ps5 controller since it kinda sucks pretty bad!
I have not tested the switches w/o the split d-pad. With the split d-pad, it's not good for motion inputs unfortunately because my thumb get stuck on the edges of the buttons making it difficult to slide around smoothly.
Does the scewdriver and orange thing come included? Anyone know
Is the new ps5 camo controller compatible with this one? Or is that the 030?
Does this work with the DualSense Edge?
Did you get any mis-presses? I tried this and I couldn't beat Super Mario 3 with it. It doesn't register diagonals properly, feels less responsive and the separate D-Pad rattles around like some cheap ass controller.
No miss presses for me but it’s not perfect either... Stay tuned for the full review soon. 😀
You still need to travel, i expected it to be clicky like the option or share button for example
It's clicky but looks like it wiggles, not for me
Can you install it on dual sense edge ?
Is this mod good for street fighter 6? Missing a lot of quarter circles with stock PS5 controller.
I’d get another controller. Preferably with a disk dpad for SF6.
After the 2 mods, is this your favorite controller to play fighting games now?
The mods have their own issues. I plan to make a separate video on that soon. But my go to for fighting games are the Xbox Series and DualShock4 controllers.
@@FrameCounting Well my ps5 dualsense clicky board is coming today. Not gonna apply split pad on it yet. My split pad is on my ds4 right now. I'm gonna see if there is any problem with clicky buttons itself.
I'm playing tekken looking to improve my KBD and do half circle inputs, trying to decide between the extremerate clickers, beaver dpad, or just buying a ps2/3 controller
Buy wolverine chroma v2 for xbox then buy a brook wing xe adapter
I bought a second hand DS5
So far it feels the same but a little little stiffer and heavier
My b2 loops,DSS cancels, and KBD felt the same
The DS5 feels ok overall and felt the same as my DS4.
But the KBD in this video felt consistent so I'm kinda interested on buying those someday
@@aligeon3089Is Wolverine really that good?
I'm looking for the best pad for Tekken 8 on PC.
I kinda like Xbox One dpad, but it breaks so quickly, and it's a nightmare to replace, also face buttons are not so good.
Dualsense is good, great face buttons but I'm not a fan of mushy dpad.
Maybe I will go back to DS4 🤔
I would actually prefer Xbox buttons for other games on PC.
@@KrisDee1981 is xbox version is the one you need best belive that when get used to the dpad you wont want to use an other one( im only playing tekken 8 with it )
@@aligeon3089 Thanks for replying to me so quickly. What about the standard Wolverine V2 It costs only £75 (chroma £117) looks like it's the same controller, but without RGB, customizable sticks, 4 back buttons and dpad isn't circular.
What do you think🤔
Hey I bought this kit and it came with rubber that goes between the dpad and the board. I'm having issues with the rubber breaking. How can I get the plugs that you use in the video @5:46? I think they would work alot better
idk about material, but think you can try find the same and do hand-mate button rubber...
Not gonna lie I hate the mushy button feel gonna try this out
How does the click compare to like a computer mouse?
It is a mouse click
3:45 bro didn't even know Realtek 💀
Did I claim to know it…? Lol
@@FrameCountingmade no sense 🤦🏽
Does the individual D-Pad buttons feel wobbly?
They do. I plan on doing a separate video about them. Stay tuned! =)
Is this mod ideal for fighting games?
Yeah, but the DualSense unfortunately is not.
@@FrameCounting I play Street Fighter III 3rd Strike on Fightcade 2 with it and is good but only after the dpad coat goes away or whatever texture it is.
Do you still recommend it?
Yes
Yeah... Realtek's logo is an electronic crab.
And it's going to be more than just feeling better, having a mouse-like click is going to give you a better ability to time things rather than relying on more estimated timings with squishy membrane/pad buttons. A big reason why I wasted on money getting a Wolverine Ultimate was the mechanical mouse switches used for the buttons.
Then again this setup isn't cheap either, $90 CAD for the Dualsense and $20 CAD for the click buttons... and tax, totaling $124.30. Their back paddle kit is another $50 CAD as well... and whatever the clicky triggers cost... pretty much costs as much as a pro controller by the time you're done if you want everything.
Ah, didn't know that Realtek's logo is a crab lol! Financially, modding the DualSense makes sense if you already have the controller.
for me at least, I'm used to play Tekken on my laptop and the only friend that plays Tekken religiously were a console player (ps4) so whenever I have to fight with him (offline) I had to use his ps4 controller which always has accidental inputs. I could just buy a 3rd party like Wolverine but then I have to buy an adapter for ps4 whenever I come over to his house. So I'm planning on DS5 since it's cheaper than what Razer would offer. I'll reserve the modding when I'll be able to get it later.
Is it compatible with PS4/PS3 controllers?
What game is this
DOA6
Do you think it would work on a Xbox controller
I’m pretty sure there’s a version for Xbox.
@@FrameCounting where can I find one
Has anyone tried this with the Dualsense Edge?
i don't think it's compatible but extremerate will make a kit soon i think for ds edge. you can still buy this one(bdm-010/bdm-020) or the bdm-030 version and put it on your standard controller. but make sure to check out the model of your controller before buying.
i have the dualsense edge too but avoid buying it it won't work. the model of dualsense edge is CFI-ZCP1
10:33 button is shaking
Split D-Pad isn't very staple... =(
@@FrameCounting so there's any chance of breaking up buttons because of many times of using... In future
You gotta cut your nails bro. come on. Who's making this video count dracula?
lol, you’re right. You’re right.
